    I. Love. Crepes. Forget the doorstop American pancakes give me these thin delicacies any day…read more I much prefer the sweet variety and I'm a bit of a traditionalist with my lemon and sugar but the point here is you have some many to choose from! I think they could put some more filling on in some cases though. You pay a little bit extra if you want to eat in which is normal nowadays to be honest. The lady that served me was very friendly and struck up a conversation while she made our order. Considering she was new she was very calm whereas some of the other staff members looked a little bit stressed out. I wouldn't blame them it does not look easy. There is only one other place that I know of selling crepes in Birmingham and it's a bit of a walk so it's nice to have somewhere I can indulge on my love affair with crepes.

I visited here for the first time today and I was pleasantly surprised. I've always been a huge fan…read moreof sweet crepes (particularly when there are large quantities of Nutella involved), but today I decided to go for the savoury option of pesto, basil and mozzarella. It took at little bit of time to receive my order, but it was beautifully made, served at a suitable temperature (when I've eaten them at other places before they've often been too hot to eat) and was a lovely option for lunch. My friends had the ham and cheese option and a strawberries and cream option, and they were equally as lovely! I'm certainly looking forward to revisiting!

(I was also living near Crepe Central in Paris as well so everywhere I turned there they were!) I love the simple Nutella crepe, and can occationally be seen having a ham and chese crepe. What I did discover recentley though was ice cream in a crepe... I know, it sounds wierd but somehow it worked so well! Go and get your taste of France, once you've had one you will be hooked!

Sweet crepes are the white pancakes you might expect, but the savoury ones, called galettes, are made with buckwheat flour to a traditional French recipe, and the slightly bitter taste goes really well with savoury fillings. Very popular with local workers, there can be a significant wait at peak times such as lunch, but I assure you it is well worth hanging around. There are tables and chairs under cover, so you won't get wet if it is raining. The proprietor is a friendly young French man with a welcoming smile, and a good relationship with his regular customers. If you go there often and tend to order the same thing, he is likely to remember what crepe you like, which is always a nice touch in our impersonal modern world. The prices are fairly high, but the flavour makes it more than worth the money. There are other places selling crepes in the centre, but nowhere else matches these properly made beauties. If you're thirsty, La Bonne crepe also sells a selection of cold drinks, and a mean cup of coffee.

Walking up and down Primrose Hill had me feeling exceptionally hungry, so I walked the few blocks…read moreover to Camden Town. I wanted something that was grab-and-go, and on the sweet side to wash out the flavor of mediocre pulled pork and cheap macrobrewed beer, so a creperie seemed to be the obvious choice. This stand is in the Inverness Street market, extremely conveniently located right off the Camden Town underground station. The menu is actually fairly extensive for a stand like like this. 20-25 different crepes in all, half sweet and half savory gluten-free galettes(though I believe you can also have these on a flour-based crepe as well). The menu also has beverages, like coffee, fresh juice, and more. The staff are extremely friendly and will happily help you find the perfect crepe to suit your mood. The preparation can also be quite dramatic and fun to watch, which seemed to be a big hit with kids. I wound up with the Africanism, which consisted of your choice of chocolate(white, milk, or dark) combined with coconut and rhum. The crisp edges were perfectly matched with the rich white chocolate. The crunch of the coconut and the slight hint of rhum really added a lot of depth to the flavor of the crepe. I walked away with it piping hot and satiating my sweet tooth and desire for a quick treat. This stand is simple, convenient street food, with 90% of the menu coming in at under 4£, it's a great stop for something easy to eat as you begin your walk through the extensive Camden markets.
