    Tea tasting station
    Lien S.

7.10.26 - had today off to get some last minute things done before my trip and stopped here on my way home. The place is bigger than I expected. Very open space and bright inside. To the right, there is a tea tasting station with little dishes filled with different teas you can smell. Tea tasting has scheduled times so check their times for the next one! Next to it is a wall of items for sale. On the left is where you order and can watch them make your drink. There were already some people waiting for their drinks. All tables were filled but luckily no line when ordering, so it was quick for me! Two employees at the counter helped and they were very knowledgeable about the flavors of the different teas and explained the process as well. I was debating between the black teas. Wasn't sure what Cassia was and she told me it smells like vanilla. They have samples containers you can smell. She was right! The Cassia smelled sweet so I went for this one and chose the cream with taro ball. My drink was ready in about 8 mins and it was delicious! Perfect level of sweetness for me and the taro ball was so soft and chewy. I only wish it was a larger size for the price. $8 + $1 tip. Curious how the mousse option tastes so I'll have to try that another time.

Stopped by with family on Tuesday and we waited about 45 minutes in line to place our orders. My cousins went first and were given samples as they looked over the menu one more time at the register. The cashier was friendly, placed their order, and as my cousin was about to pay the cashier says it would be another 2 hours for them to get their two drinks... If we had known this from the beginning we would've NOT waited at all in line. We decided not to wait and left. The inside was hot and muggy as there were many people inside and the afternoon sun was hitting the building. Will be back eventually. The decor was very nice inside and the space felt clean.

(soft opening at time of review) This has been a highly anticipated opening after it was announced a few months ago and I think they picked a pretty good location being next to Chandler mall and just a mile or 2 from the ranch 99 plaza. I have had friends explain they waited around 1-1:45 hours on the first day and my visit was quite quick surprisingly. I went in with no line, and while the place itself was busy, the drinks didn't take too long and I was out in less than 30 minutes. The staff is friendly, and knowledgeable when it comes to explaining their teas and recommendations and offered an orange and lemon tea to sample. I can definitely see this place staying quite busy for awhile but don't let it deter you from going. The tea quality is good, the interior is clean and I enjoy their tea tasting.

I've been here twice now during their soft opening and have had an okay experience both times. The space is well kept so far, and the service for ordering is exceptionally efficient whether there is a line or not. There are two registers, and the people at the register are friendly and quick. The drinks are also made rather quickly despite how large the crowd is. Where it goes downhill is actually receiving the drinks. During my first visit, it wasn't busy, and I watched the employee handling my two drinks take 10 minutes to prep it--place the sticker, insert the drink holder, slide in the straw, and twist the strings. She was moving at the pace of a snail and was constantly distracted by a side conversation with another employee also stationed to prep the drinks. Today, it was incredibly busy, but again, everything was efficient until you're waiting for the drink to be called. They're well staffed, and I believe that's the reason why the drinks are made so quickly; however, despite there being 2-3 people stationed to prep the completed drinks, I waited nearly an hour to receive mine. I sincerely hope they figure this aspect out, because I anticipate them to remain busy for a while. 1. There's not a clear division of tasks; at one point, there was an order of 10+ drinks, and the only two people prepping were both working to bag the drinks while allowing 10+ additional drinks to stack up, waiting to be prepped and served. The bagging likely could've been completed by one person. 2. A third person stepped in to help, yet he had no idea how to prep it, and straws were falling all over the place when someone picked up their drinks. I watched him prep several drinks without calling out order numbers. 3. Drinks are prepped and the numbers are sometimes called out, but then they're left sitting there if no one retrieves it. There's maybe 1 or 2 follow-ups, but zero care whether the drinks actually get picked up, which resulted in at least 20 drinks sitting on the counter and many people waiting for longer than necessary. While there's responsibility on the customer's part to listen for their number, there should be a more effective way to notify customers when their order is ready. 4. Some numbers don't even get called (mine). I waited at least an extra 30 minutes unnecessarily because my number was never called. Additionally, my order number was still showing on the "in progress" list on the TV despite having been completed and sitting on the counter. It was prepped and ready to go, but no one called the number. It seems some people simply prep the drinks and do nothing to get the drinks out. My two points of feedback for the business: 1) Re-train the staff prepping the drinks. 2) Develop a better system for informing guests. The tv displaying what orders are in progress and complete is useless if it's not being updated properly, and it could be more effective if all order numbers fit on the screen. With only 10-12 numbers displayed, if you don't realize or wait for the screen to change, you may miss that your order is complete if they actually update the status. Having a single screen that shows all completed orders would be more guest-friendly. My recommendation for guests: Definitely check out this place--the drinks are phenomenal. My favorites are the honey osmanthus oolong (tastes like chrysanthemum tea) and the orange lemon pouchong tea (excellent, refreshing balance of orange and lemon). If you feel like you've been waiting an unusually long time for your drink, you probably are and should go check the counter, because it could just be sitting there.

