My husband, my toddler, and I stopped to get air for our tires, instead of being politely turned away because of the policy of having to purchase gas before using the air pump, we were rudely turned away & called racist slurs & disrespectful names in front of our child. The employee followed my husband out of the store and continued to talk to us in a very disrespectful manner & even tried to fight my husband. Worst place ever. These people lie. I went one morning for gas a little before 6 am i sat in my car while the gas was pumping because it was 39 degrees out. (I had a quarter tank of gas before getting gas) i kept looking back at the gas pump to check. Then I was like what is going on why is it at $78 well the pump never clicked off gas just kept coming out there was a puddle of gas . I clicked it off and took it out. No one was there so I went back to let them know. The guy in the store called the owner then said there's nothing o can do come back when the owner is here. When I asked when will he be in he saysonday 8:30 to 10 am. I tell him ill be at work you can watch the video to see what happens you guys have cameras every where. He just said you have to talk to the owner. I called several times and 1 of the guys said the owner never comes in. Yikes, maybe it's the prime location or lack of Chevrons in the area but the pricing at this Chevron is WAY off. I've seen 91 PREMIUM at other Shells/Chevrons in San Jose for the same price as what they charge here for 87 regular. Maybe they know that the high school is across the street and that students would pump gas anywhere with their parents credit cards lol Also not sure how legal the $10 minimum purchase is for AIR. Super super super long wait. Maybe 4 cars ahead of me and once we got in line it just didn't move. For an auto wash this had to be the slowest service I've ever seen - and this is as a Saturday, so I can only imagine how much business this place looses everyday. This gas station and the guy that runs it deserves 0 stars. The car wash is more expensive than others like it, it runs $8 for the most basic car wash. Because I thought that the prices were steep, I decided on the basic $8 wash. Coming out of the wash, there were many areas where the car obviously was not washed or even touched by the machine. There was bird poo that was literally just smeared around. I have posted photos. I went in to ask for a rewash. The guy said they don't offer rewashes. We responded that the wash didn't get everything and there were obvious spots that hadn't even been touched. His response was something along the lines of "well you got the cheapest one so....." Extremely rude service. We have filed a complaint with Chevron. Hopefully this owner learns his lesson. UPDATE******** Chevron's customer service team got back to us. They said that this particular Chevron is a franchise location and thus couldn't do anything about it. Seems like a systemic problem starting with Chevron. On the morning of June 22, 2018, I brought my car in to get a tire patched. Tire was patched in under 30 minutes and cost $25. But, I had to go back several hours later, because my car alerted me that the tire that just got patched was low on air. The same guy I dealt with earlier checked it out, added air, and said all was good. Then, on my way to another city on June 23, 2018, got another alert that the same tire had low pressure. I looked at the tire and it was visibly deflated. I ended up adding air and going to the closest tire service center. At the tire service center, they actually removed the tire, which the guy at Chevron the day before, had not done. They checked for holes in tire under water and saw that the previous day's patch job was not done well, it was leaking AND the patch was just put over the nail that had originally caused the tire to need a patch. Also, the hole was too big for just a patch job to work. I ended up having to buy a new tire. Looking back, it was very scary to have the tire deflate like that during a car ride with my daughter. read more

Went to vacuum my car. Someone was parked in the spot for vacumming and wasn't vacumming. Instead of bothering the guys inside, I moved the vacuum and pulled my car up. Some guy from inside comes out yelling at me, why did you move the vacuum, you turned it off. I said I was going to vacuum. He kept up with his hostile behavior and I said I am not vacuuming now. I also told him if this is how you treat customers I will not be back. He screamed at me Don't come back. -This has been my go to place for vacuuming as its in my neighborhood. This review is for the maintenance side of this business; the gas side runs well enough. I've been using this station for nearly 10 years as it's my closest one. Many reviewers here have praised Youbert, the very trustworthy and hardworking owner/head mechanic. And yes, Youburt was the best. Unfortunately, Youbert has SOLD the business as of spring 2017 and it has a new owner I find untrustworthy. I went in to buy a quart of oil and he tried to scare me about my tires, saying they were really bald and "very very dangerous." And conveniently he was having a special on four tires right then. My spidey sense went off and I took my car to two different mechanics, both of whom said "No" when I asked if I needed to replace my tires. They both said, independently, that my tires are fine and should be so for several more years. Anyone who would lie like that is dishonest in my view. He will not be getting my business. read more

