Ribs and brisket in house made sauce!
Tim M.

Being a former Boy Scout there is one thing that I respond or react to without realizing it and that's camp fire smoke. Brings back so many great memories and that's what happens when you walk into Chez Biceps. The wood fire smoke makes your taste buds water. Wait h to the food is placed in front of you,,,wow! The meat on the ribs is massive. Better yet you say 'boo' and the meat falls off the bone. The brisket is to die for...unbelievably moist and tender. Add to that homemade cole slaw with an oil/vinegar base and you have a great combo or sweet and sour in your various plates!! The loaded sweet potato should have been called a desert because it checks those boxes in and of itself. Had to force ourselves to order a side of Poutine which is known as a comfort food in Quebec. Delightful but way too much with all else we ordered. Have to taste when you can and worth every bite. Don't laugh but another 'side' offered is a shot of bourbon with house smoked bacon. Like the Nike ad says, just do it!

Best brisket I've ever had! Did not expect to find it in Quebec, but this little hidden restaurant in the suburbs of Quebec makes an unbelievable tasty brisket. It is tender, moist, has a perfect smoke ring and it comes soaked in a perfectly balanced tangy, a bit sweet, a bit salty jus (thin gravy). The ribs were equally tender and tasty. My wife had the chicken and it was juicy and flavorful with a crisp skin. Highly recommend checking this place out. Call ahead and make a reservation if you are planning to go on a weekend.

Food & service was good. Everything we ordered were delicious. The only thing I wanted to complain was about I got wrong dessert (lemon meringue pie w/ jam) which I ordered Crème brûlée, lol. They were too busy plus we didn't want to wait any longer. Will come back again!

Thank you fellow food bloggers and Yelpers for alerting me to this little BBQ treasure in Quebec! It just a small place, built like a shack, with lots of kitchy BBQ, and American gun decorations all over....very fun and cozy feeling. We first tried to get in here when we arrived Sat night, but were turned away, as they were packed and totally booked for the rest of the night. We were so surprised that a BBQ joint needed reservations, but just from the wonderful smoke and BBQ sauce aromas that hit us when we opened the door, we suspected why. We made reservations for Tues night and returned hungry. We ordered a plate of brisket (4 slices), and plate of pork ribs (4 ribs) a combo plate (2 ribs, 2 brisket slices, and a pork sausage), sweet potato Quebecois style, and for grins..a unique Quebec dish of fried strips of pig fat.(cannot remember the name). OMGx2. I have traveled all over the USA, and this was the best BBQ brisket I have ever had. Melt in your mouth tender, and very juicy, with a perfect BBQ sauce. Hats off to Mr. Biceps, a true BBQ Wizard! The ribs were very delicious too; fall off the bone tender. We really loved the sauce they were basted with, just perfectly balanced sweet, carmely, slightly spicy. The sweet potatoes were simply baked, then served with large crumples of house bacon and creme fresh on top, with some arugala, and a drizzle of truffle oil. I normally am a big fan of truffle oil on anything, but not this time. For me anyway, it was an odd combination. The deep fried strips of pig fat were unique and tasted just like you would think. I can see why that dish is local to only Quebec, as it is certainly an acquired taste. I think that fried pork skins are a much tasterier piggy snack treat. I highly recommend this place if you are in Quebec, and want something different that French or Italian.

The amazing lemon meringue pie.

Most visitors don't travel to Quebec for BBQ but I'm so happy we went here as it's possibly the best I've had and I've traveled around Texas many a time. We had the sampler plate and the brisket is tender and beautifully flavored. The sausage we shared was excellent and the ribs were fantastic. We shared the sweet potato side, also terrific. We had the beer made by the establishment, also outstanding. For dessert we split a piece of lemon meringue pie. Best we've ever had. The lemon was not too sweet the way it can be and the meringue was cloud-like in delicacy and flavor. Despite eating at other fancier places in Old Quebec, this was our favorite meal. We ate at the bar and the bartender was friendly and even kindly ordered a taxi back for us despite being extremely busy. The decor is authentic Texas roadside bbq. You must make a reservation. The joint was bumping with a mostly local crowd at n a Thursday night in early December.