Chicha San Chen is absolutely our favorite boba tea franchise! We've made it a tradition to visit whenever we travel, and so far we've enjoyed locations in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Chicago, Montreal, Singapore, and now Chandler. No matter where we go, the quality has been consistently outstanding. Originating from Taiwan, Chicha San Chen has spent more than 20 years perfecting the art of tea and is known for brewing each cup fresh to order using its exclusive patented "teapresso" brewing machine. One of my favorite things is watching the staff carefully prepare each drink. You'll often see them checking brewing temperatures with thermometers and paying close attention to ensure the control. Sometimes you'll see them sniff the yeast leaves. As someone who appreciates consistency (and maybe geeks out a little over quality control ), I love seeing that. Some locations even offer complimentary tea tastings, and many sell loose tea leaves so you can enjoy their teas at home. Depending on the location, you may also find limited seasonal or specialty series like taro or grape osmanthus drinks. While the Chandler location has a standard menu, there are still plenty of ways to customize your drink with different sweetness levels, ice levels, and toppings. A friendly warning: expect a wait! The line can be long, and even after ordering there's usually a bit more time while your drink is freshly brewed. Good tea takes time, and freshness matters in terms of aroma and flavor in my opinion. You wouldn't want your tea to be "tea-ribble," but the choice is yours so I'll "leaf" it up to you.

Recommend: absolute yes! Michelin drinks here! Service: everyone is so nice and happy to be here. They're still getting the flow so it's taking some time for the drinks to be ready. I notice their drinks are also slightly a bit too sweet when it's ordered with perfect sugar. Ambiance: love the design inside. Very clean, and the green adds a great calm, refreshing vibe. One of my favorite drink here is the Pouchong High Mountain Mango tea with Konjac bubble. I know about this place since they have one in California. So I'm very happy they open one here. I'll definitely be a regular here.

FYI: I missed it because it was over but a few times a day throug the day they have Tea tasting. It's NOT the tea they sell in the drinks. It's different types of tea only for tasting. The worker told me it's a special type of teas that are really hard to grow, so they only get harvested twice a year in Taiwan. You'll get to taste 5-6 different types of teas. After I ordered, the wait is about 15 mins. The staff are very nice and offered if I don't like the drink, they're happy to remake it. I got the Orange Lemon Pouchong Tea: it's very refreshing and creamy at the same time, tastes like a lemon sorbet. Also got the Black tea with cream. I like the tea flavor. You can taste the slight bitterness of the tea with the creaminess at the same time.

I went to Chicha Sanchen during their soft opening. It's located in the same area as the Chandler mall, not inside the mall, but at the shops surrounding it. In that same area is PF Chang's, Chipotle, etc, so there's plenty of parking, but the lot can get more hectic around lunch and dinner. It can throw you off a bit when you first walk in, because the counter that's closest to the entrance is for tea tastings, not for ordering. The next counter seems to be split, with one area for ordering and another for more tastings. At the ordering station, there's a menu that lays out the different combinations of drinks + flavors + toppings. There's also a section for their recommended drinks if you don't want to think too much about the combinations to get. The drinks are further customizable for sweetness level and amount of ice. Something I noticed about the sweetness scale is they only have 3 options: no sweetness, less sweet, and full sweetness. Other drink places usually also have a less sweet (~25%) and more sweet (~75%) on the scale. I opted for the less sweet option since drinks tend to skew on the sweeter side. They also only had 1 size option, which i would say is considered a small or medium at other places. When I ordered, the employee told me it was a 1.5 hr (!!) wait. It was a bit surprising to me, since it didn't look like there were that many people waiting at the time. She said I should receive a text when my order is ready so I know when to pick up. Instead of waiting at the store, I ran some errands in the area before coming back a little before the 1.5 hr mark. At this time, I hadn't received a text about my order being ready. At the pick up area, there are screens that show which order #s were completed and which were in progress. I didn't see my order on either list, but saw several orders after mine were already ready. I went to the pick up counter to show them my order number, and I was able to pick up that way. Each drink came with a cute holder, which was a typical sleeve for drinks, with twine attached to either side. I got a black milk tea with boba and green tea + mango flavor + coconut jelly. The milk tea was quite sweet, so I wonder what the full sweetness was. I would say their less sweet is probably the equivalent of 50% sweet. Not sure if it's possible for them to do even less sweetness. The boba was very chewy and the perfect texture! The mango green tea was not my favorite. It just tasted like regular green tea and I couldn't really taste the mango flavor. I would probably not get this combo again. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing special/exciting imo. They had some other combinations that I would love to try once the crowds die down a bit. When I went to pick up, I noticed it was much busier than before. Probably because people were getting off work and stopping by. For me, it was nice that I had errands to run in the area to pass the time. For those that are driving quite far to get here, I would recommend ordering, then grabbing a quick bite to eat nearby or perusing the mall. At least until it gets less busy. I never ended up getting a text about my order status. Not sure if this was a malfunction in the system or what. Considering this was the first day of their soft open, I thought they handled things quite well and maintained fairly good quality! The workers seemed to be very friendly even though it did seem quite stressful with all the orders and possibly customers being frustrated by the wait time.

