I've been here a few times over the years. They have a lot of big names that come through. The parking sucks because it's part of the mall and there are restaurants nearby. I think if they were a stand alone building, the parking would not be as awful. After you park, they have two lines going into the building. One is general admission and the other is VIP. General admission was on the left and VIP was on the right. They are not labeled. VIP just means that you sit closer to the stage. Seats are like first come first serve. Btw when it is busier, they have people sitting in front of you at each table. They fill each table to the max. In general, I would recommend lining up at least 30-40 mins before the show begins, for better seating. After you sit down, you have to order two items per person. We just ordered two drinks each. It's kind of an asinine rule but I guess that's how they make their money. We ordered food in the past. Ever since then, we just grab food nearby before coming. Food was okay here. The drinks are not bad, the glasses are a good size so you can sip on it throughout the show. Service was good, although it could be better. It took awhile to receive our drinks. Depending on the comedian, you can get a free picture or you have to pay for one. Overall, it's like a 3.5 experience but 5 stars for the comedian. Meh, I'll give it 4 stars. read more

First Time In This Place watching a comedy show. We watched Jr De Guzman and he was so funny I didn't expect that very thankful that my friend invited me to go to the show we were in the second row table and the ticket was $53 which is super worth it. Parking was in an issue the place is small their stairs but there's also an elevator which I like the fact that it is small because it's more intimate that way and the comedian can actually interact with the audience. We didn't really try the food but there is a two drink minimum or an order of food so we just did two drinks it's a bit pricey so just need to expect that. The service was great the our server was always there checking up on us and asking what we needed so that's also a good thing. Will definitely come back and see more shows here. Went to see Shular King Sunday night and it was a treat! The MC and opening comedians were awesome and hilarious! They warmed up the crowd for Shular indeed! Shular was fantastic! Great time, he was hilarious and we definitely need to laugh more! We enjoyed our first time here! It's a 2 item minimum (drinks OR food) which is cool. We aren't drinkers all the time and we drove 45 minutes so we didn't wanna drink. We ordered food and it was good! We had a Caesar salad, seasoned fries, cheeseburger eggrolls and a brownie sundae. All tasted great! Looking forward to catching another show soon! read more

I've been to this location a few times. My last time we went here I was stuck behind a pole so it was a bit awkward to see the comedian. Despite that I still came out to see the JR de Guzman show and it was amazing! It was a smaller show because it was on Mother's Day, so they sectioned off the area - so no worries about being stuck behind a pole this time! You do have to order food during the show. We just got nachos, fries, and a couple of drinks. The fries are very tiny - would recommend getting something else if you are actually hungry. Also noted that they have sound assistance for hearing impaired. Really enjoyed the show - always great to see really talented comedians at this locale rather than going to a giant arena! read more

I've been a fan of comedy since I was old enough to smile, and I've been supporting comedy clubs like this one for over 20 years. I spend my hard-earned money here often, and customers like me help keep this business open, keep shows running, and help pay the staff. As the cost of everything keeps rising -- from ticket prices to surcharges to taxes -- we continue spending our dollars because we love the experience. Our money matters. But this weekend was different. Illinois and Wisconsin both reported record-breaking snowfall. From Saturday through early Sunday morning, we had over 11 inches of snow in my area. Roads were dangerous, snowplows couldn't keep up, cars were crashing, and a weather safety advisory was issued telling us not to travel. I'm also handicapped, and my car was completely snowed in along with every local street. Because of this, I reached out to the Improv management team for updates about the Corey Holcomb show nov 30 830pm show to be exact. Nothing was posted on the website, so I emailed explaining my concerns. No one responded. The day of the show, I called and asked to speak to the box office manager. The woman who answered -- a Caucasian manager who introduced herself as Christina -- was extremely rude. She talked over me, refused to hear my concerns, and initially didn't even want to get on the phone. When she finally did, she dismissed everything I said. Despite us getting 11 inches of snow -- the worst since 1951 -- she told me, "We paid Corey to be here, so deal with it. It's winter." I was shocked. Corey has resources, drivers, and support. I don't. I was traveling two and a half hours away, and when I bought my tickets four months ago, nobody -- not me, not her, not Corey -- could have predicted this storm. Instead of empathy, she basically told me my situation was my problem. What hurts most is knowing that I work hard just like everyone else, and these shows are recreational -- we don't have to support them. In an economy where prices are climbing, jobs are disappearing, and people are losing what they have, the bare minimum a business should offer is empathy and understanding. But this management team showed neither. I spend on an average $150 on your watered-down drinks, your overcrowded seating, your uncomfortable arrangements, and food so basic you don't even offer cheese on your tacos. It takes 40 minutes just to get a napkin even on a half-packed night. Yet management acts like customers owe them something, instead of realizing we are the reason they have jobs at all. Ma'am, you should be humble. Positions of authority can disappear in an hour. When you leave your job and spend your own money somewhere, I guarantee you expect to be treated with respect. That's exactly what I deserved when I reached out with a legitimate concern. Management is supposed to know service recovery, to handle issues with tact, professionalism, and care. You showed none of that. You weren't personable, friendly, or empathetic -- and you came across as prejudiced on top of it. When I asked for corporate information, you refused to provide it. So I hope corporate sees this message, because I will make sure people know how their loyal patrons are being treated. A person with your attitude should not be representing this establishment -- you'd be better off packing boxes in a storage facility, somewhere far away from customers you clearly don't respect your brand or those who patronize it at best ! read more

