Can you see the chicken?
Veronica M.

I'm always disappointed at this location but is the only one close to my way to work. Lanes are always so slow. Their food is a joke! Not really representing the name correctly. Like, did I say spray chicken? I now have to order an extra chicken filet so I can taste the chicken on the biscuit. The sweet tea tastes a little bit water down and so is their lemonade. Honestly a waste of money and time with this location. McDonald's is also on the way too. If I wanted to be disappointed for less, I would have stop there

Oliver helped me in the drive-thru and was super friendly and helpful! Great recommendations and bubbly personality! Another great visit at this location!

Is it four or five? How do you judge a fast food restaurant compared to a truly unique or high-end dining experience? Frankly, I think we need caveats of sorts ... or perhaps specific categories. There really is no comparison, but there are definite contrasts. As fast food goes, Chick-fil-A ranks near the top of the "star" list. They have tasty food, fair prices, excellent service, and uh the drive-thru is....oh, wait....that's different animal altogether. We chose what is likely the most crowded C-f-A in our area. (It happened to be the closest to us at the time.) We also decided, grandkids-in-tow ... at the end of a busy morning ... to use the drive thru. And, I decided, techie that I am, to use the app. The app is fairly efficient and easy to use. Be careful scrolling, there are both vertical and horizontal options on some pages. We ordered.... And then came the first question quandary. The drive-thru lanes were both backed up to the main street. Pretty sure that either lane would be fine, but then I remembered there is an option for pick up. (As Steve Erkel would say, "Did I do that?") Fortunately, there was a traffic "helper" who we asked about app order pick up. He politely guided us through a maze of cones alongside the two lanes of drive-thru congestion and told us where to "park and go inside". (First real mistake.....should have used the drive-thru.) Went inside and waited a few minutes while other customers were being served. Also saw there was a table unit between the door and counter that held bags with other orders. Scanning the bags, I did not see my name, so I approached a clerk to ask about our order. OK...let's get to it. She looked at my phone and checked her computer screen, found the order and asked us to wait for a moment. (I must confess that I also asked her to include another milk shake that we forgot in our initial order. No problem.) Order was delivered to us very quickly, although there was still a bit of a wait that likely matched the time we would have spent in the drive-thru lanes. Who knows? Food was hot, made exactly to our specs, accurately priced - including add-on shake, which I asked about when looking at the receipt. Upshot...likely some of the best service available ... except drive-thru or in store pick up table ... or is there curbside .... I still don't know. I know the grandkids would give it 5-stars...but acknowledging my "senior confusion," I'm stickling with 4. And likely looking for a slightly less-crowded one next time....if there is such a thing.

It helps if you actually put the chicken in the sandwich. Drive thru fail.

Have your staff double check the sandwiches and ensure they actually put the chicken in it.

All the tables are dirty, sodas spilled all over the floor, and the trash. And overflowing

The dining area was noticeably dirty, with multiple tables covered in visible crumbs, food, and trash, even though it wasn't busy. It made the whole experience feel uncomfortable and honestly pretty off-putting while trying to eat. This hasn't been the cleanest location on past visits but because we've been in hospitality we've tried to give some grace and have come back again, but it was especially noticeable this time. Food was mixed - the tenders were fine, but the nachos were much lighter on toppings than usual and the jalapeños, onion, and lettuce were very roughly chopped to the point I ended up picking a lot of it out. I also found a bone in my chicken, which was concerning because it was a good size. Hoping this was just an off day, but the cleanliness is something that really needs attention. For now, we might be changing up locations if we're craving Waldo's chicken.

This is another one of the meat + 3 places that show up on all the places to try when in the area. My wife had the mild chicken tenders with black eyed peas and mac & cheese. She loved her food and the black eyed peas preparation (traditional with pepper vinegar). I had the fried chicken and dressing with gravy and the green beans. I loved the fried chicken. Done right. I didn't like the dressing as it was bland and mushy. Not flavorful at all. The green beans were decent. Our counter server was surly and didn't seem happy to be there so they lose a star for that. This spot was busy, even around 11am on a weekday! The staff was hustling to get through the line and we didn't wait long to order. The employees here were friendly and welcoming. We chose to take our food home, but there are tables if you prefer to dine in. Normally, I'd be a little worried about food safety with a cafeteria line. This spot is so busy and fresh food was constantly being put out on the line. It didn't look like any of the food was sitting for long. The meats and sides rotate by the day. The offerings by day are listed on their website. Plates can be ordered as meat only or meat plus one, two, or three sides. Veggies plates are an option. They even have a family meal option. Cobblers and pies are available for dessert. I would rate the food quality and taste at 3/5. The portions are generous for the price which is why I bumped to a 4/5. It's decent enough for a large, cheap meal. The Fried Chicken was good. It's not the best I've had, but good if you want something quick. The Chicken and Dumplings was good, a little on the soupier side. The sides were my favorite part. The Carrot Soufflé was my favorite with a sugary topping. The Squash Casserole had a nice taste. The Mashed Potatoes were creamy and buttery. The Green Beans had a nice texture and taste. Nothing here is going to be heavily seasoned, just simple flavors. The Pecan Pie was really good. I liked the crust and the flavor of the filling. The Banana Pudding was good, but not the best we've had. This is one of the few spots you'll still be able to get inexpensive takeout. A basic meal without breaking the bank!

This place is definitely not cracking my Top 25 places to eat in Franklin. But on a rainy Wednesday…read morenight, when the refrigerator is emptier than a college dorm room, this place will absolutely deliver some good old-fashioned comfort food. Walking in here is also a reminder that... I might be getting a little older. You know you're old when you look around the dining room and realize half the "decorations" are things you actually grew up using. I'm pretty sure my grandmother had three of those items in her kitchen. Back in the day they used to bring biscuits to the table immediately. Boom. Biscuit drop within 30 seconds. Now they wait until your food comes out. Honestly, that's probably a smart move. Their biscuits are pretty darn good, and there were many younger versions of me that would've eaten so many biscuits that my entrée would've needed a to-go box before I even started. For dinner I ordered the fried catfish, which was lightly breaded and cooked just right. Not greasy, not overdone just good Southern comfort. My sides were loaded hash browns and corn, which fit the rainy-day comfort food theme perfectly. My wife ordered the vegetable plate, and she really liked it... which is impressive. Service was good, although our waiter wasn't exactly hovering. In fact, my water glass stayed empty long enough that I briefly considered sending out a search party. After we finished eating, my wife did what wives do in this place, she wandered into the gift shop to "just look." If you've ever been here, you know that can be dangerous. Fortunately, she didn't find anything she absolutely had to have, which saved me about $47 in decorative rooster merchandise. Checkout took a little longer than expected due to some register confusion, so I stood there for about five minutes reflecting on life... and wondering how a place that sells this many biscuits can't move a checkout line faster. All that said, if it's a rainy day and you're craving some good comfort food, this place will do the trick.
