A cream tea is £3.95 with one scone. Bread pudding slice was good too. Tea was good. The place is bright and airy and that it has over the old cafe. There are marvellous views over the tops of the beautiful buildings that surround it and of the green in front of the cathedral. Yet, the old cafe will always be missed by this reviewer. I have rarely seen a choice of cake like it had...and all sorts of allergies were catered for. There was more of a sense of history, being tucked within the old building. This new cafe is anodyne but in keeping with the changing tastes of we folk. Did I mention the scones were delicious and crunchy? Oh yes! :D A lovely place to take a rest before heading to watch the jousters on the clock on the hour.

I do not expect much from chains. But these pasties are really good. And I'm not the only one who…read morethinks so. Asking amongst my friends, this is considered to be a reliable chain. The restaurant itself is pleasant enough. It's as generic as you like but it's not offensive. There are a few small tables in here and it can get pretty busy. But it dies down again pretty quickly. There are often queues out of the door. They have four tables outside which is quite pleasant on a good day. The website is quite funny. Well, you know... Listed as a fairtrade company on the South West Fairtrade website. There are no loos here but there are public loos on the market square.
