Stopped by recently to get a small snack and decided to get their tacos instead. They have a grill inside the store where they prepare Mexican food. Their tacos cost $4.50, double tortilla and decently served. The price of the taco does not reflect the choice of protein. I mentioned it to the cashier to which he responded well you're not getting $2.50 tacos.. everything the same.. it doesn't matter .. he kind of brushed me off. After that. I just wanted him to charge me for what my order was. I had no problem paying for my meal. He made it seem like I was trying to get a bargain. I just spent $2.50 to put air in my car. The machine was broken and only went up to 30 pounds per square inch and I needed 40 . When I went into to talk to the managers, they laughed, and they told me that the air machine was not their machine. I asked for my $2.50 back and they refused. Such bullshit. Have been coming off and on here for the past 30 years and this is definitely my last time visiting it. The rudest nastiest girl working there Deliberately unpleasant with zero customer service skills. I think that the recent reviews are probably due to her. What a shame that the owners of this gas station have no idea that this is going on most likely. I had a flat tire and asked her to turn on the air and she replied when I'm done with what I'm doing. I went back there twice and she still wouldn't take one step to the left to push the button until the gentleman working with her did it. Pump. Eat. Drink... A one stop shop for day to day, week to week or getaway gas and go... The Cheveron in Tarzana that sits across from the 101 east on ramp near Tampa Ave, but actually off Ventura Blvd and Vanalden (a street you've never heard of) is a great place to fuel up your whip or yourself. I often stop in for a snack, beverage or minty freshness... they do have a full service sandwich, hot dog, burrito situation here sorta like 7eleven but more deli like with someone working that counter inside and a separate counter for mart purchases, gas payment and/or misc items. Chill station clerks who are almost too laid back at times which is mostly a good thing... but once or twice I've been rung up double for the same item(s) which is an easy fix... I usually ask for receipts here just in case. Some tables and benches out front with umbrellas make for a nice spot to cool off if on foot or in need of a quick rest. Good amount of room for large vehicles and trucks... the pumps off Vanalden seem to have the most room and space... never seen it too crazy busy here mainly because of the above average gas prices being so close to a freeway entrance... however you can save a little with your Safeway/Vons/Pavilions club cards... which counts for something, right... They're currently redoing the carwash but should be up in a few months... Restrooms are in deccent shape in case you're wondering... read more

When you're literally running on empty, and gas prices are sky high, sometimes you just have to go to the closest spot. This was the case the other evening when we were in Tarzana. We'd come from a meeting at the Tarzana Community Center, and this Chevron station is very close by. We were able to gas and go quickly. The location is utilitarian; no fancy landscaping or water features here. I didn't have reason to go into their food mart, but noting that they do have one available. read more

After dark it is not a pleasant peace to go to. They wait for you at the door asking for money. Not a pleasant experience. Now I feel for them, for anyone who needs to ask for money. But I also wouldn't recommend coming here after dark. And if you do stick to the gas area and away from the convince store. Amazing location, ok gas prices. read more

Being the type of person who'll try anything anywhere, I've been to this gas station on numerous occasions ONLY because the Mexican food here is hands down ridiculous! The freshly prepared meats (birria and barbacoa are standouts) used in the oversized burritos to the delicious tacos abd tamales are top notch. And I kid you not, I saw the G&S delivery truck dropping off 'expensive' stuff one day and even asked the guy about the kind of the cuts they were using. He said the customers don't even realize they're eating the same quality meats as a fine dining establishment, so you know there are no shortcuts being taken here! Victor (who prepares the food in the front) and Thomas (the guy who cooks most of the stuff in the back) definitely know how to keep customers coming back time and time again. Be sure to try their hot salsa which will make even something like Sriracha taste as weak as tabasco! The price is on point, the food is fresh, and you'll wonder how it's possible that this place hasn't branched outside a gas station! read more

YES THEY SELL ACTUAL FOOD. This a great place to get some food and I know what some people may think but this place sells some good mexican food. The place is kind of expensive for gas but the food inside is really good. There is actual cook that puts together your food. My favorite meats in there are barbacoa, chile verde, and al pastor. The burritos are huge and are a bargain they go for 5.50. Their soup with birria is good and hits the spot on a cold. Very convenient location. Next to my house and across the 101 freeway entrance. Has a mini-mart inside that's full of good stuff. Place is always clean. Couple reasons why I gave it 4 stars is because sometimes the line is out of control and some of the workers that prepare deli food (on the left) stare and make comments in their own language. Not very professional and kind of annoying. We're not 13 anymore, and you're old enough to be my father. Gas prices are reasonable. read more

I was really surprised as to how good the food was here. All their plates are $7.49, and it's home cooking style with a pretty big portion. They serve the food "open", ready to add from the salsa bar as you like, then they wrap it up for you. Breakfast is served all day.