I'm writing in regards to the car wash at this location. I hesitated writing this but the encounter I had, prompted me to write. I went in at 7:20am because I had been there over the weekend and there was a huge car line up. After I had paid I drove forward into the wash as the green light was lit, when it turned red I stopped. However on the car wash columns the BACK UP lights was illuminated, so... I backed up. Nothing happened so I drove forward and backwards 2-3 times but the machine had stopped giving me prompts. I drove out of the wash and was going to continue on to work and just forget about it, but I thought maybe I should go see if I could get a credit/refund from the station attendant. So I swung around to the front and parked in front of a empty pump. I went inside the small convenience store where I found 2 gentlemen. One of them was the gas station attendant wearing his chevron polo, and the other was a older that middle age Caucasian man in street clothes with glasses. As soon as I went in both men knew what had happened, they had been watching on the security cameras. I said sorry I just drove through car wash but it never worked. Instead of offering for me to go again or a refund they both immediately were on the defensive. Saying I had screwed up and drove forward and backward too many times. I said fine but that's $11 for something that never worked and that the BACK UP light was illuminated which is why I had backed up. The Attendant exclaimed that he would have to pay out of pocket to refund my money, Chevron will not. He then said I have a witness here to what you did, and he pointed to the other man. The other man said you drove back and forth too many times and reset the sensor, shaking his head dismissively. I said the BACK UP light was on which is why I did that. At this point the Gas Station attendant walked out. The man said well the BACK UP light being on was not evident in the video. You have to stop when the red light comes on. I said I did but the BACK UP lights were on. At this point I got very irritated and said "are you 2 guys just deciding to be assholes today?" The man smugly said have a nice day. I walked out to get in my car to leave and the Gas station attendant waived me to go in the wash again. I met him where the pay machine was and he said I could go in and use the wash again. I said I don't want you to have to pay for this out of pocket and I would call Chevron or come back and pay him the $11. I also said the BACK UP light was on and he said I know I saw it in the video. I said that man in there should not have been interfering in our exchange. ...and here's the kicker...the attendant says, he's a part owner of this location! I was baffled. This man was so unhelpful and was totally fine taking my $11 and not in any way shape or form offering me a refund. They charge almost $4 a gallon for 87 grade gasoline at this location...but evidently refunding someone $11 was not the morally correct thing to do. I drove into the wash, stopped this time and ignored the BACKUP lights. The machine went it's course and when it was entering into the drying only cycle and told me to drive forward the water nozzles continued to spray my car. Bottom line, the owners of this shop should service the car wash machine. Also, when a customer comes in after not getting services rendered for an amount paid they should be able to offer a refund. Was I wrong in calling them assholes? Probably. However, they were not being super helpful and instead were pretty ok with trying to make me feel like a idiot and a screw up. I'm giving 2 stars because in the end the attendant was helpful...however the co-owners actions have made it so I will never return to this gas station. read more

The people who run this gas station are cheap and rude to customers. California law requires that gas stations provide air and water FREE to customers who purchase gas. This gas station has decided that they only have to do it if you purchase a minimum of $10 worth of gas. First of all, this is not true. There is no minimum. You could purchase ten cents worth of gas and they would have to turn the air and water machine on for you. Second, law or no law, it's just the right thing to do to provide air and water. It's a safety issue. I went to this gas station today, not needing gas but needing air in my tires. I didn't have any change so I went in the store to purchase a beverage and ask the attendant to turn on the air. I figured since I was making a purchase, he would turn the air on for me. He refused, saying that I had to buy gas specifically. He was very rude to me and went off on a tangent about people thinking they can get free air and water. I told him I purchase gas there all the time, but I didn't happen to need gas right then and I just didn't have any quarters for the machine. He told me he would only turn it on for me if I pre-paid for gas. I said, "Ok I guess I won't be getting gas here anymore." He shouted back " I don't care weather you come here or not." That gas station attendant ran off a customer who spends $100 a week at that location, over .25 cents worth of air. I have never had a gas station refuse to turn on the air after I made a purchase, and I have certainly never had a gas station attendant speak to me in the way this man did. He has lost my family's business and I hope that at least one person sees this and decides to take their business elsewhere. read more

