The service was deceptive and greatly disillusioning, the sales associate wouldn't apprise us of the puppies cost in spite of us frequently asking. She would say we could accept a payment, wherein we could pay it off, but then we were told the dog was 399$ to 4,000$. Thus being exasperated, we departed from this cunning establishment, that allows you to bond with the pup even though it's probable you It's unaffordable, but then again you may not know that because they evade telling the cost. read more

We were told that new puppies come in every week and to check their website for when they would be available. One listing said a puppy would be available on Tuesday so we came into the store as it opened. They let us know that the dog was not yet available and to come back tomorrow if we wanted it, meanwhile asking us if we wanted to see a different one. We came back the next day at opening again, only to be informed that the puppy we had saw online was no longer available for purchase because "someone had special ordered it". The employee told us if we wanted a specific breed we could give them a deposit and they could special order the dog. I'm not going to give someone thousands of dollars without meeting and seeing the puppies first. They don't tell you the price until they take your drivers license into the back to run some check on you, fill out an application etc. This place is a scam read more

I will give them one star because they have cute puppies and also because I have to. I went in there super excited with my daughters and very vulnerable. I wish I had thought more on everything I was doing. I wish I did more research on this place before I went in. I ended up getting a puppy. In order for them to tell you the price, you have to do a lot of paperwork. Once I got the price I felt like it was a lot but for some reason I went ahead and did it anyways. I was going to pay for the puppy in full, but then they offered a payment plan. I figured that would be better on my credit so I did that. No where in the paperwork did it say that the payment plan was going to cost something. Most payment plans you just pay monthly and if you can't do your payment then that is when you get hit with the extra charge. This place is different. I found that out too late. So I get the puppy and I go home. The girls are in love with her. I'm in love with her. We're happy. Then the next morning I went to my email so I can figure out this payment plan and how I can pay extra to get it started. It turns out that this payment plan that they offered me costs $3000 to use!!! This dog has cost me thousands of dollars now. Also, all of the products in the store are sold other places for cheaper. I did not do my research on that either until it was too late. They tell you to get multivitamins for the puppy and the bottle is $15. If you go to chewy.com that same bottle is $10. You also can not return the products. I was so mad at this payment plan that I went through my paperwork to try and figure out the return policy. I didn't want to do that because you can't just do that to an animal, especially one who is now family. I was just so angry at how they screwed me with this. I didn't have an extra $3000. So their return policy is that you can return a dog, but you still have to pay half of the price of what the dog costs. So I either keep the dog for 8000 or give her back for 2000. This place is a scam. They are good at what they do and they know how to get you. I don't fall for scams and I don't fall for crap like this but for some reason I did this time and I really hope that no one else does it. I definitely recommend not using this store and going to your local pet shelter and adopting a dog from there. it is just wild that stores like this are still open. read more

I'm uncertain how to rate Chews and want to give a thoughtful review. First and foremost, I scoured a fairly large range of rescue organizations for my specific breed. I'd prefer to adopt one in need before ever going to a pet store. When that search left me empty handed, however, I did my homework searching my desired breed. I had choices from two breeders lined up - CKC for $700 and AKC for $1,200, a pet nanny for transport was $400. Online brokers of the same exact pups was close to $4,000. Like the other reviewers said, Chews won't give you a price until you're in the puppy room playing and their microchip is scanned. When I was handed paperwork showing a price of nearly $4,000, I was quite stunned. The girl assisting me tried to justify the pups came with so much - vaccinations included and a password for online training - no neutering/spaying. I also understand they have to pay for transport and care of the pups until they reach their fur-ever home. But does that proposed profit margin seem in alignment? Only you can decide. I feel bad for the other reviewer who couldn't afford the $1,800 pup they wanted and asked to be called if the price dropped. They never received a call and found out the pup sold for $399, the lead-in price you see on their website. That's sad. Yes, you can negotiate the price down or get financing but I personally didn't like that aspect. I work in the ugly world of finance and didn't appreciate having to mix financial negotiations with bringing home a bundle of love and joy. My pup has a chronic cough or something along those lines which I noticed in the playroom and chose to bring him home anyway. Chews gives you 14 days to get your pup checked for a guarantee in case of ailments like this, which is a nice feature. I also tried to google the breeder's name on the paperwork handed to me to no avail. Alas, you will be protected by stringent Florida statutes covering pet sales, which is honestly one of the first times I've read statutes that are truly consumer protective. Go Florida! After you decide on a pup, you will be led around the store and shown food, crates, etc., but honestly by that time I wanted to get home and had little interest in further financial outlay. My only other pet store experience was in the heart of NYC where it was no nonsense pricing and I was able to put my desired pup on hold overnight while I slept on the decision. Chews wouldn't allow me to do the same, well I could if I wanted to pay a non-refundable $500 fee. So, it really was kinda take it or leave it. The staff does seem caring, you get follow up calls and the establishment itself is clean and well lit. In sum, this experience has definitely fueled my desire to create a top class search tool for finding rescue pups similar to what exists for finding breeder pups. I pray for all animals everywhere to find loving homes. read more

