After waiting in the holding cell for an hour and falling in love with the adorable puppy we met, we finally were attended to. I asked on 3 occasions to give me the price of the puppy and the answer was the same schitck over and over again about hypo allergenic and microchips and what they offer. Surprise, not really cuz I saw the scam a mile away, but surprise to my kid who was holding the puppy that I had to remove from his arms cuz a dog that goes for 1200 all over the internet is 3849 in their store. So we left. Only to be called by them an hour after I left and offer the same puppy for 1800 thats 2049 cheaper than when I left. I immediately said that I hope they go out of business as fast as possible because people in Ocoee and Winter Garden don't need a garbage business like this here. 1 hour of my son crying and having to explain that his mom and dad although they loved the dog and saved up for it ,could't get it because of shady business practices and ridiculously high prices. They play with emotions, you have a problem that they can solve and tell you all the wonderful benefits they give with the puppy but waaaay overpriced. Don't do it. The puppies are adorable and the store claims to have several different layers of protection for your purchase, but they refuse to honor those commitments. I bought a puppy a year ago and the poor dog has had nothing but medical issues since then. He was put on medication the day after we brought him home and he required medications so strong that it has ruined his digestive system. He also spent 48 hours admitted to an emergency vet due to pneumonia. Our vet has stopped working with this company because of their disregard for the health of the animals while in their care and their refusal to honor their warranties. I was given the 2 finance option they currently offer ,we choose "90 day -same as cash-" which is bullshit. And I'll explain why... 1st my account was setup as auto draft... (no big deal) I'm going to probably use that same account...but no one told me. 2nd while the girl we were sent to is having me sign for the contract, I notice something about a $40.00 ??? I questioned and decided to read at least that paragraph.... well bottom line you have to pay that fee to pay in full your balance before the 90 days ( so no same as cash ...) and again no one told us, when I asked she didn't know what to say other than it was an 'EasyPay' fee. This should've be enough for me to just decide to pay my own or just stop the whole thing... my husband and I talked and decided to go fwd cause we "already like this Maltese puppy" picked a crate, toys etc... 3rd Within the week I'm checking my accounts making payments etc, there's another FEE from easy pay for $8.75 charged the day of my purchase, which AGAIN no one told us about, frankly i don't even know right now what's for ‍. Try not to think much about it and go about my life and enjoy our puppy.... 4th We were told about the site were you can get the training videos, tips, health info etc etc (all the sales pitch) and that's were I could go to also UPDATE the microchip of my puppy with our info..."UPDATE" welllllll go to the site I do not find anything about updating, just to enroll...with the hope that I'm just not finding it I decided to call and inquire ... guess what ??? Is not just going in to "update" is you going in and actually PAYING and enrolling that microchip... another 17.xx .. which guess what??? AGAIN we weren't told. Mind you I'm paying over 2.6k for this puppy...and we already have 3 other dogs (which 2 still puppies themselves) so problem is not the $ or that we were desperate to have a cute puppy....,my huge issue is NOT been informed about this extra fees, which is my right as a customer and just the right thing to do period... I could've made my own decision of maybe again using my own cash, deciding if maybe I didn't want to purchase him at that moment or whatever the heck I wanted. Crystal who happens to be who answer my inquiry about the whole microchip "update" was condescending and her answer was "I'm sorry that you feel that way" everyone that has been involved in any type of way with a call center or bad customer service knows exactly what that means. Just got a puppy from there and a day later she is very sick and is now diagnosed with a bad upper respiratory infection which she has now spread to another pet. It is so contagious it can be spread through clothing. She had a slight runny nose when we brought her home that night but thought nothing of it seeing how we were assured all there puppies where healthy. Also the puppies are all very highly priced which they absolutely do not let you know until after you play with them and fill out paperwork. Do not finance!!!! The apr rates are insanely high and you will pay double the already crazy high price. Just do yourself a favor and stay away. These people are used car salesman on steroids. We went in looking for two puppies. We asked the prices and were told they would have to check for each individual pup. We picked the two we thought would be a good match and sat in the play area to see what they were like. After