*PRO TIP* If you don't know where you're going, do NOT put in their address to your GPS. Put in the address for P.F. Chang's at the mall and it'll take you to the right place. The box office shared this tip after I called because we walked around the mall for 30 minutes. The venue is cool and has a nice vibe. There is an elevator and ramps for those with ADA needs. There was an abundance of staff at every checkpoint to help you along your way. I recommend reserving seating if it is an option. We were sat on the booth side of a 4-top table. Eventually there were 2 strangers facing us an eating before the show. A little weird and quite the obstruction. Pick a seat up front or next to the raised seating areas. The food, for us, was goid and bad. I ordered a burger, it was $18 and came with good seasoned fries. The burger was the thinnest burger I've ever had. It looked good on its way to the table because of the large bun, but portion was minimal. I was hungry right after eating still. My wife got mozzarella sticks. They were hand breaded in house and thick. She was happy and satisfied. Our drinks were also good and bad. I got an Absolut cocktail and she got a Bacardi cocktail. Hers was strong and mine was not. $15 and $16 respectively. Soda was $7, was not charged for refills. Overall, we paid $77 for our 2 eats, 2 drinks, and a soda. A little pricey, but befitting the venue. I was a little perturbed with the obstructed view, but it could've been worse. The show was great! The headliner we went to see was Craig Conant. He was hilarious, worth every penny. We even got a free meet and greet and photo with him after. A really cool guy. Takeaway... dont order the burger. It has been awhile since I have been to a show but we have been here several times for special events, like the annual SBA morning Holiday event. The comedy is always a highlight of the morning. There are so many great seats where you can see and hear who is on the stage. A night at the Improv is sure to be a fun time and every show is slightly different, depending on the performer and audience. Expect to pay typical prices and taxes for Schaumburg, but the food and drink is good here and nice staff working hard to make the customer experience safe, fun and memorable for all. Parking can be a challenge during a popular show so arrive early to get a spot where you don't have to walk a long way, especially during cold and icy months. The show itself was great, the staff and venue not so much. GPS did not give right location, parking lot was also full; had to walk through the mall with little signage to find the venue. When we arrived (30 mins after doors opening) there was only one attendant in the window entrance who was on the phone. She never acknowledged us, so eventually we just walked ourselves downstairs. Turns out we wasted our time waiting up stairs, because the ticket reviewer was downstairs. Someone else then asked us if we were VIP or general and showed us to our seat. We found it odd they didn't confirm tickets purchased with seat location, in the event the show was sold out (which it was). We were general admission at $35 per ticket and sat at a two person table, booth seats facing the stage. Before the show started suddenly all the tables turned into 4 person allowance. This wouldn't be a big deal if the tables weren't already inches apart and the chairs were staggered so everyone can see. To make matters worse, the staff would not kneel down during the show and kept blocking any possible view and at times even watching the show. The openings sets started at the show time listed; there is no reason to arrive two hours early. It was a great show, but 4 drinks (one mixed drink, two beers, and one seltzer) was over $50 dollars. If you're going to come here, get discounted show tickets closer to show time and avoid over diluted/ terrible tasting mixed drinks. read more