Crazy place to get a puppy! They will never tell you the price of the puppy until you sign your life away on an application (was paying cash) don't bring kids "not kids friendly" at all. They just want your money. But the store is clean. Worst treatment than a dealership. read more

First, there's not a dog there for anywhere close to $399. We got there on the day they received a lot of puppies. The store is clean, yet the showcases are all the way to the floor so be prepared to sit on the floor if you want to see the dogs on the bottom row. The information about the dog is on the very back of the cage instead of on the front where it would be easier to see. Second, they won't tell you the price until you complete the survey. We did not and she did share the price. I purchased a standard Goldendoodle two years ago for $700. We selected a mini Goldendoodle to purchase and was told the purchase price was $5,000. We also were told it was in high demand and they couldn't keep them in the store. We promptly gave the puppy back and started to leave. We asked about several other dogs on display and were told they were going home today. We were asked how much we were willing to spend, we told her not that much and she proceeded to tell us how we are going to get scammed by breeders. Hmmmm.... read more

SCAM!!!! Do not go they set whatever price they they think they can get you at, $1000 dollar deposits for specialty orders and they will ill want to add more money on after the fact they also won't refund money if you decide not to get the dog, they claim they will keep bringing whatever breed of dog you requested until you like it read more

Very Clean and knowledgeable staff. No pressure sales and wants to help find the right fit!

They have sick puppies and after that they don't take any responsability. My puppy was sick since day one. Veterinary said it's a virus from the store. Do not recommend. Good advice? Don't go there! read more

I'll try to be nice and not so critical. The store is very clean. Does not smell like animals and all the puppies are super adorable and playful. The bad thing is that they refused to tell you a price. We were in there two hours. They ran our credit. We qualified but still no price. We told him we had to leave still they didn't give us a price. I'm sorry, but that is bad business practice. If you were more upfront with your customers, you'll have more sales. read more

We went here looking for a puppy. The "trainer" was terrible. Wouldn't answer how much the mini golden doodle was unless you fill out an application. Why? They already had your DL information. They kept making us sit and wait for almost an hour. Finally they came back and told us $6499! I said your kidding right? She was like how much did you think it would be? I said I know what breeders charge. Then she was like well we can get you a special order? Why would we want that??? We tried to give the pup back and she didn't seem to want to take it. Very weird, rude way to sell a puppy. Buyer beware! read more