a few minutes I again asked the prices for these two and was told by the trainer that she wasn't sure she would have to check and she asked if there were anymore I would to see. So we picked two more but quickly came back to the original two and again asked the prices. The trainer said she would go check but to keep playing with the pups and she would come back with the information we needed. So we fell in love and were 100% sure these were the pups we've been searching for. After over 45 minutes of trying to get a straight answer about the price, the trainer came back and quoted us almost $3k for each individual pup. We told them there was no way we could afford that and said we needed to leave. She said well wait here because I can see you really want these puppies let me see what I can work out. A few minutes later she said she could take $400 off for the pair and a few minutes after that it was $1800 per pup if we took both. We still could not afford that and left in tears. read more

This Place sold me a sick Puppy, the puppy showed sings of illness the same day he came home. I had to take him to the Vet and pay a bill of 1250 USD on treatments, that was not covered by them as promised at the time of purchase. I even took him to their vet to make sure that the treatment and the warranty was covered but they did not reimbursed me the vet bills and made me pay 2000 USD to receive the puppy back. My puppy was vomiting and pooping BLOOD and the store manager said that this was only an upset stomach and for this reason the warranty was not covering me. I'm out 2250 USD and no puppy. Not counting the emotional damage that this whole situation did to my kids that were waiting to have a puppy for years, unfortunately I choose the worst people to deal with. DO NOT BUY A PUPPY HERE, PUPPIES ARE SICK, REALLY SICK. When I was returning the puppy there were 2 other families with the same issue and the only solution that they were giving to all of us was to keep the sick puppy or pay half price of wait you paid. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE you'll loose your money and the emotional stress will be too much to handle. I bought a puppy German Shepherd there about a year & a half ago... very overpriced. Like everyone else is saying as well, I wasn't able to know the price until AFTER i signed for my puppy. We had problems with most of the staff (to a point where after paying almost the whole price of 5,000+ I wasn't allowed to take the puppy home), but some were nice. I went in Monday & just today with my boyfriend to look at other puppies. Monday was great, the young girl who worked there was very helpful in helping us try to learn more on what dog would fit for us & allowed us to visit with a couple. When we went in today, another lady (talks very loud) who worked there allowed us to visit with only one dog & quickly said "have a good day" before even allowing us to ask anymore questions or anything like that. My boyfriend & I are both 22 years old & possibly look younger than that, not sure if she felt we weren't interested in a dog & just wanting to pet puppies or what, but it was extremely rude for her to hurry us out. Safe to say we will be purchasing elsewhere for a puppy. I was willing to give them one more chance especially with the precious puppy golden we saw today, but another bad experience there was like the icing on the cake. I feel for those puppies & I hope they get safe homes, but some of those employees seem like they don't care as long as you pay the big bucks. The worst place ever!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone. First they take hours just got you to see and pick a dog. Then it's a lengthy process to know how much one pup is. Then they lie and say they offer all of these things that's what makes the dog so expensive but it's all a lie! There is no lifetime dog training and if you special order a dog just be mindful of what your asking for isn't written on the paper you will not receive what you ask for even though you don't write up the paper an employee does. I spoke with Stephanie but I did the whole process with Sarah who told me I should take ownership for receiving the wrong dog lol. I laughed because I won't work there nor did I wrote up the special order. I explained what I wanted which is a standard chocolate poodle that's Akc register. And got none of what I asked for. This dog isn't registered nor can it be registered by Akc. It's only been 7 days and they told me they can't take it back or change out the dog for which I requested. I tried working with the company first before taking legal action. Trust me when I say it's always best to go straight to a breeder and not a third party dealer. They have no education on animals and their mission is just to sell not caring if you got what was ordered or requested. I asked Stephanie for the owners name since she said it was a mom and pop establishment she told me she only knows her first name. Then told me the employees never lie about anything lol. I thought that was another joke. When I asked for my deposit back after they didn't get the right puppy they wouldn't even