Was super excited to see a Chevy's in Missouri. I absolutely love their chips and salsa and since so many of them are now gone, I really wanted to try this place out. I got my usual, a pound of chips and a pint of salsa to go. The salsa tasted exactly like it always does, garlicky and fire roasted goodness. The super disappointing part were the chips. I don't know if it's a regional thing but they weren't the paper thin chips I've grown to love all these years. Some of the chips were also stale so that was a bummer. I'm still giving it a three star experience because of how fast they served up the chips and salsa to go and the salsa was on point but I can't hide the sadness I felt when I ate the chips and it wasn't the same. read more

Don't go for brunch. Mimosas are terrible and are basically just orange juice concentrate. The server brought us 1 water for 2 people. If they're not going to put salt and pepper in eggs in the kitchen they should at least put some on the table. Also the chilaquiles were raw eggs on crispy tortillas. Zero stars. read more

I came to Chevys for lunch with an old friend from high school. To put this into perspective I graduated from high school 46 years ago. The school I went to we started in 7th grade. So I have known him for 52 years. Fun to talk to old friends over a meal of Tex Mex food. As usual in older Mexican places the second you sit down the chips and salsa comes out and is set on your table. The salsa was mild but very flavorful. I ordered the smothered burrito. Which came with rice, beans, sour cream, and guacamole. The burrito was filled with beef and cheese. It was one of the dishes that every bite you know that you will finish the meal and be satisfied. I was in a burrito stupor after I finished lunch. This location was originally a glass company that was changed into a restaurant over 25 years ago. The inside has gone through many changes it used to be just a wide open space now it is has many area's separated by glass walls so you get a more intimate feeling than before. Came here for the first time today , I love chevys in California and was excited when I saw the sign. Came in and had a wait to be seated, no big deal, ordered queso but when it came out we weren't brought any chips - had to ask - I ordered fish tacos and in the description it says cabbage slaw - but when it came to my table it had wilted lettuce on it, when I brought it to the waitresses attention she tried to argue with me about it instead of trying to remedy the situation - I sent my plate back and was not offered to order anything else, I was asked by the manager how I liked everything and told him what happened and he apologized and gave both of my kids a dessert on the house, I thought he was nice but I will not be back. read more

The food was excellent. I sat at the bar that had only three other patrons present. The bartender while not rude was not friendly. While only having four customers (counting me) at his twenty seat bar, he was so pre-occupied doing "Busy" work that I, and the other three patrons as well, had to flag him down for service. I came from California and am accustomed to eating authentic Mexican food so I'm a bit biased. We've stopped in here a few times for a quick bite because you can always get seated and service is fast. I have had the chicken quesadilla and nachos. Both the chicken and steak (tried my husband's) were okay. The nachos were not what I expected, which was a pile of nachos with the usual toppings. Instead each nacho came topped with the toppings. Thumbs up for that. Margaritas were syrupy and too sweet for me. It's a good place when in a pinch for time or with a large group or kids, but I wouldn't satisfy my craving for Mexican food here. read more

I really like this Chevys it's like the only one in the area. My favorite is the flautas with jalapeño jelly dipping sauce. My husband gets the surf and turf. If you ask the server she will get dough for the kids to play with...the salsa is always awesome. It's a chain restaurant but good and family friendly. It can get pretty loud in here but it's a good time. I don't get them all the time but they have great Cadillac margaritas...it's worth the extra dough. Update 5/25/19 always good! Server Laurie B is awesome great service, keeps our drink cups full and very helpful with kid requests. I highly recommend the mixed grill fajitas with the additional ribs...enough to split with someone and let a little kid eat off your plate too!!! read more

First time here. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Inside is huge. Lots of tables. We were in an area for the happy hour. The service was great. They continued to come around to check if we needed more drinks. We got the fresh mex samplers. It includes, in the order I enjoyed it the most: crispy chicken flautas - my favorite. The corn and chicken was tasty and the shell was crispy. Chicken fajita nachos - this was a good nacho. Each chip had plenty of chicken, beans, and cheese. Border wings - these were pretty good. Sauce was pretty sweet and there was plenty of sauce. Decently sized. chicken quesadilla - didn't really like the flavor of these. Overall a good visit. I'll return for a meal. Got seated straight away, waiter showed up toot sweet with chips and salsa (which was really good), brought menus, got our drink orders. Food arrived quickly, I had nachos and my friend had enchiladas. The nachos had plenty of toppings and I thought they were good. My friend said her enchiladas were awesome. Wow. I had to wait almost 24 hours to write this. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews. We made reservations (on open table) and were seated immediately. That was the only "immediate" thing that night. We waited to order, had to ask for refills, and basically felt abandoned by our server. And it wasn't a server shortage issue. There were servers everywhere. And they were all serving food and refilling drinks way before us. We were a party of 3. We sat outside. That was fine. We had to ask for refills of chips and salsa, and were told that all of the salsa cups were dirty and had to wait for clean ones? The special was 3 tacos for $5. My friend wanted flour tortillas instead of corn and was told no? My quesadilla was good, but the queso was brought out with the food, and without chips that I had to ask for more of. The tacos and enchiladas that my friends had were also good. The 2 stars were for the food and quick seating. The absolutely horrible service unfortunately outweighed that. I really hate writing bad reviews. Maybe if we had a different server my score would've been higher. read more

Incredibly poor service and mediocre food. I am part of a group of 8 to 10 who dined there every two weeks around midweek. The service continued to decline over a couple months, to the point where our entire group voted to take their business elsewhere. -- On Wednesday May 29 we had to practically yell at a waiter to come over to our table just to be able to give our orders. Even then, the waiter failed to take the order for several of us at our table and they had to wait even longer for the waiter to return, in order to place their orders. Still, not all of us had placed our orders and eventually another staff came over and finally took our remaining orders. The entire service was so bad, it was ridiculous. - I had walked into the restaurant and sat at the table at 6:45pm and I finally had a plate of tacos by 8:20pm. And even then, the meat in one of my tacos contained a glob of something that reminded me of cool fat, I didn't eat all of the second taco. Note: a manager came to our table and apologized for the poor service. But he did not offer to give us at least take half-off the price of our meals. Had he done so, maybe I would not have posted this review. . I will never eat there again. read more

I hate chain Mexican restaurants. Where do I start? The food came out Luke warm. After dinner we moved to the outside patio area for another cocktail. I ordered the same drink I had while dining and noticed a $3.00 price difference - $9.00 inside and $6.00 outside patio. Ask to see the manager and she explained that happy hour prices are only good on the patio and in the bar. That's some BS. We wanted outside dining and it wasn't available. Server/manager had the nerve to tell us if we mentioned happy hour in the dining area we would have received the happy hour price. Didn't even offer to compensate for price difference. read more