Just as of today for soft opening, it was a line as expected. After waiting maybe 15 mins in line to order, I get a little explanation of Michelin stars for the black tea and green teas. You can add flavor and base to the tea which boils to about $8 a drink. I'm about to order 2 drinks after a small sample of black tea and then I get told that it's going to be 1 hour and 45 mins wait! What?! I expect a 3 to 5 course meal with that wait time! Wish I was told that when I was waiting in line. What a waste of time. I didn't prepare to wait that long. I'm sure the quality of the drink is high but I'll have to plan to eat during that wait time another day. They need some shade for the afternoon because it was hot and sweaty inside.

Overall good. Waited like an hour (indoors) for the drink on soft opening day. I think next time i'll get it slightly less sweet than perfect sweet. They did a good job managing the long line.

Checked out this new tea spot in the late afternoon during their grand opening day and loved it! All of the workers were so friendly and kind. The manager/owner was also very welcoming and helped to get the drinks out quickly. We got the high mountain pouchong tea with mango and you can really taste the tea notes. The green tea with passionfruit is also delicious and the boba was an excellent consistency. A fantastic experience and we can't wait to go back to try their other teas!

Went here for the first time. The tea tasted quite premium and it was great that we were able to taste test some before ordering. My husband really enjoyed the Dong Ding Oolong Tea with Honey and I ordered few Black Tea + Cream with Bubbles. The Bobba was quite nice, it was the right squishy and chewy for my liking. Overall the drinks were great. Can't wait for less crowd and less wait times.

There was a photo wall and seating for plenty of guests. The menu was straightforward, with specials listed on a board at the register. There were many tea and fruit options, with the availability for varying sweetness, ice, cream, or anything else to make your drink to your liking. I had actually gone in hoping that they had a Vietnamese coffee or something stronger, and ultimately chose the caramel boba latte. To try for the first time, I didn't adjust any of the sweetness and has it made originally. I did find it very sweet, and in the future would probably dumb it down a little bit. I felt that there was a fairly good value for your money, and service was so fast. The gal at the counter was very patient and kind with her customers. If in the area, I would definitely go to DaYung's Tea again.

This was the perfect way to cap off a great Saturday evening. Dayung is a solid space. I'll always be a fan.

There are usually a couple gals behind the counter, watching the screen while you place your order ... waiting patiently as you peruse their many choices, trying to decide which tea to order. They are super friendly and very helpful. This visit we ordered the ginger chai, vanilla bean cream latte. I preferred the ginger chai, but my sister thought hers was betters. Our second visit we ordered the orange bianco, along with the cream earl grey milk teas. Both also wonderful. Today we ordered the raspberry chocolate milk tea and cocoa cream matcha. I may sound like a broken record, but yes, they were wonderful. It is NOT a boba tea shop; it was, but no longer. Incidentally, if you come the "back" way, entering off Warner vs Dobson, the signage on the back side still says Ni Hao. :-) Since we've already visited them three times, I think it's pretty clear we would highly recommend their teas.

The croffles are also great. Some other cafes bog down their croffles with toppings and sugar, but here they put just the right amount. They're not cloyingly sweet. I highly recommend getting the sugar on the regular croffle. It caramelizes and adds a pretty sheen and crunch without taking away from the croissant base. It is very clean and quiet inside during less busy hours. TeaMakers has a medium-small amount of seating featuring both hard table tops and a comfy couch sitting area. With their current setup, you can fit a group of up to 4 at their biggest tables. TeaMakers & Company excels in everything already despite being so newly opened.