give me back my deposit basically forcing me to buy a puppy that wasn't what I ordered. The worst place ever. I put a deposit down on a puppy and then was taken to the hospital due to allergies. I was told I couldn't have a puppy. I went there to try to get my money back and they would not give me my money back. $2000 down the toilet. They even took another $1000 in cash (they said it had to be in cash) while I was there to "pay off my loan" that I was given for the puppy. Well guess what? They didn't pay off the loan. They forced me to take the puppy home and then when I couldn't have it due to allergies they wouldn't take it back. They want me to pay another $1,700 to them in order to give the puppy back, which they NEVER said to me when I took the puppy home in the first place. I will not give them another cent of my money. They are scammers and they are making me pay them for the puppy that I can't even have. Also, they are making me pay the $1000 loan that they swore to me that they would pay off with the cash I gave them. AWFUL COMPANY. I will be putting this review on every website they are on as well as reporting them to the better business bureau. Which, by the way, they already have 8 complaints against them with in the past 6 months. Also, they requested that I take this down twice because they "went above and beyond for us" but I will not be taking this review down because people need to know what they're getting into when purchasing from this horrible place. Oh also, the puppy won't eat or drink and cries every time we hold her, we think she might have been abused due to how she acts around people. We went in to look at the puppies. We did not have any specific breed in mind. We were allowed to handle and spend time with all puppies that interested us. There was no pressure to purchase a dog immediately. Anne was very nice and accommodating to us. We came back to the store a number of times before making a purchase. After our purchase the follow up was very good. Even knowing this was not our only dog, we received phone calls at least 3 times per week for the first two weeks to make sure the dog was adjusting to his new surroundings. This place is a huge scam! We got a puppy, what they don't tell you is they give you a loan with a 95.99% interest rate. They don't let you read the paperwork and don't inform you of interest rates. We have put in a complaint with the department of agriculture in both Florida and Utah since that is where their loan company is out of. Just do not get a dog from here. I'm choosing to write a review because I don't want anyone else to experience the same issue. The staff at Chews is wonderful. Their policies were very bait and switch. I hadn't planned to purchase a puppy that day... but I fell in love with a little 2mo old Havanese. I asked several times how much she was... and received the run around... I had $1.5-2K to spend and felt that it was more than reasonable to pay for a breeder puppy. Again... over and over I asked... no response as to the cost (or range) for the puppy. Then I went into the little room and played with her and FELL IN LOVE with her. I attached myself to this gorgeous little girl. After 15min I was asked if I was ready to start the survey and paperwork. Again... no mention of price. Finally I said... before I move forward I need to know the price as it could determine if we go any further. She mentioned... it was 2x-3x (or more) than what I was budgeting. I was devastated. I had attached myself to this puppy. She mentioned that financing was available... but for a puppy... if you can't afford a puppy upfront... you shouldn't buy a puppy. I teared up right then and there as I knew I had to give this poor girl back. I was then informed that any of the breeds I was looking at would be in a similar range. Again... devastated and upset. I won't be returning and am hurt that they pulled you in and play with your emotions like that. It's not fair for the customer or the puppy. I'm still upset when I think about it the day after. It was incredibly hurtful. I'll be continuing my search to find reputable breeders who charge a reasonable rate for a family pet. Giving it one star because you can't choose zero. This may be a scam and might be a front for something else. The person we talked to did not have a name tag nor did she give us her name. She did not know the price of any of the dogs, nor was it posted anywhere for people to see. No price tags is a red flag. We picked out a small dog and when we asked her what the dog was charting at, she gave us a blank stare as if she had no idea what we just asked. This person was obviously did not have any experience handling dogs. When we asked about the price of the dog again, we were told we had to fill out adoption paperwork before getting a price. Chews a puppy is by far the worst place ever to buy a pet from. I was lied to by the staff when I asked what was the starting price for the puppies. I was told by staff that all of their puppies start at no less than $2200 but their website shows starting at $399. They will not tell you the price of the puppies upfront. They require you to