Tonight we stopped in here and as always the pizza was great. Lots of toppings and the best spicy sauce. We had a great server, Emily. She was super friendly and checked in often. The booths could use a little refresher. The material is ripped and worn but I guess it is part of the ambiance. read more

A Shame! Ordered some slices for me and my friend for lunch at work. We got last nights left overs. I ordered the supreme. They literally threw onions & green peppers in my slices and boxed it. Couldn't even bother to heat mines up. Also got the Mediterranean Salad. Both dressings feel in the bag. Licked the lid for a taste. 4 slices and a Salad $50. There are words that I can not use. This place is pretty good. I've never had a bad experience here. Pizza's have been good. Good selection of beer. I'm not blown away by this place, but it's not bad. read more

Starting with the parking. I get, the restaurant can't control that. But to have a full parking lot and almost no customers inside? It's a bit weird. We sat down, the booth is ripped up and the table was dirty. Ever. No biggie, we're hungry. So we looked, but nothing on the menu was up to date. So we didn't even get the beers we wanted. We ordered an app, the loaded fries. Waitress comes back after bringing the beers and we ordered a pizza for the table. We have been seated for nearly 40 mins at this point. She comes back and tells us they lost our ticket. Not sure how that happens. But they'll give us %15 off... okay. We're starving so whatever. We order another the beer. The kids are screaming. Then the pizza comes out. We are eating and then the app comes out. Nothing special about the food, but I see why this place has a 3 star rating. Wanted to stop for a quick dinner but the whole ordeal took over an hour and a half. The check comes after the waitress passed by us multiple times and only the app was discounted. Even though everything took forever. Idk. Everyone who works there seems confused. Won't be back. read more

Our waiter, a handsome young Filipino man by the name of "Canteloupe" was super friendly, however, his English was about as smooth as a cinderblock in a washing machine. We tried 4 or 5 times to explain to him that we needed him to change the TV channel off of WWE, as my wife has PTSD from her professional wrestling days. As my wife was kicking, and screaming "DOUBLE BUBBLE TROUBLE" all he did was smile and nod at us, disappeared for a minute then brought back a dirty plate from the kitchen like he was presenting it to us. It was as if he was proud and needed approval of the plate. My stepson DeMarcus was crying, and it had been 45 minutes since we ordered, with no food in sight. Our waiter passed him a napkin with a note written on it saying "Gillette. Best a man can get" I was about to complain to the manager, but before I could, my step son's real dad, who goes by the name "LIL WAP" in the streets, kicked in the door, pushing over the bouncer, furious that I used his "child support" money to buy a Thanos funko pop. The waiter bravely stood in between him and I, gently laid his small, frail hands on LIL WAP's brolic, muscular chest, looked deep into his eyes and said "you no want you do a this one you can" and LIL WAP shook his hand. The whole restaurant clapped. My wife divorced me. read more

Monday night they have a wing special and it's worth it! Their cowboy sauce is the perfect amount of spicy and tangy. Pair that with their huge beer selection and some sports on their multiple TVs, and it's a perfect evening. Highly recommend! read more

Our app took 30 minutes to arrive. The portion was absurdly small. The pizza arrived 2 minutes later. Carter was an abysmal waitress. Forgot to bring us silverware and neglected us despite there being 4 other customers and 2 other waiters. What was once great is now terrible. read more

BE AWARE THE WAIT FOR A SINGLE PIZZA CAN RUN IN EXCESS OF 1 HOUR! Been wanting to come here badly since getting back into town, good selection of beers, but as it has be stated in other reviews, the time to get a pizza is astronomically bad. I have been here now for over an hour sans a single order of a pizza. Staff is nice but be aware the wait for food is RIDICULOUS. Having experience in two pizza places, I can attest it should not take this long. Not sure what the hold up is nor why there's really a delay to start with be be aware the wait is atrocious! read more

The food is amazing, the atmosphere is great. The service is pretty slow. The waiters/waitresses are pretty good but the bartenders seem to not care about any one and always have an excuse. read more

Overall a good experience! As soon as you walk in, there's a bar area with two pool tables. To the right of the entrance, is the main dining area. Food was pretty good, got the 16" pizza and it was definitely a lot to take in, so be sure to bring an appetite. The onion rings were a nice addition. At first, service was a bit iffy. Waited a bit before we got seated because no one was checking-in people at the front. Definitely not from my experience but just from what I saw from other customers, the servers could've been seen as rude but I saw it as them being straightforward and trying to manage multiple things at once. My waitress was super attentive and considerate. read more

Cogans gives a "locals only" vibe that could be because of all the college kids. Service can be hit or miss. Nothing terrible - just average. The Norfolk club sandwich with hot peppers is great. Pizza is good, too. I'd eat here more often if the ranch was homemade. read more