The lady that "helped" us today was incredibly rude from the start. Every time we asked to see a pup she told us it was unavailable. She continued to say that 90% of the pups that were in cages were unavailable because they needed to be seen by the vet first. Also, you have to show your ID because it's their "protocol" before they even allow you to see one of their pups. When I questioned why I was told it was "protocol" with no further explanation offered. The lady there acted as if we were going to steal a pup, so I asked if that's why they ask for your ID. She again stated no, that it's just their protocol, and when I said I found it weird because no other pet store I'd ever been to has requested that she got snarky with me and asked me how many other pet stores I'd been to. It was very weird, to say the least. A very nice blonde lady (maybe a manager) walked over and offered an explanation that it was in fact in case someone walks out the door with a pup that they'd know where to find you. They don't trust you but expect you to trust them 100%. Furthermore, if you do a quick search of their highlighted breeder, Creek Side Kennels you'll see that Rebecca is on the Humane Society's "Horrible Hundred" report. Stating the following: "Creek Side Kennel in Kansas, operated by Rebecca Eiler, who provided puppies to Petland and other pet stores, was found with more than 400 dogs and cited by state inspectors for housing violations, including a trough of dog feces spilling onto the open ground; HSUS investigators photographed the kennels of other breeders who sold to Petland and documented rows of small wire cages, and one had cages so short that the dogs' heads were touching the tops of their wire pens." I'm thankful that their employee was so rude because it kept me from purchasing a pup and supporting this type of breeder. BUYER BEWARE! read more

Dogs that Are AKC Costs money I agree, not a AKR registration which I told. Thanks needed a Service Dog, well worst type of dog for that Service. I love my dog and paid a lot and was lied to... still waiting for those free training lessons! Since I do not have a computer and told the manager I was so happy to get free Service training and the manager agreeded. I will never stop giving you bad reviews till this store closes you people are giving away VERY sick puppy mill puppies it to me 2 weeks to stop my dog from eating it Poop, classic sign of mistreatment of puppy mill do not feed the dog the will eat something. The doctor was not even there to check my puppy and the Tech forged his name ON A SATURDAY!!!! That is forgery and now my dog is having stomach issues. Chews a puppy the gift that keeps on giving. Finding a puppy shouldn't feel like buying a used car, but that's all I felt during my time here. My mother and I have just recently begun looking for dogs and decided to stop here because I am not a fan of the other puppy stores in Orlando. Some of the salespeople seemed extremely friendly and possibly would've created a different experience, but we had a woman with black hair and a New York or Italian accent--not sure if she's the manager, but she definitely acted like it. As most everyone else said, they don't let you know the prices until you get into a playpen. As annoying as it is, that part I understand as a sales tactic and wouldn't have minded if it had stopped there. We fell in love with one of the puppies and decided to fill out one of the interest forms so we could see her price. $5,000! When we told her that was way out of our budget and she could just stop there because we didn't want to waste her time, she scolded us and would not let us leave. She continued her nearly five-minute spiel about their warranties and guarantees. We again told her it was way out of our budget and nothing she could say would change our mind. She asked us what we would name the puppy and told us there was a puppy shortage. She then said she could do $3800. Again, no, please let us leave. We tried to give her back the puppy and she--once again--scolded two fully-grown women and said she could not take her because she had an iPad in her hand. Then, she said she was going to call the breeder and see what she could do. Thirty seconds later (definitely not long enough for her to have called someone) she came back with great news! They can do $3000. With having advertised that their dogs start at $399, we were not expecting to pay over $1000, so that was still way out of our price range. We started begging her to please take this dog so we can go. She kept trying to manipulate us into buying the dog and how "we're not going to find a dog like this anywhere else." Honestly, I almost wanted to, just to keep the puppy from going back into this place that clearly just treats them like used cars. She then tells us she has a west highland terrier to show us that is much more in our budget. We told her we didn't want to look at the Westie, we just wanted to leave. But once again, she walked away leaving us with this dog that we had already fallen in love with, but just could not afford. She comes back with the Westie and forced us to play with it. It was humiliating. When we told her to take it back, she once again refused because she now had the OTHER dog in her arms. We were standing at the gate of the playpen, just trying to leave but she literally would not let us. She then got all the way down to $1800 for the original puppy (which we may have considered if she had started there), but we were just angry from how condescending and manipulative she was being. Finally, we were able to leave. To top it all off, the next day, she left my mother a message asking if we were still interested in the West Highland Terrier we had come in to see :) Again, other people with different sales reps looked like they were having a much better time than us. We may have even walked away with a puppy if we had been treated differently. My mom is almost 70 years old and this woman was talking to us like children. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any sales rep in my life. read more

