I was never informed about this fee, was explicitly told it's a trial with free return during that period, and I was pressured to sign an agreement on the spot without being given time to read or understand it, which is outright illegal. The customer service was the worst I've ever encountered. Dr. Brienne Honan falsely claimed I was told about the fee, even though she wasn't even present when I signed. She appears willing to say whatever is necessary to protect the business, regardless of the truth. I returned to the office over nine times because I still couldn't hear in real-world settings (non-Bluetooth), and they still couldn't fix the issue. So I asked for something covered by my insurance to which they said no - they only want to sell Phonak and oticon. They have no empathy and did not care that I was crying to them that I couldn't hear (wouldn't even offer a tissue from the box on her desk). After spending thousands of dollars and receiving no real support, I can't in good conscience recommend this place. The manipulation, dishonesty, and lack of accountability speak volumes. Dr. Honan does not have the attitude for customer-facing service. She escalated and made everything worse.

James first checked my ears and we discovered a wax build up deluxe. He offered to clean out the wax, which I allowed him to do. Voila, hearing improved. He then gave my hearing aids a thorough tune up. He indicated we needed a new hearing test, which he administered. He then electronically adjusted my hearing aids to fit my current hearing profile. He concluded by changing the output wires on both hearing aids. All for no charge, explaining that is part of the service we pay for when we buy from Hearing World. James was just terrific--knowledgeable, caring and very thorough. You can find cheaper hearing aids elsewhere, but I challenge anyone to find a more knowledgeable and caring crew than at Hearing World. Lowest cost does not mean best value. If you want the best value, go to Hearing World.

Though the Pazio institute is in Chicago I've never had a problem getting the care I need from so far away. I began care because of a history of slight energy problems, memory issues, a history of many concussions (likely linked with the aforementioned) and a desire to optimize my health. That being said I am and was a very active healthy person with a diet that was super dialed in. I'm also a doctor in a health field so I have a good background to work from. I felt very comfortable choosing Dr. Alex for this reason. There are so many things That have impressed me about The Pazio Institute including: the diverse and expansive background Dr. Alex has in all realms of health, the wholistic foundation of the office, the helpful/knowledgeable staff, and Dr. Alex's warm personality and sincere interest in helping his clients. He truly is an incredible human being and doctor! The results of my health optimization journey so far have included: chelating out heavy metals (we discovered I had high levels of lead), I've optimized my supplements to make sure I'm getting all the nutrients I need and not storing problematic things I don't need (We discovered a couple of mild/common genetic anomalies that can be easily managed if monitored), and I did a mental acuity test to see if all area of my brain are functioning properly after having several concussions in my life. All of the care has resulted in me having more energy, better memory, and I don't have to worry about a high chance of getting Alzheimer's now.
