Love the energy. Me and my dad had seen this place on YouTube early this morning actually, and we immediately knew we needed to try it. I love the energy and atmosphere and it feels very welcoming even just walking up to the door. The server was very kind and friendly and he was very easy to talk to. Everyone in the kitchen works fast too, the wait time is very ideal for a sit-down restaurant. Now for the food itself, it was amazing. We had gotten the original burger, and double sliders with a side of fries and onion rings. I'm normally not a fan of onion rings, as I am a picky eater, but the flavor and texture of the rings here was just so spot on that I can already tell nowhere else will ever compare. The fries were perfectly salted, not too much and not too little. They had a perfect crisp to them too. The sauces weren't watery either, which I appreciated always. The burger itself was literally the bomb. It had the perfect amount of everything. I typically feel some places put tomatoes on burgers and the tomatoes just get to be too overpowering and out of place, but over here, they're very complimentary with all the other flavors you taste when you take a bite. The sliders were pretty simple, but still very enjoyable especially for a small bite if you aren't feeling an entire burger. Overall, 10/10. I rolled into Chicago Hamburger Co. on a Friday morning around 10:30am purely because I was craving a burger and everyone else acts like food doesn't exist until 11. Bless this place for being open and ready to work. First impression: it's totally unassuming from the outside, but inside it's like a little Chicago time capsule... sports on the TVs, Ms. Pac-Man, a claw machine, and walls covered in nostalgia. Plenty of seating, and the soundtrack was basically a "dad rock hall of fame" in the best way (Bob Seger, Wet Willie, Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers). It's the kind of background music that makes your fries taste better. Science. Now the important part: I went wide on the menu. Vienna Chicago Dog Plump, juicy, and loaded with the legit Chicago-dog toppings. It hit that "this is the real deal" vibe immediately and it came with a generous side of fries (we'll get to those). Fries Crispy outside, soft inside, and seasoned perfectly light salt, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you "just need a few" and then realize you ate half the basket without thinking. Frito Pie This took me straight back to high school snack shack days... except this version grew up and got a better job. The chili was higher quality, great meat-to-bean ratio, and the consistency was perfect: not too thick, not soupy, just enough to coat the Fritos and grab onto those chopped onions like it was designed for it. Double Slider with Cheese (add bacon) *star of the show* This thing was dialed in. The beef was cooked perfectly...tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Cheese melted like it meant it, caramelized onions were placed like someone actually cared, and there was a crisp crunch from what tasted like house-made pickles. And the bun... I don't know if they bake it in-house, but it tasted fresh and unbelievably soft, toasted just right. One bite and I understood why people talk about them being around since 1975, they earned it! Service was quick, friendly, and no-nonsense in the best way. I'm definitely coming back. After a trip to the VA I was hungry like a Hostage. I saw the sign and love All things Chicago so I opted for a peak inside and rolled the dice on lunch. A hidden gem was found. This place has been around for as long as I can remember. My Dad used to take me here when I, as a kid, I would go to work with him and I continued that tradition on to my son. I live in the east valley now but any time my buddy and I find ourselves in the Phoenix area we HAVE to stop for some sliders and fries. The sliders are and always have been the best but the fries? ESPECIALLY if you dine in, are probably the best I've ever had. The funny thing is that I've been coming here for probably 50 years and I always tell myself I'm going to try the Italian beef or an Italian sausage but all I've EVER eaten here IS the sliders and fries. I'll have to try some other stuff to report back. The staff is always great and the owner is super cool. I'm not sure if they still offer it but they use to have a deal where if the Cubs OR the White Sox ever win the World Series, he gives free sliders to everyone that comes in the next day I think it is. I think he told me the last time it was 3 to each person, and I would imagine that would be a lot of sliders. He always has a cool story to tell as well about his business, his decor, or people he knows that might happen to be at the joint that particular day like he did the other day when I was there. Anyway, it's a tiny little place but it's a great little place. The fries alone pull 5 stars but pretty much everything about this little gem merits acknowledgement! read more