It's a very cool comedy place where you see soo many photos as you walk in of amazing talented comedians from when I was young. The food is very good as well as the drinks. It was so good I forgot to take a photo of it. The waitress are quick and very attentive and very nice. That's always important for a good tip. The venue is not a bad time. They have friendly staff on site. The table arrangement is a bit weird because they have some seats that have their back to the stage in order to maximize table space. So when the comedian stars you have to turn your chair around. Also what I don't like is all hidden fees and ways the venue makes extra.. We bought like 10 tickets for a group of us for over $50 a ticket (after crazy service charges) ) ahead of time, with all the fees. Well a couple days later the venue put the same show up for only $10. Wow, we emailed asking if they can of something for us to make wit right, of course they just said all sales are final and you're out of luck. I guess the comedian wasn't selling out, which is weird because it was an amazing show. Whats even worse is on top of this they have a two drink minimum. So you have to factor that into the ticket. This theater is unfortunately outside of the city for us city peeps, but can be a fun night out too! They are located in the mall but next to multiple restaurants so easy to catch dinner or a drink in area. The service is excellent! They staff well and have at table ordering which I Love! Always come out for John Heffron as a loyal fan! Safe area so easy to hit a night show and miss traffic back to city also. Often can find discounted tickets on platforms for shows also! Was here this afternoon for a flip phone entertainment drag show. Upon arriving we taken to the VIP area, as that's what the tickets we had were. We then had to wait a few minutes because they didn't have two tables next to each other. They had to move a table of 3 to the other side. We gave our drink orders. We were brought our drinks pretty promptly. As soon as we had our drinks we placed our food order. The food was a huge problem. Our food was all brought out at different times. 3 of us didn't have food until the show was about to end/over with. Our waitress was amazing. She kept apologizing and was so embarrassed. We were like it's fine we know it's not your fault. Once our bill came out she removed two meals which was nice and we weren't expecting that at all. The business was not equipped for the amount of people or orders placed. They should have limited the menu or something to help the kitchen as we were not the only table who experienced problems. Also bring ear plugs. I love concerts so I'm used to loud music but this was really loud for this small space. read more

I had no idea there was a comedy club at Woodfield Mall until yesterday. I snagged last minute tickets to a Friday night show. Before the show we walked around the mall and realized you can't get to it from the inside which is probably why I hadn't know this place existed. You have to walk outside and re-enter through their own doors. For a 7pm show, we arrived around 6pm to get seats. Seats are first come first serve but there are staff that bring you to your table. Surprisingly, most tables seat four people and since last night was a sold out show we were seated with strangers which I didn't love. The stage is also off to one side of the room so some of the tables are pretty far away. The show was great. There was one opener. Some parts got a little slow but overall a good way to warm up the crowd before the main act. Last night Godfrey was the main act. I hadn't known him before the show but he was great! Impersonations were definitely his strong suit. As for the food and drinks, so many cocktails caught my eye. I tried the strawberry whisky sour but unfortunately did not love it. It was super strong. For my second item I tried the vodka pasta which was very simple but also good. I wish it came out a little earlier cause I felt awkward eating my meal in the dark while trying to listen to the act. read more

Great place to unwind and literally laugh your face off. I went to see Pablo Francisco's show and had a really good laugh from one of the openers, Dustin Ybarra. This place is huge, much bigger than the one in Brookfield, WI. The drink selection was great. Being a short person, it can get a little tricky seeing the stage from one of the booth seats, you have to move a little to see the stage. Staff did a good job tending to our drink needs. I'd rate this a 5 star if they served eco friendly straws. Not a big fan of plastic straws. And no extra superfluous straws needed. I gave back all straws except one used by the group. Great place to spend a funny evening out if you're up for it! Get there early to avoid the line. The stage is downstairs and can get crowded. Two item purchase minimum! Pretty good food, fair price, entertaining show , great parking! Improv comedy club is a great place for a date night, party with friends, or celebration. Typically 3 comedians go up, 2 starters and one headliner. This particular night Dave Williamson was performing and he kept us entertained the whole night! All in all a solid comedy club, nice venue, and very attentive service, and a comprehensive menu where you can sit and eat. In the future would love to see more people do sets like on a rotation but I understand it's typically more of a place prominent performers give longer sets. I would give 5 stars if every single performer was equally funny or one person got me to cry laugh but typically 2/3 are fairly funny on average I think. read more