Wed pm dinner, 3.5 overall; table inside bc it was blazing hot outside. LOTS of draft beer taps to choose from; Sommer Fling never disappoints. Male server was nice but a tad slow...and soft spoken; food wait was pretty long as my cheese pizza came out and I was nearly done before friend's wings and sandwich dropped. We did watch baseball on the HDTVs to pass time. Pizza was hot with a firmly baked crust, perfect for supporting the generous amount of cheese, nicely balanced with regular sauce. Restrooms onsite with parking on street and a small lot in front of building. PRO TIP: they have $1 dine-in slices on Thurs pm. read more

Came here with family on a Friday night so it was reasonably busy. Service was there but a bit on the extra slower side. I got the Meat Lovers pizza while my boyfriend got the Supreme and his mom got the Super Man. Both the red sauce pizzas were a bit on the greasier side compared to her dish, which was a much lighter white pizza with a nice addition of pesto and sun-dried tomatoes. Would I come here again? Maybe. The food was okay but I guess I wouldn't mind giving this place a second chance one day. I'd just know to get a white pizza instead. Until next time... maybe. read more

One word... YUM! This place is great! Definitely a fun, divey, college pizza place/bar, the vibes were great! We called to place an order and the girl on the phone was adorable!! She seemed thrilled to be there and to me that's a great sign! When I went to pick up the order the parking spaces seemed very limited but if you turn the corner there are plenty more. It was quite busy but I expected that for a beautiful Friday night. The girl from the phone helped me pay for my order ( I believe her name was lex..sorry I never got your name!) and she was just as sweet as she was on the phone! She gave me a wait time and I happily stood to wait off to the side. There was a full bar and two big pizza ovens that you can see while you wait/eat. All of the staff were very kind and I waited just a few more minutes and the food was ready. It was delicious even after my 20 minute drive home!! We got a chicken parmesan pasta, garlic knots with garlic butter, and the supreme pizza (pepperoni, sausage, peppers and onions) with half no onions We will definitely be back!! :) read more

My friends and I had Goldia tonight as our waitress and she was FANASTICCCCC! Absolute queen we loved her. Food was amazing and was the perfect way to end our night. read more

To start off with, the staff have an extremely rude attitude and unashamedly unprofessional attitude. Front door staff seated myself and my 5 foot in height pregnant wife, in a bar stool table. Which she had to climb to enter. Waitress introduced herself and immediately went outside to talk with non staff friends and smoke. Coming back after 20+ minutes, when we told another staff member we were ready to order, to ask if we were ready to order before leaving again for another 20+ minutes. Food was sitting out before wait staff noticed. Ordered Boom Burger, not asked how wanted burger cooked. Buns were stale. 2/10. Do NOT recommend read more

This is the second time I've been to this restaurant. Once was with friends bar hopping on a weekend and there was no room for seating so after standing around watching others we left. Friday night we decided to try again for date night. This is not a date night place. The atmosphere is so loud you can't hear each other across the booth. We had a hard time hearing our waitress which ended up meaning only half our food arrived before she placed the rest of our order. The beer my husband selected tapped out and we couldn't tell if she was trying to tell us it would be a minute when they replaced it or if he needed to pick another one. When she came back asking if he picked something we realized it was the later. She said they usually wait to put something back in rotation for a week or so. The food itself was good. We planned to split a Mediterranean salad and a Spaceman pizza. When she came back I added a mushroom pizza because it just sounded delicious. She thought we were replacing the spaceman instead of adding to it which is why the spaceman came out after we ate half the mushroom pizza. The Mediterranean salad had bacon on top which wasn't in the description but I love bacon so it was a nice addition for me. For me this place might be better as lunch spot where it might not be too loud. If you live close, maybe opt for takeout. We live in NN so that doesn't really work for us. read more

This Cogans location definitely has the college town vibe as soon as you walk in the door. Musics just a little too loud so makes conversations hard to hear! There are seating options galore, outside, inside, a patio, bar, etc. the service was quick to seat us, and get our drinks and orders. The waitress was super awesome! Now for the food! There were tons of beer options and most of them were local. There was a little known option that ended up being the perfect meal, and that was the double slice. I got the Veggie specialty double slice and it was on point. I wish the pizza was a tad warmer and that's the only thing I would change. The slices were loaded and the perfect size without having to get a large pizza. read more

This place is delicious! I appreciate the vegetarian sub options and pizza toppings on the menu! Our waitress was friendly and for a Friday night it was rather slow! You wait to be seated and this location has a full bar and pool table. It seems like the crowd seated at the bar was the main attraction. They have several games on the mounted TVs. I was very impressed by the meat substitution options here! Very vegetarian and vegan friendly just clarify with your waiter what you want to order. I love that they sell by the slice as well so you don't have to get a whole pie. read more

