Beef in garlic with vegetables & chicken in orange sauce spicy both tasted exactly the same - bland? Handmade dumplings are too doughy and chicken filling tasted sour - rice vinegar, maybe? Advice: Read ALL the comments before ordering. I stopped at "best Chinese food in Florida!" Hint: if articles and tense are missing, usually means written by a Mandarin/Chinese speaker. People say the takeout on Courteney next to Publix is best on the island, which we haven't tried yet, because even when we moved to CB for a few years, we'd go to Joy Luck on 520. I got sick almost immediately after I ate from this order, and was sick to my stomach all night. Even tiny mom, who can actually eat 8 dumplings, couldn't finish one! We were so disappointed! I stopped by when we first moved to BBN Courteney area because the door was wide open, but they were closed till 4:00 and an older lady was making dumplings, do we couldn't wait for mom to try them. We really hoped to love them! Nice people, and they seem to have long-time regulars. read more

Some of the best Chinese takeout I've had!! Unlike most Chinese joints, Chi Lin uses real chunks of chicken breast, fried very nicely to a crisp. The meat is juicy and the sauce flavorful. Lo Mein and fried rice both very solid. Had crab Rangoons as well, which honestly could have had a little more krab in them for my liking, but were nevertheless very tasty and crispy with a side of sweet and sour sauce. Pricing is exceptionally fair at around $10 for a large meal. Takeout service was friendly. Doesn't seem like any room to sit inside, but I'll be getting it to go anyway. Overall it was very satisfying and I can't wait to go back! read more

I have always enjoyed their takeout but I have been very disappointed this last year. I understand they are all raising prices and Chi Lin has had a few increases, but the recent price increase was accompanied with a large reduction in all their portions. Even the crispy noodles that come with the soup were about half and now they have been stale. My husband and I think since the soup portion remains the same it tastes water down. Very said to see the places we love having to resort to this. read more

I stopped by Chin Lin a very small modest Mamasan and Papasan Chinese/Taiwanese take out place in Merritt Island. Ordered the crispy tangy beef, fried rice, and beef and scallion dumplings. Was told food would be ready in 20 mins, which indicates to me that food is cooked to order, and I was right because food was super hot. Service was good, Crispy beef and rice was good, but was not a fan of the dumplings, they were gluey although very meaty inside. Overall not bad for Merritt Island. read more

I absolutely love the food at this restaurant. We always get it as takeout and they do a great job on packaging and the serving size is always good. I know the ad says outdoor seating, but I am not sure where that is at unless you eat it in your car. It's in a small strip mall and unless something has changed I don't remember any tables and chairs. I will edit this review if I am wrong. Give these folks your to go business you won't be disappointed. read more

Been going here since 2002. I've lived in Philadelphia, been to Chinatown regularly and other parts of the US. Chi Lin is on par with all them. Always amazing service by the owners and always great food. Best Chinese in the area far and away. read more

Day before thanksgiving and we are doing the Chinese food thing. Haven't been here in a while. Great service and very sweet lady who took my order. Went next door for cupcakes and fudge. Came back and everything was packed perfectly. The order was fresh and delicious I had the beef special and the. Ordered shrimp chow mein and General Tao Chicken. The food looks, smells; and tastes bad. It looks like a zero wait time kind of fast food place. Fried rice took over an hour; the first time I tried to eat there. There's also no indoor seating to sit and eat there. It's to go only and they prefer cash over cards. I won't chance it again there. read more

Our dinner was very good. My family was happy with the taste of the dishes; hot and sour soup, house fried rice, chicken loMein, General Tso's spicy chicken and Buddha's Delight. The only negative was the broccoli wasn't quite cooked. I like it crunchy but this was a little too raw. Sauces were good and the spicy mustard in the little cup was ultra hot.... Which I loved. We'll definitely try some other dishes next time. read more

They are back! We have tried about 10 other Chinese restaurants since they left for a family emergency about 1 1/2 years ago, and every one was awful. We finally gave up and crossed our fingers that Chi Lin would return, and they have! This place has the best Chinese food in Florida, and some of the best Chinese food I've ever had, and I used to work in Chinatown in Boston- so I've had a lot of Chinese food over the years, both authentic and Americanized. This place is authentic with wonderful flavors or ginger, garlic and spices in every bite and you can taste the pride and care in their food. We are so happy they have returned! We haven't had Chinese in a year, and it's been a long year! read more