The food used to be OK now the food is terrible .french fries they're nine dollars and that just comes with ketchup if you want sour cream it is three dollars bacon three dollars just ridiculous everything is itemized even with the burgers . the drinks are even worse, especially for the Price you pay .just eat elsewhere before you go. Everything is dry overcooked .there is no more calamari. there is no more chicken with bone in just very disappointed I've tried everything on the menu. I brought my husband to see a show here for his birthday, and coming in, I had no idea what to expect. You come into the doors and head straight downstairs where they will scan your tickets. We arrived early to order food, however, you can also order during the show. The service was good, but the food was not worth the cost. There is a 2 item per person minimum on top of the price of tickets, so I would recommend just ordering drinks and eating before or after the show somewhere else. The club was very clean and spacious, and it was decorated pretty modern. We also enjoyed the comedians we saw, but that doesn't necessarily reflect on the club since comedians come and go. I went here for the Alyssa Edwards Comedy and Drag tour and wow this was a dream come true. The Improv comedy club experience is like going to the city, it's so much fun! The experience was organized, clean, the staff were friendly and service was quick. The food options were basic but all very delicious. I do have some critiques though that I think the Improv Comedy Club could improve upon. 1. We did the Alyssa Edwards meet and greet and it was so cool! My partner and I were shuffled into a side room with velvet ropes to get in line. Which that's fine but the main area to take the photo with Alyssa was in the corner with no banner, no screen, just a fan and a light. I don't know what they are called specifically but I think Chicago Improv should invest in a patterned screen that shows their logo and whenever a celebrity comes, they can put the screen up and photos can be taken in front of it. Kind of like the green screens they use in Vegas. It would be so nice! Also there's a retro tv on the corner of the room that looked like it was going to fall on the floor. Why is it still around? Overall it was a fun experience to meet Alyssa, but that meet and greet just seemed a little lacking on the Improv Club's part. Like at least have that area be more welcoming to celebrities and guests. 2. The stage had multiple performers before Alyssa performed and some of the performers left behind water or something. When it came time for Alyssa to perform, she made it a point to say that the stage was soaked and that her stool was missing. I feel like these are the responsibility of the comedy club to make sure that everything runs smoothly for the performers because that could be a huge safety concern. It could also be part of the comedy skit but I couldn't really tell the difference and I was more concerned for Alyssa's safety. 3. I don't know how often this happens, but there were times when we couldn't see what the performers were doing because they would perform at different parts of the room. How difficult would it be to install projectors or TV's that have cameras on the stars that way audience members don't have to frantically search the room for their performers? 4. The DJ at the end of the performance kind of just went radio silent. It was kind of awkward because the performers were like "uh DJ where did you go? Where's the music?" The show host took over and was like "it's okay we don't need music, let's just go ahead and give our bows" and that was nice and quick for her, but still, what happened to the music? Why did the music cut to silence for so long? That was kind of awkward. What was the disconnect? Overall for my first time here at improv it was a blast and I would definitely come back again. I still can't believe Alyssa Edwards performed here and I am so glad that we got the chance to see her live. Alyssa Edwards is an international drag queen sensation and seeing her face on the improv advertising just blew my mind. I'm shocked that she performed in Schaumburg and I'm glad we didn't have to drive to the city, because the city can be a pain sometimes with traffic and the lack of hide speed rail. But anyway, thank you improv comedy club for the amazing experience! Thank you for giving me a dream come true by meeting Alyssa Edwards. And next time, try to show more pride for your stars and try to figure out ways to better decorate your experiences. I do want to give a shoutout to all the security and service staff for their excellent service. I felt safe, coordinated, and very supportive. You can tell the staff here really care about their roles and they all want everyone to have a great time. I wasn't treated like a ticket number, I was treated like a genuine person and everyone there made sure to give my partner and I the time of day. Really enjoyed the show and food! This was my first time attending a comedy show and I was not disappointed.

