Seat myself at the bar. The clueless staff is more interested in chats between themselves and the regular bar flies than service. The single smashburger is okay at best. Remembered to ask for sauce on side. Last time it was smothered in slop. Tots literally exploded in my mouth. Not from a flavor explosion. It was because they were dry AF and tasted like they were left over from the night before. Dry salty balls of crunch. This is one of the worst boring brown fried salty establishments in Muncie. How great can the food be, really? Um, pretty freaking great, actually. I got a fish sandwich, which was a long filet of battered and fried fish, served on an ultra-soft hoagie roll, with a little lettuce and tartar sauce inside. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, and flaky and soft on the inside. It's the type of thing that I didn't want to stop eating, because the combination of textures was just perfect. Handhelds are served with a side, and I chose the side Caesar salad. It was an OK Caesar, and it did its job to satisfy my CaeSal craving. It comes with red onions on top, which is a choice. The service here was great. The restaurant has a big bar in the middle, with TVs showing sports. The whole place is surrounded by windows, so you can see out into downtown Muncie.

Our waiter was pulled in lots of directions. He did his best to manage the three large parties he had. It was disappointing that the manager and/or another person didn't step up to help this guy.

The bruschetta was delicious, and it is worth coming here for that alone. The mozzarella sticks were very average and nothing spectacular. The Penne All'Arrabbitta was good, but they were definitely very heavy handed on the red pepper flakes. Over time, it lacked any flavor besides spice. The Tortellini al Forno had lots of flavor and was very cheesy. We did ask for it with grilled chicken and didn't get any. The waitress explained that there's a language barrier with the kitchen and mistakes like that are common. She was very understanding of the situation, as were we. The staff was dropping F bombs that could be heard out in the restaurant. Good thing there weren't any children in the lobby. The kiosks timed out while helping my older Aunt with her order so everything had to be done more than once. Not to mention the kiosks were showing they were out of Green Goddess salad dressing, chips, and a certain kind of bread for a particular sandwich. It just seemed like when we made alternate choices to satisfy the kiosk it didn't matter because in fact they did have chips, Green Goddess salad dressing and who knows if that bread was in fact in stock! The kiosk doesn't accept cash, which is enough to never return to any location. Cash is legal tender in case you forgot and not made easy to use because there isn't really staff at the register. The bathroom was so gross, the floors, & honestly it made me wonder how dirty the kitchen was. The trouble is, we went out as a family with my sick Aunt who had wanted Panera and who doesn't get out much because of her illness. It was such a disappointment for her and we felt guilty we took her to such a gross location. Get it together Panera.