I introduced two coworkers to CHC today and they've been converted. They both grew up in two separate African countries-Burundi and Somalia, and have only been in the country about 7 years, combined. To them, McDonalds and In-N-Out were their standards for a good burger place. And they were convinced that those were awesome. Enter me. The foodie. The food snob. I own it and I'm not ashamed. lol. We got individual Bob's Big-Ass Burgers (a must) cut in half, garlic fries (extra crispy and fantastic) and milkshakes. The milkshakes came first and my friend was amazed. She got a strawberry vanilla shake; she couldn't stop eating it. Then our burgers arrived. She picked up a half and when she squeezed it, the look on her face was pure awe. The juices that oozed out convinced her that it was going to be gooood. Then she took a bite with the dressing, and she was gone to another dimension. I reminded her of the garlic fries. After a few bites, she declared that it was a 5 star meal. And then after a few more minutes, she said she'd already forgotten about McDonald's. Before we left, she declared that this was the best way so start her birthday weekend. She also impressed by how fresh everything was and how affordable it was, given the quality and the quantity. She loved the family atmosphere as I explained that everyone working there was family. We took the same meal back to the office for our coworker. He opened up the burger, looked at it, and declared that it was what he had always pictured an American hamburger to be. Then he took a bite of it with the garlic fries, and he was also gone to another dimension. He declared that he'd also forgotten about In-N-Out. He devoured all of it. Which is no small feat. This small restaurant has big heart! The food was great, we came for the Italian Beef Sandwich and it did not disappoint! The au Ju had so much flavor, the peppers had the perfect balance of sweet and hot. We also had cheese fries (pure nostalgia), zucchini which was also great. You could absolutely tell who the regulars were by how they were greeted. I loved that. I went with the polish dog w/o a bun, kraut, & fries. The kraut is apparently made in house & was fabulous. This is a late in life discovery for me. However, it's great!! Who knew the Vienna style dog would be my new favorite! They have deal days during the week, which makes it incredibly affordable! The fries are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. I've tried the Vienna dog and sliders. They satisfy a craving for east coast style food that I forgot I had! After many years in the restaurant business as everything from a busboy to a chef, and having traveled the world as a commercial pilot, one of the things I truly love is a good burger. And you'd be AMAZED at how difficult it is to find one. Sure, there are 3,000 decent burger joints in the US (far fewer abroad), but a great one? That's as rare as teeth on a hen. Chicago Hamburger is one of those outliers without a doubt. I'd say it counts as one of the best 3 hamburgers I've had in my entire time on this planet. That's how good it is. Now, a burger is not complex. It's deceivingly simple: bun, meat patty, sauce, lettuce, tomato, and fixin's. But in all those details a great burger is made. Chicago Hamburger has a basic menu. You got a few burgers, an unbelievably great Chicago hot dog, a cheesesteak, fries and onion rings, zucchini, and a few other odds and ends. But, being that the owner really is from Chicago, he pays attention to his ingredients and delivers a home run on each menu selection. The burger patty is beefy, juicy, flavorful, fresh (these are handmade, fresh patties made with top cuts of meat- no frozen mystery-meat pucks here). You taste the beefiness right from the start. They are char-broiled to such perfection that the juices are locked inside the patty. So when you bite in, it releases a cavalcade of fresh meaty flavor. It's like a taste orgasm. Now, marry that with a very fresh and unique pickle relish, catsup, brown mustard (from Chicago), buttery, soft, grilled onions, two slabs of beefsteak tomato, lettuce, and a PERFectly-baked bun with a soft finish, (but firm enough to hold together). I added mayo and cheddar, and the flavor explosion is amazing. It left me smiling that a burger could