I randomly checked out a comedy show here a while back. Tommy Davidson was performing and though I've never been a fan, a reliable source swore his live stand-up was next level. Sad to report it was terrible. ..not the venue, but Tommy. He clearly phoned it in. Usually comics work out material in clubs across the country. Tommy hasn't been relevant for a very long time, but it was also clear he freestyled his set. That isn't inherently a bad thing, but it was that night. I've seen Sinbad live and I couldn't believe he was that funny. I was expecting stale outdated jokes, but he was razor sharp. He freestyled his set and interacted with the crowd in an organic conversational way. Tommy should consider taking notes. Back to the Improv Comedy Club. ..There was a long line before entering, but the staff managed well. The club is very nice inside, not sure if it's been remodeled recently. Drinks weren't craft, but nice strong pours. The food was also surprisingly good. Do your research before buying tickets. If you don't have good time it won't be because of the venue. read more

I attended a show recently and I was appalled at the level of simple courtesy of both the doorman and his manager. Firstly, I should add that I'm handicapped and have severe mobility issues. In fact every member of my party (, and there were 3 of us) were and are disabled. We showed up for the 9:30pm show and people were lining up. I and another member of our group approached the doorman relaying that we could not wait in line as we were disabled. He told us to have a seat, he indicated a sitting area and he would let us know when we could enter. So we see the line was about to start entering and we approach the same doorman who now tells us one of us needed to wait in line that he couldn't just let us in. We told him that is not what he told us 20 earlier! He told us to wait in the seated area! Additionally, none of us are physically able to stand in line. That now we had to get in line at the end of the line!!! We told him we were disabled and he was making accommodations. What accommodations was he making by making us wait until everyone that arrived after us was let in!?! We told him again we could not WAIT in line standing up- none of us! He told us that anybody could say they were handicapped; doubting our disabilities! Really!!! Now I'm being told, you don't look disabled!!! We asked to speak to his manager. The manager came out with a very defensive attitude and after some back and forth he told us to have a seat near the entry in black seats none of us had previously seen. Eventually, we were let in and escorted to our seats. The comics were funny but I was no longer in any form of laughing mood after the entire ordeal. We usually go to Zanies in Rosemont and were trying Improv out as a first time thing. NOBODY EVER APOLOGIZED! I will not be returning and will just go to Zanies! read more

This is an excellent venue to see comedy. One suggestion, get there early as seating is first come first serve.

You might be tempted to overlook this spot because it's at Woodfield, but that's a mistake. I've caught two shows here and I would highly recommend it. There's plenty of room inside and a full service menu. Getting in and out of the venue is super easy. The only downside is if you arrive early there's no guarantee that the bar will be open to catch a drink before the show. However, there's obvi plenty of places nearby that you can grab something at before hand if you're early. read more

Came here for the first time to catch Margaret Cho and absolutely love everything about this place. It's intimate, clean, while also being way more spacious than I thought it would be. We got in line inside and promptly were seated once the doors opened. The table arrangements in our section were a little tight, but nothing uncomfortable. Our server came around right away to take our order. We only ordered drinks but our server was great about checking in on us. The food on the menu was very pub-like so take that into consideration if you do decide to eat here. The overall show was great - lots of laughs and can't believe the talent that they're able to bring in for a somewhat random place at a suburban mall! read more

Our group usually attends shows here twice a year and the comedians are always great! We have been doing this for over 10 years. However, the prices for drinks are outrageous. One drink special plus a vodka/Red Bull was $48 before tip. My cousin ordered one drink and it was $25. This forced us not to drink during dinner and we agreed this would be the last show for us as a group. We can stay in the city if we want to pay those prices. I am currently here unable to fully enjoy the show. I was horribly disrespected by a waiter named Allen Sanchez. I am so shocked and appalled that a well known establishment like Improv even employs someone with such a strong lack of respect for their customers. I simply asked for a glass I won after a scan & win, and because the first waiter failed to give me the right gift ( gave me vip tics instead) Allen Sanchez refused to give me my glass. Nevertheless, he took the 3 vip tickets the waiter before him left. When I asked for his name to write a review because of him taking the tickets, refusing to give the glass I actually won, and being totally rude and disrespectful he got in my face rolled his neck and screamed Allen or Alex Sanchez and began to spell it out. The resolve: the manger gave us the glass we won and should have been given initially, assigned a new waiter, and offered us water. This was my experience as a female customer with a male waiter.
