This no-frills burger joint is a true West Jackson gem. It's definitely a takeout spot -- seating…read moreis extremely limited and really just meant for waiting on food -- so ordering ahead by phone is a good idea because they get busy fast. Customer service is incredibly friendly, both on the phone and in person. They really treat you right here. The burgers are classic standards and hard to beat. I also love that they offer a true vegetarian/vegan option with the portabella burger. The Bella is substantial but a little thinner than others I've had, which I actually prefer -- it allows for more flavor and crispiness. I'd recommend getting it dressed the same way as their classic burgers rather than the default build. The fries are fresh-cut, damn good, and come in bountiful portions. The space is small and clearly well-worn, but that's part of the charm -- it's clean, unpretentious, and you can see the entire kitchen at work. All in all, this is a go-to lunch takeout spot in Jackson and absolutely worth the trip if this is what you're looking for.

They have a good list of options that include turkey burgers, but I went full fledged carnivore and was not disappointed! I also ordered some fresh cut, seasoned fries; so good! You order at the counter and wait for goodness to happen. The surrounding area may make some uncomfortable, but I didn't feel unsafe at all. Give it a chance, it's a great burger!

I have never eaten at a Schlotzsky's, but decided to try it after a friend highly recommended it. I…read morelove a good salad, but the one I had here was not enjoyable. I got the strawberry chicken salad, which is usually one of my favorites. This one was by far one of the worst I've ever had. To start, the little bit of chicken that was on there seemed like the leftovers from what they had after they made sandwiches. It was very lacking in flavor. The balsamic vinaigrette (which I usually love) was very bitter and had the worst flavor. They really need to change that recipe! The pecans were supposed to be "candied", which really elevates the flavors of a strawberry salad. There were very few, and they were not candied, but just regular salted tiny pieces. Overall the combination of all the flavors just didn't work, and made for a boring tastebud experience. IF I ever go back I'll try something else. As far as the service, that was disappointing too. The young lady at the register was very nice, but everyone else could really use some customer service training. After eating, I went back to the counter to get a to-go box. I stood there for 3-4 minutes, and had numerous employees walk right past me and not even make eye contact. Even the manager that was in the kitchen making food looked over at me and said nothing. I was trying to wait patiently, but after a few minutes, I finally flagged someone down to get the to-go box. It doesn't seem like they care much about the customer experience, and that usually makes up for lackluster food.

Solid visit. Everything food and staff wise, is as it should be…read more Manager was present training employees at the register and helping guests along the way. Made sure to say hello to me and everyone else. Food was hot and fresh. I don't know what it is about this place but I freaking love it. That Cane sauce is like freaking crack, the skinny crinkle fries are the perfect crunchy, and the tenders are sprinkled with something magical, I swear... It's loud as hell in there, and the music is eclectic to say the least. I actually love that part as you hear some funky stuff. Caught myself dancing in my seat as I ate them tasty little tenders. What wasn't that great is it was extremely cold inside with all of the ceiling fans just cranking just to stir the chilly air! One last gripe that really made me decide on four stars. It's slick as ice in the floor. I am a bit disabled these days and about bit it in the bathrooms. '24- 88/101

I came through the drive-thru, paid for my meal, and moved to the second window. When I decided to purchase a cup of water for $0.25, I struggled to reach my change. With a line of people behind me, I searched and searched while the window agent just stared, utterly indifferent. It struck me how absurd it was to spend my money at an establishment so unwilling to offer a simple courtesy drink while I fumbled for change. They preferred to inconvenience waiting customers and let me grow frustrated over a measly $0.25 rather than say, "Ma'am, as a courtesy, we'll offer you a small cup of water this time." I spend $50.00 to $70.00 here most weeks. Yet they couldn't offer a small courtesy water. I asked for my money back, deciding I no longer wanted to support them. The manager walked up and snarkily responded, "Do you THINK we're just going to GIVE YOU WATER?" His tone was particularly nasty. THIS ESTABLISHMENT WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME. EVER. It's appalling how some restaurants in Mississippi treat people so poorly. I'm amazed they stay in business. Thankfully, places like this serve cheap, unhealthy, fattening, and overpriced food, making the decision to stop patronizing them all the easier.
