This restaurant is now going to be haunting me in my dreams it was that good . First off, the onion tart is crack. The perfect crust with fluffy eggs and onions and bacon. I would say generally I'm not the biggest fan of quiches, but the onion tart is a must. Then we had the white asparagus special with a soft boiled egg and lentils with the most flavorful dressing ever. I was with my two daughters and wife and we split the onion tart and asparagus special as an appetizer, and literally a fight almost broke out among us. Then we split the steak, pork filet and potato pancakes. Just absolutely delicious. My older daughter does not like salad and she actually couldn't believe she liked the side salad that came with her steak. Not the lame iceberg bagged salad mix you get it some restaurants. This was frise, endive and radicchio in a vinaigrette that was spot on. Best french fries ever as a side on the pork fillet. Incredible home fries as the side on the steak. I wish I would've taken photos to post, but the dishes were getting destroyed as soon as they came out. We had the rhubarb pie as a dessert and Panna cotta. We are coming back tomorrow for lunch and getting the asparagus and tart again. It was that good.

My husband had choucroute garnie and I had chicken with Munster sauce, a very interesting dish. The house wine and cremant were wonderful. We can't say enough about this homey restaurant if a person is looking for nontouristy, local food and vibes.

The interior was very rustic and not a French country rustic or even a cabin, but more like a workshop. It was comfortably warm and very tight between the tables. We perused the menu which is offered online in English as well as reviews and quickly surmised that we had to order these three dishes: SOUPE A L'OIGNON GRATINEE ....... 10,50 € CUISSE DE CANARD SUR LIT DE CHOUCROUTE ..... 24,90 BOUCHEE A LA REINE .... 22,90 € Onionsoup, not French Onion soup because there can be no other in France! This version was very onion forward but I could taste butter. I was surprised that there wasn't any dark broth...just onions and what tasted like stuck from onions. The croutons were amazing with a baked sharp cheese of some sort. It was good if you like white onions. Sauerkraut with Duck leg & Potatoes -Thus was spectacular as the duck skin was so flavorful and the meat was so rich, the sauerkraut really helps break up the rich flavors. The potatoes were good but a bit under-seasoned Vol-au-vent Veal, chicken, mushrooms Creamsauce & Spaetzel was pretty good but a little one note. The mushrooms were cooked in a white wine that gave them an amazing flavor. The rest of the dish was mild in flavor. A very kid friendly dish. Cute place with a view of the river if you're lucky enough to get those tables. Decent food and very friendly service.

Since we arrived later in the afternoon, we decided to have dinner here based on the reviews and her suggestion. Wow what a fantastic experience we ordered the onion soup as an appetizer to share, which was creamy and delicious with chunks of bread and lots of cheese on top. My husband ordered the Cordon Bleu. Which was nicely presented and had a generous filling with cheese and ham inside. I opted for the beef of the day which was a grilled flank steak served with potatoes and a salad. I am very picky about my beef and this was fantastic grilled to perfection, medium rare and absolutely fantastic. I rarely finish a meal, but I ate every bit of this and enjoyed every bite. We had a nice dry riesling to go along with our meal and ordered crème brûlée for dessert. The service was also incredible attentive, but not smothering. Annie was kind to us non-French speakers and provided a menu in English. I would suggest making a reservation in the evening, although we did not have to wait the place filled up as we were there for a couple hours. The ambience is very sweet and cozy. I cannot recommend this place enough. Please give it a try they do have a very nice lunch special that I would suggest taking advantage of.

As I was exploring some cities along the Rhein I found myself craving a really good cup of coffee at a really good coffee shop. I'm talking a third wave, artisanal, single-origin, bordering on pretentious, independent coffee shop. Yelp led me to Cafe Bretelles and I was not disappointed! Don't be turned off by what looks like a tiny coffee shop- there's a second level with more seating if the outdoor seats and first level are full. Just place your order at the counter and take a table number. We got an oat milk cappuccino (1 shot of espresso and steamed milk), an oat milk flat white (2 shots espresso and steamed milk), a hot chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The espresso-based drinks were just what I was after. They were rich, bold, and creamy. The hot chocolate was more like warm than hot, but packed on the flavor. Overall, this is a spot I'd frequent for if I was in Strasbourg more often. For now, it'll be a fond memory of a perfect cup of coffee in a sea of underwhelming hotel coffee.

Finally found it and was underwhelming. It was a micro place with seating for 6 people, one seat available and I sat there while my wife ordered. We were told we could not be served, we asked if we could wait inside and rudely told we have to wait outside in the cold. Don't come here there are plenty of bakeries that serve cappuccinos. I am writing his review while siting inside Secret De Table with plenty of seating where it is warm and drinking a great cappuccino.

We wondered through the Le Petit France, and I was telling my partner about the Le Cord de Lange as a lunch option (the place I discovered when I was in Strasbourg last year), but as we walked closer, I saw the sign I recognized- Michelin star. We saw the menu and decided that that will be the place for us today. After 40 minutes waiting for them to open for lunch, we walked back right at noon, to see few people ahead of us being seated. We were not that hungry, so we agreed to share steak tartare, and each got a main dish, followed by a desert. Steak tartare was the best I ever had in my life! Loved it! My partner had a duck breast, and I had fish. Both were delicate and cooked so well! The fish (cod) with crispy skin, with bok choy and the cream butter sauce, was marvelous. For the dessert, he ordered the strawberry soup with the dragon fruit soufflé and the vanilla ice cream. Amazing! As we left the restaurant, I messaged my friends about Umami and told they have to visit, and learned that apparently, it's not that easy. With only seven tables they get booked fast. So if you are lucky to walk in like us, grab a seat and enjoy your meal