go in a room and meet/bond with the puppies before they tell you a price because they know once you bond with the puppy you'll fall in love and they then use that as the perfect time to scam you of the price by telling you the puppy is $4700. I told them that was too expensive for a dog, so the worker walks off and comes back with a new price of $3200. Again I still tell her that's too much. She leave again and comes back to tell me that you applied a discount and got it down to $2400. I tell her that's still too much then she offers financing options for the $2400. I apply for the financing and she tells me I'm approved for the $2400. I get to the counter and she has me sign the paperwork stating that I paid $794 in the store and the remainder balance is $2400. I asked several times what was the finance charge and the interest fee and what is the pay schedule that the amount would come out of my account, she told me $119 would be deducted out of my bank account ever two weeks until the full balance of $2400 is paid in full. Once I got home that night I received a contract stating that the full loan amount is $7,794. I went back to Chews a Puppy store the next day demanding answers as to why I was never showed this amount inside of the store and that I wouldn't dare pay $7,794 for a dog. I told them I wanted to return her because that was too much and was sold the puppy under false pretenses. The Supervisor Ashley who was extremely rude, obnoxious and insulting told me I had to pay an additional $1899 just for them to take her back in the store. The Supervisor Ashley rudely insinuated that I was lying about the whole situation by denying everything I said by telling me she doubts that this happen when she wasn't even there the night before. I couldn't pay the additional $1899 to rehome her so now I'm stuck in an awful situation. If only I looked at the reviews on here and on the BBB then I wouldn't have even went to this terrible scamming Pet Store. read more

Horrible place to get a dog don't waste your time with them. They are in the business of making money and not for getting the dogs into a good home. They are selling extremely overpriced dogs for $4000-$5000 dollars and are not able to prove that these are show quality dogs. NEVER give them your business. They are a predatory business that preys on unknowing young families and children. They make it seem like they are trying to get you your dream dog but in actuality they continue to push financing options that make paying for this extremely overpriced dog seem worth it. I had a puppy for less than 3 hours before I decided to call to see if I could get a refund because I realized that I could not give the dog the life it deserved. After calling, they would only take the dog back if I paid them half of what I was supposed to pay in CASH. They wouldn't accept any other form of payment. A 50% administration fee is already ridiculous, but they require you to pay cash because they know that they couldn't get away with it if people had the ability to dispute the charge. Well after reading all of the other negative reviews I guess I got off pretty easy. All of the reviews are true about the price, financing, totally overpriced, evasiveness etc... The puppy I bought is a Maltichon and I love her dearly and so does my daughter and grandchildren. However, she would not eat that black food they recommended (Victor), which was included along with the crate package. I called the store several times telling them she would not eat. They said to wet it with hot chicken broth and put wet food on top. I did that and she would still not eat it. Less than a week after bringing her home she had a seizure so I brought her to their vet, 24/7 Animal Hospital, and she was severely hypoglycemic. They gave her some canned food and she ate like a champion. She had IVs, glucose, and feedings every hour for about 8 hours and then I took her home. It cost me $539 for the vet bill. And yes, none of it was covered by Chews A Puppy. Now that I see the other posts I am one of the lucky ones. Please if you buy a puppy from them do not buy the black food they recommend as most of the dogs will not eat it (according to the vet) and yet the store insists that they do. read more

I recently called saying that I was interested in a puppy from them, but I was hesitant because of a news article from January 2020 stating that "Action 9 has uncovered more than a dozen complaints against the Ocoee store." I called to see if they could instill some confidence in their own store and the first person I talked to couldn't even do that. She just kept reading a script to me in a robotic/cold tone about their warranties (which have a lot of loopholes because the article stated the store didn't help with their sick puppy's medical bills) and I was put on an abrupt hold. I was transferred to what I'm assuming is a manager and she read me the same script and told me to come into the store. After I repeated my question about any new policies or information that would validate their store, the manager cut me off while I was talking and told me that "maybe we aren't the store for you."
