Oh so tender! Why the brand change? PDQ, LMNOP, no one cares about the name! I think it's some damn good chicken and I'll keep coming back. Actually, my wife texted me and asked if I could bring her a late lunch. I'm on the Southern State parkway, lemme stop by and get some PDQ for her. I find out it's now called Chick and Tender. Same great chicken tenders, what's not to love? Fresh, hot and juicy chicken tenders. Mmm.. I grabbed an unsweetened iced tea for my sweetie along with some dipping BBQ sauce and now I am good to go! The place inside and outside looks the same. The weird sink in the main dining room as well as the soda fountains are untouched. Update: Looks like majority rule on the fries. They are now just generic crinkle cut fries, more like Shake Shack's, likely from a restaurant supplier or Sysco. The made-in-house fries are gone, which is a disappointment. On this visit, my chicken breast was dry and unfortunately chewy, and the amount of smashed avocado has been reduced. The sandwich did still have a good amount of fresh lettuce. On the positive side, the restaurant has now completed the rebrand from PDQ, with the Chick & Tender branding in place, and they've added some nice seasonal touches for the fall, which makes the ambience more inviting. read more

I don't know if their other location is better, but this one is horrendous. The employees don't know anything pertaining to promotions, coupons, events going on. Have attempted to go to two of their "craft nights" they heavily promote on Instagram and the employees have no clue what I'm talking about. It's odd because we went to their first two and it was great. Then I have a gift card and the manager doesn't know how to use it, says I can't use it on my order because it's a "promotion" and said to contact customer service for a better answer. What? I keep giving them chances and I'm at the point of not anymore, chicken tender places are a dime a dozen and they won't be in business much longer if this keeps being the regular (which it is). I was curious to come here to try the chicken tenders. The sandwiches sounded good but I ordered a three piece spicy tenders meal. The restaurant was super clean and it wasn't too busy so I found a nice table in front. I felt like the chicken tenders were ok, nothing special. Fries could have been a bit crispier. The sauces were also ok, felt like they weren't homemade, just generic bottled sauces. I may stop by to give them another try but I feel there are plenty of other options for chicken tenders. read more

When they were PDQ they were my favorite local chicken place. Unfortunately it seems they made all the wrong changes when leaving the franchise. The PDQ brand had such a nice charm to it so I was disappointed when they rebranded. When I found out it was still the same owners I checked it out hoping the food would still taste the same. Sadly it seems the recipes and ingredients had all been changed. Everything tastes worse than it used to. All of the sauces tasted extraordinarily bland and even hard to swallow in some cases. My friends and I were huge fans of the PDQ honey mustard. Now the honey mustard just tastes like high fructose corn syrup. All of the chicken tastes worse than before but at least it's still okay. I will give credit that they have expanded the menu options but it seems they've lost their quality in the process. Now I have to go to New Jersey to get PDQ. They really had something beautiful and this has been a disheartening change. Please change back!! read more

I'm pretty sure this is a reboot of PDQ Chicken. While the chicken tastes basically the same, I do miss the waffle fries and the service. I can live with the crinkle cut fries but the service as gone downhill since the rebrand. Three of the last times I have done drive thru there were errors. Not so much with the food itself but the condiments. First no sauce, the second no ketchup and today no sauce or ketchup. Sorry, for me meals without condiments are unacceptable. UNACCEPTABLE. As I mentioned I did the drive thru. My job is 8-9 miles from the restaurant in Farmingdale. I will not accept the excuse I should have checked the order before I pulled away from the window. I should not have to. You see, I have been going to PDQ since it opened in Westbury and more recently in Farmingdale. I have never had an issue with either location in at least 100 meals there. The batting average in Farmingdale is poor. Poor enough that I have been disappointed for the last time. There are plenty of food options on Rte 110, this is no great loss. I gave them 2 stars because the chicken is tasty. But they get zero stars for execution. Too bad, never had an issue with PDQ. Odd, no? ADDENDUM: Received a reply to my post. She inferred that there will "be a next time." In my review I state: "I have been disappointed for the last time." No ambiguity. There will not be a next time. Raising my review to a 3.5. Gave it another try T the end of August, and the key is to eat at the restaurant. The fries do not travel well. No change of opinion on the tenders; bland overall, but a nice portion. Service was slightly fast than last time, and friendly. One of the two soda machines had no ice or carbonation. Went through the drive thru line. They now have you speak to a speaker. The person on the other end was totally clueless. Went back and forth until another person came over to help. If I got a classic sandwich, they would charge 25 cents for lettuce. I said that was fine but instead they made it a deluxe sandwich which was 60 cents more. The fries were so so - weren't cooked enough. The grilled chicken piece was thin and small. Had much more roll than chicken. Pretty crummy value for the money. The deluxe sandwich was doused in sauce. Asked for a receipt and the receipt said what we ordered was different than what we actually got - even the soda was wrong. We've been back a few times since they changed over from PDQ - willing to give them time to get things together - but seems to have gotten worse. Also, they have no app so don't get points good toward Rewards and feee food. Very disappointing - incompetence and mediocre food, at best - don't think we'll be back any time soon. read more

