It was a bit wild since some kind of sports ball game was happening that many people cared about, the windows were open so it felt like people flowed freely between the rue and the restaurant. There was a pub across the way, and it was LOUD. If this is an issue for you, be warned. For us, it added to our experience feeling like you are in the throngs of humanity and life all around you. While I'm not a sports person, I liked the vivacious energy. Food was delicious, service was friendly enough. We don't speak French, but they made it work!

Our first night in Paris, we learned the hard way to take a Bolt to the Resturant only to find out they don't accept their walk-ins.... The second attempt was a go. I was able to book on their website. Our reservation was for 1PM. We arrived at a packed house, and the owner greeted us and then asked for our reservation time. LOL, he doesn't play. Once he confirmed our reservation, he sat us down with menus. He asked what we would like to drink in French, and when my wife asked for a Coke Zero, he almost died, LOL!!! Realizing we weren't French, he explained in English that in a restaurant such as his, you must first drink a red wine before anything else. So he poured us a glass each, and then he walked us through his starters. We picked the liver patty and goat cheese herbs and olive oil.. Both were yummy, especially with the bread! For the main courses, my wife ordered the ribeye medium with Potatoes Au Gratin and Bone Marrow. I wrnt more traditional with the Beouf Bourguignon, pommel vapeur (Beef Stew) My meal was hitting on all cylinders, especially with the red wine. My wife enjoyed her plate but did remark her steak was chewy, then she would like... Not dessert on these visits, and we had another place in mind... Overall, the experience was awesome. The owner made us feel really comfortable and was very fun to talk with. In such a tight establishment, he really makes everything come together. A definite must stop for lunch or dinner when in Paris.

They messed up our order and brought me what appeared to be a grilled flank steak. Flavor was ok, but it was tough. Daughter stole my fillet. It was a bit better than my flank, but still not up to my standards. Wife's salmon was pretty good. Over all, a nice experience, but the food quality was average at best.

It was the perfect Paris experience. Thank you, Emmanuel, for making our visit so enjoyable!

The sausage was so flavorful, the potato was a mess of cheese and butter and incredibly amazingly good, the poached eggs were perfect, and the tomatoes were super flavorful. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too, and the bites of their meals were superb as well. So do so good!!

Small regret not trying their wine, but we had just landed in Paris that morning and the jet lag was hitting :P This was our first reintroduction into their more leisure dining culture, no phones and only conversation. If you come hangry, you might have a more difficult time with their longer wait times and smaller portions (please remember it's a cafe/bakery, not a full-on restaurant experience). With our drinks our waiter even brought us out fresh olives. Now I'm not the biggest fan but Ashley very much enjoyed it. There was a lot on the menu that I was interested in and they had a number of different cuts of beef but I had to go with the Whole Duck Breast which is also a French classic which I got cooked medium rare but I'm perfect sure that's how they suggest it which is the right way like they do with all their beef too. Ashley and I also split the French Onion Soup. I will say by Duck was very good. Tasty rich sauce with crispy duck skin cooked perfectly. Some of the best duck I have had in awhile. I will say the French Onion Soup though was a little bland. I just didn't have that rich beef broth I am used too. Beside that everything was very good and would for sure recommend going to Café Blanc for a nice menu which amazing French options.
