    Cheese Pizza Slice

I've gone here a few times with my boyfriend and his friends, and each time has been enjoyable! I've only gone on Mondays for their $1 slices, which is such a great deal, and the slices are bigger than I expected. They have 7-foot pool tables upstairs that take quarters, which is perfect if you're in the mood to play. The service has never been slow.

I love Chicho's pizza with the spicy sauce - PERIOD!!! I tell you, when I want pizza and I am nearby, this is my go to spot. The spicy sauce with pepperoni and jalapenos toppings is my go to for sure! Yes, I love spicy! The salads here are great as well! I love the wings fried hard as well. The atmosphere is lively too! Every now and then they will feature a DJ or live music. This place is located on the busy Granby Street. When you walk in this place appears to be small inside, but it's actually pretty large compared to other restaurants located in the area. I have dined here a handful of times and each time has been a joy! I love the cocktails here too!! Parking - street parking is available and free after 6pm and Free on Sundays. But if none is available - garages are located within walking distance. Check them out! I believe on Sundays they offer a cheese pizza deal worth getting - with spicy sauce :) Have fun and enjoy life :)

I usually never leave my workplace for lunch but a couple of my coworkers and I decided to venture in Downtown Norfolk and it seems like a lot of places are closed on Tuesday, at least where we were intending to go was. Chichos was open and we decided to eat here for lunch. The prices for their food are pretty inexpensive and the serving sizes are decent/big. I ordered the Cheese Pizza which was $6 for a 10inch personal pizza and I picked spicy marinara for my sauce. For $6 it was a decent size personal pizza. Before you take a look at the picture, I forgot to snap a picture before I took a bite, least to say I was hungry. The pizza tasted like a normal regular pizza, I didn't get any of the spice until I hit the 4th slice where it all seemed to be concentrated at one focal point of the pizza. The spice would have been a lot better if it was distributed throughout the sauce. They do have a bar area and there was one other person in the establishment besides us but he was doing some day drinking. Our order was taken fairly quickly and placed but it seemed to take a while for the order to come out. It was a pretty basic experience at a restaurant, nothing extravagant. However, I was surprised when I looked at the check, that there was an automatic tip applied to the order. There were a total of 3 people in the party and we all paid separately, I understand putting a mandatory gratuity tip on large groups, but I was fairly shocked to see an automatic tip on my receipt. I was not going to question the tip because $1 and some change tip was not going to break my bank, but in the long run it saved me money because I was going to tip more than the tip automatically applied.

All the way ! Minus the beef

Two words: SPICY SAAAAAUCE. okay, so I believe that you're not living if you haven't tried their spicy sauce in the pizza. It's delicious.

They charge you 18% gratuity for ALL orders, no matter what size!! They're already over priced so imagine 18% extra on top of a $100 total.

The vibe is whatever you want it to be, as some were dressed up & others were casual. We made reservations a few days ahead of time for a Friday night, but walks in were welcome & it's wasn't crowded when we arrived. When it comes to the parking situation, avoid the lot beside Still that's is labeled for the Mustard Seed Place. (We almost were towed but came back in the nick of time). We thought the open spaces without signs were open parking spots since the other spots were clearly labeled for Mustard Seed Place & Bon Secours. We entered the side door and were instantly transported into a basement speakeasy feeling restaurant. The host asked if we had reservations & then we were immediately seated. We enjoyed a small table lit candle and were surrounded by other couples without feeling too close or subtracting from the intimacy. We started with drinks: ~A Pineapple Bourbon Honey Sour - a well balanced drink that was tastefully sweet. ~Lavender 75 - I was initially cautious of gin, but the waitress assured me it was delicious & she was right. ~Old Fashioned - perfect! For Tapas we ordered: ~ Cornbread - cooked to absolute perfection, crispy on the outside, but moist & cake like on the inside. As a lavender girly, the lavender butter was delectable and subtle. I need inquire about buying some of that to go! ~Brussels (my FAV) - this was the largest plate and the Brussels were cooked to perfection and sauced in a tasty concoction. ~Bacon Wrapped Tots - served with 4 on a skewer. We initially were going to skip these because the name sounded like bacon and tater tots, but were pleasantly surprised that the tot was a homemade, cheesy, delicious latke like creation. (Another fav) ~Beef Filet - served with mashed potatoes and mustard seeds. This was also cooked perfectly & tasted delicious but was gone after we both shared a bite. All in all, this restaurant is a must visit, keeping in mind that the portions are intentionally smaller so you can share and try multiple items. The items do not come out in the sequence you order them, so I'm glad we ordered everything at once. The service was great and we look forward to visiting again. One small note, would be to fix the table legs. We ended up stuffing a napkin under a leg to keep it from wobbling. But that didn't finish our experience.

Both pizzas were quite tasty, though I wish they used black olives instead of green on the Delux. If I do go back, I'd eat inside to try some of their other food and have some beer. My husband went inside, so I didn't get to see what it looks like in there, but it's seems to be in a good location and looks pretty roomy from the outside. The only thing I didn't like was the mix up about paying for the pizza. I paid online with my credit card, but when my husband went in, they handed him a receipt to sign, which doesn't usually happen when you've already paid online. My husband thought the pizza wasn't paid for, and mentioned it to me when he got back to the car. I had him go in and make sure they didn't charge us twice. The employee told him they do that for the tip portion of the receipt. I thought that was a bit disingenuous. My husband ended up putting the tip on the receipt and signing it, but I was a bit put off by all that. Why am I tipping you on carry out? You didn't serve me at a table. You didn't drive to north Suffolk and deliver the pizzas. What are we tipping for? We've already paid for the food.

We explained this was our first time in and asked for recomendations. He was very friendly and cordial and explained how everything worked. At the end of the visit we realized he gave great advice that allowed us to fully enjoy our visit. The vibe and ambiance was really good and had the true arcade feel. There were people enjoying food and drinks and relaxing in groups in the dining area, playing duck pin bowling, video games including guitar hero, playing pinball, skeetball, basketball shoot and football throwing games. Bartender was incredibly attentive for having a full bar. We each had 2 different cocktails and both were distinctive and excellently crafted. We had shared a couple of the small plates and enjoyed them both. We enjoyed the place so much that we decided to come back with a group of 14 for All Lovers Eve. Second time: Made the reservation with ease. If you've ever made a group reservation you know how complicated some places make it. This was a large group and they were short handed. This lead to a slower service which actually worked out well for our group. We didn't mind the gaps. They put us in their back room (hint - GREAT for groups) there was a little confusion with the order to include an extra dish we didn't order. We still ate it and paid for it though. The staff was great with our large and rather disruptive group. The food was all excellent (local oysters on the half shell and the apple desert were my highlights). Multiple cocktails that were all wonderful. My only real negative was that there was a $50 "loyalty club " charge that was never mentioned and I didn't even notice on the $1200.00 bill. This is, I believe, some sort of credit card fee. Both times were good. Both times staff were wonderful. Both times we were comfortable. Give the place a try. I don't think you will regret it.