ZERO STARS ACTUALLY. This establishment is quite literally a scam. Careless & money hungry. After reading lots of HIDDEN reviews and doing some research I can definitely say this business is a cold scam. If they can sell you a puppy at 8000$ they will even if the puppy is actually 800 at most . The veterinary care that they claim to just "give" you has been said by numerous reviews to have loop holes and people have been stuck with SICK PUPPIES and GIANT VET BILLS. They only have a 48 hour return policy (another scam). These heartless salespeople will pray on your families vulnerability and desire for a loving pet. They don't actually care if these pups go to loving homes they just want to make sure they get their money. I want to also put out there the manager I assume named Lindsey , said she will be just a call away if we needed anything or had any questions.. this was a lie. If you call after getting a puppy the phone-line will literally send you to a separate company to deal with you. THEY DONT EVEN WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU AFTER YOU LEAVE THE STORE. They may have gotten my family with their scam but if I could save even just one family from this company with this honest review I know something good has come from my mistakes. Here are ways they hide their scam. They will bribe people to do reviews for a 5 star to get a free items or toy. They will let you bond and play with the puppies to pray on your emotions. They will pressure you with these high prices and call it NORMAL (nothing normal about that) when breeders don't even cost as much. They don't give you the price of the puppy til after you give them your license and information They will tell you tell you they have LIFETIME VET POLICY but don't forget all the loopholes it has. They will let you finance the pup with APR's interest rates as high 29% and going up so even after you agree to pay thousands they tax those thousands for more. This company will not ever get a recommendation from me as a customer. This establishment literally has shocked and disgusted me. read more

This place is worse than a used car dealership. I regret ever stepping into this store. You will not get a straight and truthful answer about the price of the puppies. Pay attention to the "lifetime warranty." We were offered an extended warranty plan in addition to the lifetime warranty. I never knew a lifetime warranty could be extended? The sales agent (no older than 16 years old) couldn't explain the offer. She seemed just as confused as we were. If you happen to fall into this trap and find a cute little puppy that you love.... be smart.... negotiate the price as low as possible. read more

This is the first time we have a pet in our family so we didn't know how the experience would be like and it was a little stressful. We came to this place because it was conveniently located near my dad's house and we were able to leave the kids at his place so we can browse on our own without the pressure of being with them, we didn't want them having high hopes... as we were just browsing and wanted to know the estimate of buying a puppy. We came several times to this place, it's super clean and organized, but depending on who takes care of you the experience feels different. KT and Rajah were super helpful but there was another lady there that was very pushy, I don't know her name she has black hair and Italian accent, I'm not sure if she's the owner or manager, but she sure acted like it. The problem with this place really is the fact that they won't give you the price of the dog up front (we're not sure if this is the modus operandi of all puppy places or only this one) but it feels like you're buying a car! We would've like to see the prices in the window and see the puppies that are within our budget, and not fall in love of a puppy only to find out it's about $5,000. Remember this is our first time so we're not sure if these prices are "normal" and if negotiating is a thing. We didn't have a budget in mind but we knew there was no way we would pay over $2000 for a dog. So I feel like they do this to see who's willing to pay an outrageous price and go from there. Also they don't let you take pictures of the animals, I'm not sure why. After a couple times visiting the place we finally found one and they accommodated to our budget, it's nice you can interact with the puppy to see if you bond. Like a said KT made the experience much nicer, they also offer financing which is helpful. After you purchase they start offering "add ons" such as the crate combo, which is super pricey etc. of course when you're there you're excited and want to buy all their recommendations, after you get home you realized you bought a bunch of unnecessarily overpriced items. So try to only buy the food and minimum necessities and but other stuff later little by little. So like I said we are HAPPY to have our puppy but wish the experience wouldn't have been so traumatic with the price negotiation etc. read more

This place will absolutely waste your time. They have very cute dogs some are mixed few full breed and you have to fill out a lot of paperwork before they will tell you the price of the dog. We were very disappointed that online advertised dogs starting at $399, we called and advised that we were interested in a certain price range and told the lady we didn't want to come if they didn't have any in that range. We were encouraged to come visit. We left immediately 15-20 min drive just to discover once we arrived that although they don't have an exact price on the dogs that all of the dogs they currently have was $2000 or more. (Why didn't they just say this on the phone). Very poor sales technics. They try to convince you to finance a dog once you arrive. They may not be around for long in my opinion. We will deal with more honest and upfront companies. read more