Pastrami Duck and Baked Sweet Potato with Mascarpone, Micro Greens, and Truffle Oil

AMAZING! Better BBQ than I have had in the states! Chef Vincent Chatigny is a talented and passionate chef. His love for food comes through in each dish. Him and his staff are friendly and hospitable on another level. We went twice and were greeted with warm welcomes and great conversation. Now onto the food... We ate St. Louis style ribs, a decadent mac and cheese with homemade bacon, smoked duck, and baked sweet potato topped with mascarpone, micro greens, and truffle oil. Best BBQ!!!

Great service, food was amazing, the place has a really fun decor . All in all very satisfied

Hands down the best BBQ in the world, second to none in the States.

Second to none, best BBQ I've ever had and Ive had it everywhere in the U.S. it's pricey but no regrets. Left full and happy. Met the owners and will never forget this place.

I was looking for BBQ and found this place, it is a combination of BBQ and Smoked House. Small place, looks interesting from outside, but you will be impressed with the quality, flavor and portions of the food provided. I tried the combination platter, brisket, ribs and sausage, with putine potatoes. At the end, I had to have dessert and tried the grilled pear with ice cream. I was satisfied and the food exceed my expectations. This reminds me my parents teachings of not to judge s book from his cover. I strongly recommend this place.

Get the smokey ketchup as your side condiment. Just do it. Trust me. Thank me later…read more I personally got the Le Canotier burger, which was amazing by itself. The fries were decent until the ketchup was introduced; as someone who traditionally doesn't like ketchup, it was genuinely one of the greatest sauces I've ever had, and was closer to a pesto consistency. Have these people never had a burger before? There's nothing wrong with the burgers here, but there's also nothing right about them. They're burgers. Meat, bread, lettuce, sauces..yep. It's a burger. And it's okay. Bland and by-the-book to a fault. It tasted liked they perfected the art of having minimal flavors and ingredients, as if they were weighing the taste of each in a highly technical way. I forgot I even went here by the next day and was only reminded by pictures I took. It's basically the Quebecois version of whatever one step up from an Applebee's would be, but with a premium price tag and hype. Any other burger in town would probably be just as good if not better. Side was pretty bad. Basically burnt tofu. Service was lacking, but there. I was tended to in the most basic 'there's another table to get through' way possible. Check took a long time to get to me and I ended up just walking up to the counter. Not sure why. There weren't a lot of people there. Tons of seating and a pretty nice view, although that's hard to not have in Quebec City. Can't recommend it with so many other options and delicacies not all that far away. Personally, it was a treat for me trying out something different, but I do not think everyone would appreciate its almost raw meat and liver-like texture. The Tartare comes with fries, a salad, and crouton to round up the order. We upgraded the side of fries that came with the Tartare into their Tout Cochon poutine. I was happy with that option that way I was able to sample their house poutine without needing to dedicate a full meal order for it. I can say this was among the best poutines I have had. The gravy was rich and flavourful. The poutine was also loaded with a variety of different proteins like the Gaspor farm ham and the bacon-wrapped sausage. The perron cheese curds also perfectly topped off the whole dish. Our last order was the Quebec pork chop marinated and grilled with maple and tamari. It was served with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, and seasonal vegetables. It is exactly as you would expect with the ingredient details of the dish's name. You get a lot of different flavour profiles and textures with the meal order. Some saltiness with the pork chop then some sweetness with the apple chutney. Meaty tenderness with the pork chop, mushiness with the potato mash, and then some slightly crunchiness with the seasonal vegetables. We dined on Sunday lunchtime the day before Family Day. There were people waiting to be seated by the time we arrived, but fortunately our group of only 2 people has a table spot available so did not need to wait. We were led down flights of stairs to the lower floor which was level with the street below. The whole place with its classic walls and decor exudes with classic charm.

I ordered the half rack of ribs, which was a mixed bag. The flavor was good, but several ribs were so burnt they were completely inedible--straight to the discard pile. They came with a well-dressed Caesar salad featuring seasoned croutons and delicious shaved bacon, plus sliced fried potatoes that were crispy and not greasy in the least. The thick layer of BBQ sauce wasn't quite my style--I'm a dry rub girl--but I was too hungry to care much. No photos because I devoured everything. My dining companion had a chicken sandwich she raved about. She ordered a Nordic spritz while I indulged in some Quebec cider. Honestly, I expected more pork options given the restaurant's name, but they fed us quickly and efficiently, which was exactly what we needed. No real complaints except for those burnt ribs. The interior has eclectic, cool-looking decor that's worth checking out. Our waitress provided quick and efficient service as well.