Genuinely so disgusting. It took 15 minutes for me to even finish ordering since nobody knew how to work the system (they kept trying to get me to pay $3 extra for a drink) and workers were extremely rude. Points from Pdq are NOT accepted. Food came out soggy and overcooked, fries tasted like dirt and the oil was obviously way too old and shouldn't have been used. Place was empty and prices went up as well. I feel very nauseous after eating (didn't even eat half of the food) so we'll see what happens. Genuinely the worst food I've had in many years. My 5th visit. This is actually a meal you look forward to. Crispy chicken tenders are delicious, the perfect tender. Don't get turned off by the slightly higher price because they are giving you top quality chicken. Crinkle fries yum. Soda is also calibrated correctly. Service always fast and wait time is like lightning. Ambiance is fast food decor however real comfortable booths. This used to be a PDQ which I also enjoyed but I feel Chick & Tenders took chicken to a whole new crispy delicious level. Give it a try, you'll be hooked. read more

Unfortunately all good things must come to and end.. and for us this is the end of PDQ in New York. I really want to enjoy this place, I have gone numerous times since the opening but it is really just a bastardization of what PDQ was. The chicken is always somehow completely lacking any crunch, the spicy chicken does not taste right at all. No more nugget options, the fries are seriously not right either. The service is noticeably slower despite the building always being empty. The building, interior, drive thru and all is all virtually the same, theres no issue with that at all, the building basically brand new and very clean. I see that C&T is trying to push for a presence on TikTok, maybe instead of making 10 second videos, focus more on the quality of your food. read more

Was curious to try this place after the recent rebranding. Unfortunately there are SEVERAL issues. First we wanted to mix tenders a few grilled and a few crispy which shouldn't have been that hard but they couldn't accommodate that request. The grilled tenders (5 piece) were small and bland and for $10.35 an utter scam. The chicken sandwich was also a disappointment, the breading made the actual meat portion appear much bigger but it was quite small and the sandwich itself was a bit off tasting. Only bright spot here is the fries which were decent and on the level of Nathan's which isn't saying all that much. Drinks were very watered down in this case got the sweet tea which I couldn't even fill myself. Also got the coleslaw which had a bland taste and very watery and poor texture. The inside is nothing special and feels very sterile and bland lacking much of any character. The table I sat at was sticky. Overall not a great first impression, portion size and quality is SEVERELY lacking and if this place wants to have a remote chance of making it, big improvements are needed. read more

You know the old saying: "nothing is quite like the original?" Well...it remains intact for this place as well. While the deluxe chicken sandwich I had was ok, not great, the same cannot be said for the rest of my meal. The lemonade I received was watered down beyond belief, to the point in which I asked myself if I was just drinking lemon flavored water. The French fries are now crinkle cut, not waffle fries, as PDQ used to have. To say they were smothered in salt, may be an understatement. I can see why, too. The actual quality of the fry is something you could make in an air fryer at home. Overall, disappointing visit to Chick and Tender. Not to mention, I was overcharged for my meal. What read $11 and change on the menu board, actually costed me $14.25! Would not recommend to anyone and highly doubt I will return. read more

Same great staff, however a few changes to menu The regular chicken sandwich looks the same but meat portion was too thick for a sandwich, coating came off as Holding sandwich to eat, and very salty. Formally known as PDQ. We were there the first day they switched over from PDQ. No longer PDQ they are now called CHICK & TENDER. RUN away from this place or go to chik fil a up the road a bit. Loud music makes it hard to place your order. Ordered $60 worth of food and half of the sandwiches were wrong. The food takes way too long to come out of the kitchen and especially long if you have to return the food and have it re-made. The staff is unsure how to answer questions about the items on the menu. So gross. I fell for the trap and saw them on social media and thought wow that place looks delicious. The food was terrible the chicken isn't good it's plain not even tender lol and the fries aren't cooked enough and have no seasoning salt pepper etc. the Mac and cheese isn't good either. Didn't like anything and wasted my time making the trip don't do the same. Also the cups are like this clear plastic and you see every single fingerprint from the employees or anyone that touches it it's just gross :( read more

We get home and there is no fries, just two boxes of mediocre chicken tenders. And we waited for 20ish minutes just for chicken tenders no fries. Very good chicken sandwhiches. Better than its predecessor, PDQ. Very good French fries and shakes as well. The one burger they have on the menu is just okay. I wasn't a big fan of the mac and cheese. Staff is very friendly. It's not overly expensive. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Was hoping for so much better. Chicken was bland, and sadly made fresh - tried the grilled and crispy. Very small portions for high prices - $11 for only chicken and $15 for a meal. Coleslaw was tasteless and again small quantity. Service was very slow, and again understand its fresh but employees are just wondering around. Tables were dirty and place, although not to old looked very worn down. Back to chill Fil A and wish a five brother's chicken was in the area. read more