Not sure how to rate this establishment because we didn't actually purchase a puppy. We walked in today and we were greeted nicely. The place was clean. However, their was an overwhelming smell of bleach. I mean, wayyy too much bleach. Which wouldn't have been too bad if the doors were open or if their weren't small animals present. They had a few pups in cages. The one we liked seemed really sad but could have just been tired or the fact that it was caged. Who knows. We asked about the process and it was explained in a nice manner. We asked about the pricing and we weee told that they start at 400 and could be well over into the thousands. We wanted to know the price for the specific sad looking pup we liked and were told we had to fill out an application because they're microchipped ? And then they'll run the price. Made absolutely no sense. The price shouldn't depend on the buyers information and I'm not sure what microchipping has to do with the price. Why would I fill out an application. Well first off good day, my desire to purchase a puppy has been off the charts. I went to this store to give it a check and everything has been exactly to the T from all these 1 star reviews. I don't advise anyone to even walk through their door. All prices are negotiable and determined by the questions they ask you, (pause for emphasis) you will be INTERROGATED. I truly wish the best for all their puppies. Don't support this business, many have suffered. Take a look at all the other reviews and then come to a conclusion. Please think thrice. read more

When you come to this store it's a bad experience from start to end. The puppies are sick and mis-treated. Some of the pups have a cough, and other reviews say that dogs purchased here were later diagnosed with pneumonia. This is not a reputable place, that features pups from established breeders who are well cared for. They are selling sick dogs from backyard breeders and/or puppy mills. If you purchase from them you are DIRECTLY FUNDING ANIMAL ABUBSE AND EXPLOITATION. They don't have a heart, and the puppies are just pay-checks / bags of money to them. There is no love here. I will be honest I was skeptical coming to this location because of all the mixed reviews. I did go in with a lot of questions and even printed out some reviews that I had concerns with. They were very open with the reviews and their opinion on them. They also did an awesome job with answering all and I mean ALL of my questions. I basically ripped them apart with my questions haha. At the end, it was a good experience they were very flexible with me and I was able to go home with a puppy that day and I don't have that good of credit. Their financing plan is different it runs on a 90-101 day interest free plan and then after those days your interest is 126%. At least that's what it was for me. So I suggest if you're getting a puppy then have some extra cash ready that way you have a good a chunk of money as a down payment and then you won't have much to worry about after that. I am very happy I came to this location. I've had my puppy for 2 weeks now and she's very healthy! You get 12 and 16 weeks shots for free at two participating vets at this location and I'll be honest with you the vets they work with are AMAZING!!!! One thing is that only the shots are covered for those two visits (12 and 16 weeks). If you want a deworming shot or anything more than what's on paper that's extra money. Overall, you do get a lot for the money you are spending. Nala and I thank you chews a puppy. Also do go in there expecting to pay 1,000 or even more for the puppy you want. They mentioned they have 200$ puppies however, that really isn't the case. All the puppies there have a grand total of 2,000 - 6,000 even more depending on the breed. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who doesn't have at least $5,000 to spend on a dog. To start off with this place will be PACKED. Despite COVID-19 they will make you wait inside the store with no option to leave and come back when it's your turn. The employees seem stressed and on edge. Our sales lady was very abrasive and was ready to kick us out of the play room when we told her our budget. She was pushy, rude and didn't let us feel a connection with the puppy and kept asking questions to feel us out and see how interested we really were. They will not give you a price unless you show real interest then you have to harass them to lower the price. This place is worse than any two bit used car lot!! They don't advertise the price. They told us a two month old golden retriever puppy was $5000.00. When we told them that was more than we planned to spend the woman said she would go talk to her manager. She came back and said they could sell her for $2700. Then she added taxes and some dealer fee that was 200.00.... THIS PLACE SUCKS!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! read more