Great atmosphere for game day. They do offer a beer flight - 4 options that are 8% or less. If you like ciders definitely try Tropicolada if you see it in the rotation. The burgers misleading - appear small but they are filling and flavor. Looking for some heat definitely get the boom burger This was my first time trying a non pizza item and I wasn't disappointed! read more

No bueno. Pizza tasted like it was a day old and reheated. Crust was dry and stiff as a board, cheese no life, sauce loaded with pepper (requested regular not spicey). Spaghetti and meatballs were laughable. No sauce on the balls. What? Dry brown rubber balls I say. Mediterranean salad Meh. $57 dollar bust. Back to Delveccios (they were closed tonight). read more

I really want to appreciate Cogan's, I really do. I understand it's been a local staple for years and with good reason, I'm sure. I've never actually eaten IN the restaurant, but taken out a few times and sampled a variety of menu items. The verdict: I enjoy their mushroom pizza and Mediterranean salad, and that's pretty much it. The other night, we ordered delivery: a margherita pizza for my fiancé, and chicken tenders for me. It was my first time ordering thin crust and I was disappointed to see the sparse toppings and lack of crust. It was more like a lavash, and pretty burnt, at that. The chicken tenders were tough and about 50% breading. Reminded me of something I could get at a bowling alley or skating rink. This is, after all, bar food - so take it with a grain of salt. I'm sure I'll still order here, but for select items only. Perhaps it's time to try the wings! read more

Holy smokes! What happened to this place? Cogans used to be THE place for amazing pizza. We went here since a bunch of us were nostalgic of how great the food was only to be completely shot down. I'll give the service credit where it's due. The bartender was super friendly and helpful to us. The facility definitely remind me of my college days and I'm not confident they've done much since then. However, after all this, the real disappointment was the food. I was originally going to do a philly cheese steak b/c that's my thing... but I'm at a pizza joint. "When in Rome"... right? So I ordered a pizza and man.. it was so far fetched from what it should've been. The crust was atrocious. The flour used was so thick that it over-powered the entire pizza. To make sure I wasn't the only one, I asked everyone else - yup... they were all shot down on the taste. I can see why the reviews of this place have fallen. If I were smashed back in my college days, I probably could hit this place up but overall.. nawh... I don't see me coming back anytime soon. Great pizza!!! Great atmosphere!!! Great drinks and even better service! Friday or Saturday night you can't go wrong coming here!!!

It's definitely a bar/night life scene here, but we were looking for lunch and decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server came right to the table with water and asked if we wanted something else to drink. Nice touch! I just wish they would skip the straws and ask if you want them. Hubby ordered sweet tea - warning, it's lemon flavored (he hates flavored tea), so I drank that. They serve Pepsi products, so he lived. We started with salads - Caesar for him and side salad for me with their garlic vinaigrette. They were both fresh, though his had too much Parmesan that overpowered the dressing (or the dressing wasn't that flavorful - not sure). Mine was spring mix (no plain iceberg here!), though the vinaigrette wasn't as flavorful as I expected. We ordered a 16 inch extra pepperoni & extra cheese (I forget what they call it on the menu) with mild sauce. This is not NY Style pizza, but that's ok. It was still tasty. The pizza had a little too much sauce on it for my taste, but it was good and there were even a few chunks of tomatoes in there. They definitely know how to do extra cheese! This is always a good thing in my book. All in all, the service was friendly and attentive and the meal was good. We'd visit again, probably just for lunch, as there were many other interesting things I'd like to try on the menu. Just not for dinner - I imagine they are packed at night. read more

I came in for pickup and was told by a table of idle employees my order would be 8 minutes and was told I could take a seat and wait for the order to come up. 20 minutes later I went to to the kitchen myself and asked if my order was ready and lo and behold it was getting cold. Writing an update to confirm that Del Vecchios has, in fact, grown on me, and is now running neck and neck with Cogan's North for pizza deliciousness in Norfolk. They're different pies -- Del Vecchios is NY style, thin and simple, while Cogan's has a thicker, puffy crust and more creative topping combinations. Garlic knots here are still killer, beer selection is still outstanding. Service has always been good when we visited, even though the vibe is definitely on the grungy/dive bar side. Since my previous review we've tried the rooftop patio, which is a good spot when the weather cooperates. It's covered and has its own bar (presumably for nights when it's busy enough to warrant its use.) read more

If I could give negative stars I would. The girl who took my order at the counter was very rude. And then we came back to pick up our order our friend "accidentally" brought in a drink from the bar next door. The bartender Rich came over in an aggressive way, if would have approached us in a kinder way our friend wouldn't have snapped back at him...and told my group of 8 to leave. At this point we walked out side without him having to tell us twice to the picnic tables so that we could finish the food that I paid for and he proceeded to call the cops on us and totally escalated the situation where it shouldn't have gone. He told us we went paying customers but my credit card statement says differently. I honestly want my money back and would suggest you get kinder staff. I'll be happy to speak with a manager in regards to the situation. read more