be THIS good. The fries are fanTAStic. They taste like they're fried in peanut oil. There was no chemical after-taste from cheap canola oil (otherwise known as truck lubricant- look it up). Onion rings are perfect. I wasn't crazy about their ranch dressing, but it is a very Chicago-style ranch a bit on the dill-side. It's good, I'm just used to the west-coast, buttermilky ranch. Hardly a complaint though. Just personal taste. My wife loved their rancho, so there ya go. The thing here is the ingredients are fresh and unique. They have a kind of Chicago-centric flavor. It's not the restaurant food-supply canned relish and the Sysco burger sauce. Even the lettuce is fresh, crisp, and green. It's not the "wet toilet paper shred" you get at the standard burger joint. Even the cheese is miles beyond the American fake-sheet you get at the nearest Crappo-Burger. Try it is all I can say. Maybe your opinion will differ. But to me, this is one of the best dang burgers I've had. Top 3 burgers in Phoenix for me are: Chicago Hamburger, Lucky Burger (Deer Valley) and Lucky Boy Burger (I'll leave the order up to you) What a find. Like going to a Cubs game in their heyday. First let me say that it's been year's since we last visited this family owned establishment, as we're on the west side of central Phoenix, so a bit of a distance. Still the ambiance was welcoming, inviting, and very clean. Please keep in mind that I don't remember how their burgers are made (ie: toppings or spreads). So I figured I was safe when I ordered a double cheeseburger with grilled onions, lettuce and mayo only. To my surprise we got all the way home and there was no Cheese. Not a big problem I had some in the fridge and my microwave works wonders. Lol. Then to find there was some sort of spread on the bottom that is hard to describe. Last but not least the zucchini sticks were on point. Delicious and well seasoned. The service was on point especially when the gentleman at the register was kind enough to pull up my detailed receipt to show me that I wasn't overcharged and took no offense in going that extra mile. Over all the portions were amazing as well as the devoured items. Hubby truly enjoyed his Philly cheese steak and fries, again great sized portions. This place is delicious!! Hubs loves sloppy joes so we decided to stop in on a Thursday for their sloppy Joe's and I had to try their tuna salad sandwich. The customer service was friendly and this spot is just a little hole in the wall with good food. The sloppy joe sliders had tons of meat and the softest slider roll. They were good! The tuna salad was packed with goodies and the sandwich wasn't skimpy. Definitely recommend both. Still need to try their Sandwiches, burgers and Chicago dogs. Will be back again soon! read more

Super cute :D Ordered a burger, fries, and coleslaw- they were soooo good. Burger patty was super fresh, bun was fluffy, and fries were so crispy and potato-ey lol And coleslaw!!! I love coleslaw and their coleslaw is super crunchy and creamy. Nommmmm And people were so friendly, when we ordered one burger for two people - they asked if we wanted them to cut it half, and also asked if we wanted a cup of water. Love this Chicago style hotdog stand in Biltmore Arcadia neighborhood. My dad was in town and went with his friends and although I've lived here for years and my man for almost 29 years we have never tried it... crazy because it's amazing. The food came out hot and quick, table service after counter ordering. Every time I drive to visit my son in Tempe, I take a longer loop back home to Glendale just to get this place on the way home. This place is known for their sliders but everything on their menu is phenomenal. On top of that, they have great customer service and it seems like I they always have a line of people and a constant turning of tables with better prices than McDonald's and other fast food places. read more

It was lunchtime so the parking lot was hectic. We drove around a few times before we could find a spot. Walking in we quickly were amazed by all the Chicago memorabilia. There was a lot to look at. We got in line and ordered. I got a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. My friend had the same. The food took about 10 minutes for it to be ready and our number got called. Condiments were sitting beside the pickup window. My burger was good and tasted homemade. The meat was juicy and cooked perfectly The crinkle cut fries were perfect as well as they had a nice crunch to them. Service was good. It started to get more and more busy as lunch time progressed and the line was almost out the door at one point.