Egg rolls and Krab Rangoon had been reheated more than once...they were hard and burned-like on the outside and the veggies inside the egg rolls were so soggy they were unrecognizable and had no flavor. Likewise, the lo mien had only shriveled peas and the noodles were all stuck together. The orange chicken was hard and the fried rice was flavorless! I'm very surprised since we used to get really good food there. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! read more

Ordered the General's chicken lunch special, and it was the best General's chicken I've ever had. Big pieces of white meat chicken and a rich, sweet sauce. Wow, so good. The fried rice was also great, with egg and peas in it. Spring roll was very good, and the wonton soup was killer. They also gave us a couple of fortune cookies. Me and my wife divided this lunch special, and we left some rice in the container. It was that much food. EXCELLENT! read more

Don't believe the 5* reviews. I got take out based on those reviews and was very disappointed. The Egg Drop soup was weak and the steamed dumplings were under cooked and the sauce was very mild. The lo mein had very little meat in it and the again the sauce was very mild. The fried rice had lots of crunchy rice and again the meat content was almost non existant and it tasted like it had been fried in old oil. We will not order from them again. read more

Most restaurants are not good at take out even though in house is great. Especially those who try multi-ethnic dishes and do not stick to one thing. This restaurant does Indian, Chinese, AND seafood...and they do it with expertise. From the outside this place is VERY underrated and you wonder why some of the food is a little pricey. The fact is, the caliber of the food coming from this place should be in a big fancy restaurant. This is truly a gem in the cape canaveral area. I ordered Indian food to be delivered through Uber Eats here before and loved it. So we ordered various things from the menu to taste and ordered to go. We had the lobster thermidor, calamari, chicken wings (honey mustard), lamb rack, roasted garlic potatoes, Mac n cheese, veggies, and risotto with shrimp and asparagus. We have been to some pretty fancy restaurants and I'm here to tell you, there is an amazing chef behind these dishes. They are so well thought out and even take out is presented in artistic tasteful, complimentary fashion. When I called, they told me they would call 15 mins before the food was done. They were true to their word ensuring the food was hot and fresh. When I got there, there showed me each dish before bagging it to make sure I git exactly what I wanted. I saw fresh Italian basil leaves and cuts of lemon complicating various dishes. It wasn't just thrown together. These are special touches for takeout. Clearly the chef cares about presentation and complimentary garnish to the dish. Someone should invest in this and help them expand to handle more customers. Everything we had was amazing. The lobster was fresh and abundant topped with a rich, complex sauce, topped with fresh real oven bronzed cheese. It wasn't drenched in butter sauce, and you could really tell you were eating lobster and not a bunch of filler. Then the calamari was crisp and not overpowered with breading. The wings were served with sauce on the side. We respected that because we asked for extra crispy and if they would have drenched it in sauce, it wouldn't have come that way. The lamb rack came with 5 pieces of plump lamb easily peeled from the bone. So juicy and tender with the perfect sweet savory sauce coating every bite. The Mac n cheese was like mamma used to make. You could tell that creaminess had real cheeses baked in. The veggies were the perfect tenderness with a hint of butter and salt. And for the last dish...the risotto. I am a second generation Italian very well versed in Risotto. When I tell you this tasted like it was cooked for hours simmering in creamy, melt in your mouth goodness that makes you wanna overdose on this stuff???? Well, you have to try it to believe it. I could not have done better myself. The thing about this place is despite its humble look, someone behind the scenes is passionate about every dish going out the door and cares about the people they are serving. I probably won't eat in house, but only because it doesn't match the caliber of your dishes and I would want to dress up on a date for it in a quiet, dim lit romantic atmosphere with wine...which you also sell. Trust me, we will take out many more times from here to eat by candlelight at home. Many blessings to the chef and staff. I hope you make it big and we know where you go next! You deserve it!

Was…read moreskeptical as the place serves pasta/ risotto/ Indian/ Chinese/ Japanese and Thai, quite a variety to get everything right. But the Hakka noodles and panang curry were both delicious! Definitely would go with medium spicy as the mild was definitely mild/ kids had no problems with the spice level. The place has unique/ tropical decor. Decent parking and outdoor and indoor seating. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area, very close to the ports/ cruise ship departures/ arrrivals.
