Chick-fil-A is always a yes! They have many healthy options which I love! But of course I still forever love their waffle fries. I mean come on, who doesn't love fries?!?! Due to COVID dining inside the restaurant has been closed for everyone's safety. The options are drive thru or car side pick up only. The drive thru has two lines open to help with speed. The always fantastic and friendly employees are outside in the elements rain or shine to take orders! The staff at Chick-fil-A are so personable. Always saying it was a pleasure to serve you. Ok so generally the lines are long due to Chick-fil-A's awesomeness! Everyone wants the waffle fries, lol. But they truly do try to make the drive thru move as quickly as possible. During lunch hours starting a little before 12 until 1:30 the line is very long. And around 5 the line will become long again. But have patience! The staff will get to you. I recently downloaded their app. It's fantastic! The app keeps track of your purchases for rewards. Those rewards add up quickly. And you'll get free food or drinks. Yep free! But my favorite option in app is to place my order ahead. Then to pick up my order car side & skip the drive thru line! This has saved me a lot of time. And ordering/paying in the app is easy. The app prompts you to tell you what you'll need to do. Once your order is placed, follow the prompts to confirm your order and location. Then you'll press the button to let them know you're on your way! The car side pick up area is on the side of the building where the drive thru line traffic tends to back up close to the street. There's handicap parking signs, cones blocking it off, and white signs with black writing to identify the area. The signs are a little worn now, & not quite as easy to read from a distance anymore. Once in the car side area, press the I'm here button in the app. And a staff member will bring out your food shortly! No line necessary! I've been in love with their side kale crunch salad lately. It's delicious. The salad comes already dressed for you. All you'll need to add are the roasted almonds that come in a separate package for freshness. But I still get those waffle fries every once and a while too! The classic chicken sandwich is my fave. I switch the white bun to multigrain. It's a small up charge of $0.55. Ever since I saw the video by Carissa Cropper on her review of CFA, (if you haven't seen it, google it and go now!). It is both hilarious and truthful and I can't help but chuckle every time I walk into one, analyze and hold each location to some of her points! Out of all the fast foods chains in America that I have tried (so far), I gotta say, CFA is high up there as one of my favorites. I can't help but follow the masses and crave their spicy chicken biscuits/sandwiches, waffle fries (and I'm not even a fry person), and the Cookies 'n Cream milkshake (I keep saying I am gonna branch out one day...sigh) and my body is programmed to crave it ESPECIALLY on Sundays (even my kids!) and feel that sense of disappointment and frustration that they still haven't had THE talk in the board room about opening its doors on the day of rest. This location is conveniently located on Abercorn near all the shopping and out of all the times we have been coming here regularly for the past 5 months. We have lived in Hawaii prior to Savannah and I think my whole family is making up for lost time. I don't think I have ever seen this location "slow". Any location, for that matter. There. Are. People. Everywhere. Honestly, every CFA that I have ever been to, I feel like they just can't ever build them big enough. There are only 3 stand alone locations in and around Savannah: Abercorn, Victory (I have yet to visit this one) and Pooler and then throw in a couple that are in malls and it just doesn't seem enough for the demand. Pooler is extremely busy too. All. The. Time. However, I am giving this location a solid 4 stars because even though it feels chaotic, it's an organized chaos. Service - The staff here do an amazing job at kicking ass and taking names! With the sheer amount of people that must come through here on a daily basis, they do a great job. I mean, one staff member takes your order and then a different one finds you in the sea of people and shows up with your food! Ta-da! Whatever system they have created, it works well. The food always comes out fresh. It doesn't always come out correct though, but again, that is mostly likely a result of the traffic, but nothing major that they couldn't, won't or didn't fix! It seems that they are always short staffed on the floor in the dining area and seems like they can't keep up with the cleaning of the tables after each diner with the traffic, but if you just ask, they are glad to follow you to the table and clean it right up for you! Some of my faves - Cobb or Market salad with a Fried Spicy Chicken Patty, a Spicy Deluxe Sandwich (it makes me feel better to add the tomato and lettuce, you know, for balance), the tenders or nuggets with a Cookies 'n Cream milkshake. I have ordered delivery from here twice and both times my order was missing over half the items. I reached out to the store, no one ever answered the phone. I emailed customer service who pawned it off on DoorDash as if because they simply picked it up and delivered it that it was DoorDash who packed my order incorrectly and because my issue was with my items and not my delivery, DoorDash was of course no help. Alright where do I begin. I had a few bad experiences at this particular Chick fil A . Sometimes the food is cold, sometimes they have pickle on it when I'm highly allergic, sometimes it's American cheese instead of the Colby Jack cheese. My thing is, I'm paying for it, I have to have it my way (No BK ). A young lady named Ryn has been the one who's corrected the meals. She's been able to see where the fault was and she made sure that I was taken care of properly. She corrected everything and I appreciate her for having it done quickly.
