After all the food issues I had today, I finally had a great dine-in experience! I guess what they say about saving the best for last is true ... This was a cool place to dine-in. Lots of stuff to look at on the walls, and I love that! I think this is a place would Chicagoans could leave stuff, and memorabilia, and what not, on the wall. I'm not too sure about that, but that was the vibe I got. I'm pretty sure some celebrity stopped by and left something for them. But, they were kind of busy. It was about 6:45pm. The booths were full when I walked in, and people were coming in-and-out to pick up orders. I could tell that this is a popular place, and now I know why! I had one of the best hot dogs here!!! It had onions, tomatoes, relish, and a pickle. I never had a hot dog like that before. I've always seen them and would always say I'd try one, but I never did until today. But, I'm glad I was able to try one, and it was probably one of best one I'll ever have lol and the fries were delicious too! Good potatoes fried to perfection! The meal was a 10/10. We went here for a friends birthday. It was a Saturday night and it was busy but not crazy. There are quite a few tables so we were easily accommodated. The only reason for my 4 and not 5 is that I have celiac disease and they were pretty clueless on whether certain items contained gluten and weren't really interested in finding out. In truth that's exactly what I expect from an old school place like this. It feels a little shame on me for eating here but I was celebrating a friend so hey what are you gonna do? I ended up with the Frito pie (I know, I'm so brave) after several questions about what was in the chili. It was delicious and I didn't get sick. To be on the safer side, those with gluten intolerances could try items like the chicken salad, tuna salad, burgers and dogs without buns and chips. The fries ALWAYS share a fryer- ugh, can't escape that. Great place, great prices, just not the best option for me personally. read more

I have been going to this place for years. It is delicious and you will not find a better decorated interior of a restaurant than this. The wall is covered in Chicago memorabilia and if you are from there, this will cure you homesickness. The sliders are simple, tasty, and for a great price. They come with onions, mustard, ketchup, and pickles. It's around $3 for a slider and they will fill you up quicker than you expect. I highly recommend getting their Garlic Fries. It is probably the best side on their menu and is unique. Not a lot of restaurants have garlic fries and no one does it like Chicago Hamburger Company. The people who work here have a ton of passion for the restaurant which is what you love to see. Their hours are not ideal so check their website to make sure they're open. I finally found a place that has true Chicago hotdogs as good as the one I had in Chicago. I've gone to other "Chicago" restaurants and had a hotdog, but was never truly satisfied until now. If you haven't been to Chicago Hamburger, I highly recommend it if you want really good Chicago hotdogs. They have a different special every day, all their hotdogs come with fries, the fries are really crispy, and the staff is super friendly. This review is based on only their shakes, as we haven't eaten their food here yet! I'm a vegetarian so I didn't know what options there were and I was pleased to note the menu said veggie burger when I was ordering the shakes. I do want to come back for the food. But let me tell you about these shakes. I got a peanut butter banana and then also a peanut butter shake (we actually had asked for just banana but it's okay!) and they were creamy and decadent, but not too sweet. The peanut butter is clearly fresh with chunks of peanuts and the banana had to be fresh and was amazing. I am hooked and will for sure be coming back here to order a banana shake and I also would love to try a chocolate banana shake! Any combo is going to knock your socks off. Take a short trip to Chicago, you won't be disappointed. Tables, counters, floors, and bathroom were clean. Concession area was well organized and stocked. Decor is fun, mainly made up of Chicago knickknacks. Restaurant temperature was just right. Dining in clientele was primarily hard labor workers, while to go orders were primarily picked up by retirees. Steady flow of customers coming and going, very popular. Parking lot was small, so you may need to park on the street. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and quick to bring condiments we asked for. All staff members wore uniforms and were clean in appearance. No one wore any overbearing scents. All ordered items had a great presentation. Burger was at a good temperature. Zucchini fries were scalding hot, so they needed a minute to cool. Garlic fries could have been warmer and fries could have been crispier. Burger could have been a little more seasoned, but was overall delicious and its ingredients were fresh. Garlic fries were topped with minced garlic, so they had a huge punch of garlic flavor. Overall, the meal was wonderful and definitely worth the price. On my next visit, I will probably try the coleslaw or the chili cheese fries. I was fortunate enough to stumble into this place on the way home from a workout. I walked in and my attention was immediately drawn to all of the Chicago memorabilia plastered on the walls. I was lucky enough to come in a little past lunchtime when there wasn't too much of a rush which gave me the chance to sit and take it all in. I ordered a barbeque chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink. The food only took 8-10 minutes and the customer service was fantastic. The chicken was grilled to perfection and had just the right amount of sauce. I also like how they didn't load the sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes. For all the White Castle fans in AZ that haven't been to Old Chicago Hamburger Co, it's a shame. I grew up on White Castle and have a fond place in my heart for them, however, if you haven't been eating Windy City sliders for decades in AZ you have missed out. I love the sliders and hot dogs served up here. Not to mention, the Wednesday and Saturday Schreiner bratwurst special. The brat is piled high with sauerkraut and brown mustard on a poppy seed bun. Then they give you a huge portion of perfectly salted and crispy fries. Just writing this has me drooling... My hubby sticks to the classics; a sack of cheese sliders with chili cheese fries or fried zucchini, and their famous chocolate banana shake. Their shakes are so thick you have to use a spoon! They even have the original pizza puffs on their menu. All the Chicago transplants living in the valley know what I am talking about. So the down side, this restaurant is tiny and the parking lot is treacherous because it is small and you get traffic pulling in from three directions. For this reason we always pick up and don't dine in. They are open 6 days a week and close before 8pm each night. So plan accordingly before you head over. Check them out sometime! read more

First time in the area, I was planning on going to some typical west coast fast food places, then I drove past Chicago hamburger. I knew by the age of the sign and the fact that the parking lot was full that it was gonna be good. The fries and onion rings were crispy and the service was excellent.
