I simply love Crepe's. I lived in Paris for 3 months so you can probably understand where my love…read morefor them comes from! (I was also living near Crepe Central in Paris as well so everywhere I turned there they were!) I love the simple Nutella crepe, and can occationally be seen having a ham and chese crepe. What I did discover recentley though was ice cream in a crepe... I know, it sounds wierd but somehow it worked so well! Go and get your taste of France, once you've had one you will be hooked!

A little place that you simply must visit, stationed on the edge of Wine Street and Castle Park. La…read moreBonne Crepe serves traditional French crepes, made to order, with a wide variety of toppings. Sweet crepes are the white pancakes you might expect, but the savoury ones, called galettes, are made with buckwheat flour to a traditional French recipe, and the slightly bitter taste goes really well with savoury fillings. Very popular with local workers, there can be a significant wait at peak times such as lunch, but I assure you it is well worth hanging around. There are tables and chairs under cover, so you won't get wet if it is raining. The proprietor is a friendly young French man with a welcoming smile, and a good relationship with his regular customers. If you go there often and tend to order the same thing, he is likely to remember what crepe you like, which is always a nice touch in our impersonal modern world. The prices are fairly high, but the flavour makes it more than worth the money. There are other places selling crepes in the centre, but nowhere else matches these properly made beauties. If you're thirsty, La Bonne crepe also sells a selection of cold drinks, and a mean cup of coffee.

They do an extensive menu of sweet and savoury crepes, and also a selection of cold drinks. Additionnaly they do a few smoothies and coffees and teas which are also very pleasant. Whenever I have visited there has never been any seating, which if you are eating a cheap is a huge inconvience, so unless you want to wear your food for the rest of the day I would suggest avoiding the crepes! However, there does seem to be some tables folded away only for use on a sunny day.

I am a fan of the classic savoury options, like cheese and ham with black pepper, but they have sweet crepes that are cheaper and some would say a more natural choice, like the chocolate and cinnamon options etc. You have the most beautiful views of the waterfront sat by this crepe van, and they have a huge selection of different soft drinks, so if you need a quick break and a refuel you should sit here and get yourself fresh crepe made in front of you. The service is friendly enough and the whole process only takes a minute or two.

Well apparently this cafe opened in May but I only noticed it last week and it was pretty empty so…read morenot too sure how its doing. Its maybe not in the most visible location but I have to say I like what they do. I like all the chalk boards and the independent feel of it. Its comfortable and spacious and the food selection is great for lunch. They don't just do sandwiches but offer up nice looking jacket potatoes and very yummy crepes. They are also the first Welsh retailer of Pieminister pies. I'm not a pie lover but my bloke loved his. I also liked how fresh everything was. I hope it does well, just mainly because I love pancakes.

We took a peek at the menu and saw that they served Pieminster pies. I gave a brief "hnh" to convey mild interest before being hurled through the doors. Apparently Pieminster pies are kind of a big deal. He assures me that they're absolutely delicious. I just had a coffee, which was... well, coffee. I'm sure had my experience been less about watching my friend scarf down two pies and more about enjoying my own food, I'd be more erudite on the topic of Cafe Mattia, but as it stands, all I can say is that it looks lovely, the food is, apparently, incredible and the coffee is more than passable. If you're looking for a place to eat lunch, you could do a lot worse.

I got a sundae loaded with chocolate and it was good.  Service was good. They are open late.  Located in the city center with bars and shops nearby, the clientele was pretty eclectic the night I stopped in.  Atmosphere is nice and decor is unique. Well worth a stop for dessert.

It's a great option no matter how big your craving is, too. Menu options here when I stopped in included: gelato, sundaes, waffles, crepes, cakes, puddings, hot drinks, bubble-based drinks, milkshakes and smoothies! While a family member and I opted for some small cups of gelato, I have to admit, their sundaes looked impressive! But I wanted to be relatively good that day, so a small and tasty cookies and cream gelato it was. I actually regret controlling my gluttony that day. But hey, there's always future trips and future opportunities to indulge... Definitely take the time to stop on in sometime if you're in the area - whether you want to sit or get a splurge that's good on the go, you'll likely leave as happy as my travel buddy and I did!