Stopped by this station to get gas this afternoon. There is enough space to go around right in front of the garage if the pumps are full and you need to go around, but in this case there was a large boat that was being towed in the way, which made it very inconvenient for all customers. So, i waited and after the pump came open, i started the pump. A person who works there came out and i mentioned to him that it was pretty inconvenient and it might be better for his business and more convenient for his customers to move the boat so people can get to his pumps more easily. His response was "you should just back up". I said to him "don't you think it would make it easier for your customers?" and his response was " I don't need customers like you" and of course said it loud enough for everyone to hear. I said "you are providing great customer service and you probably shouldn't be so rude to customers" and once again he said "I don't need customers like you". I instantly took the nozzle out of my tank and left the premises. I will NEVER do business with this station again and if one person reading this passes this station and boycotts it, it will be worth it. In a customer service industry where you make your money by providing gas and auto repairs, you would hope that the employees realize that word of mouth for repairs are the best way to acquire new customers. I paid in cash in the mini-store for a carwash and then inputted the code at the machine at the entrance to the carwash. It showed a lower type of carwash than what I'd paid for, so I walked over to the mini-store to ask for help straightening that out. He walked over with me, inputted the code and said for my to go in. I asked to see the receipt that would show what type of carwash I was getting and he refused - and got mad at me. I asked him to step back since he wasn't wearing a mask and he turned and left. I went back to the store with him and pointed out it had a sign requiring masks. He got really mad and started yelling to get out, get out. I was able to start videoing at the end of his tirade. Youbert and his team are amazing! My husband and I have been going to Youbert for over 10 years. He is someone I can trust; he treats us like family. This is a place where I can take my car and not worry that they are giving me the run around, or worry that they will overcharge or take advantage of me. I trust them 100%! I take my car here for everything, no matter what the issue and they are always there to help, whether it be smog, tires or any kind of car issue. Today I went to wash my car, car wash did not work... Had to pull out with soapy car. I then went to get assistance and approached an older gentlemen who referred me to a younger gentleman... He started by lecturing me on what I did wrong yet, I have gone to that car wash for years!!! I stated should I go through it again, his response was condescending unprofessional and down right sexist, he stated I had attitude, and he was not going to help me even though I paid.. I asked him why are u being so rude and angry.. that infuriated him even more, he then used profane language and I personally insulted me.. Very bizarre customer service. My 1994 Toyota 4Runner needed to Smog Check so I decided to try Youbert and his staff. Turned into a disaster when they told me my Catalytic converter was not "Pre-OBDII" When in fact I knew It was and the 4Runner had been smoged 2 years earlier at the Toyota Dealership with the very same catalytic converter. Of course this raised a huge Red flag! They were looking to sell me a converter and of course I would have to pay for the Re-test!!!! I have found none better. Women who need to go into services stations are nervous that is not the case here. Hubert treats every women like she is his mother. The older man who works the morning shift (10/31/2016) is a dick. Came in this morning to use the air as all four of my tires were low. I asked him to turn the air on and he responds with "we don't have a button to turn it on". That's odd, I've come in months before and used the air machine and the younger dude who works there was able to turn it on. Anyways, I decided to get gas and shove the "paying customer free air" in his face. He turned it on. He lied to me he just wanted me to purchase gas, which was pretty douchey. I average a few hundred dollars in gas purchases at this gas station a month you think air wouldn't be a problem. Lawrence is a crooked mechanic at this Chevron. Estimate was $440 to change a serpentine belt on a 22yo Chrysler. If you have never done a belt before they cost $30-50 parts and about one hour labor max. We told him not to do any work until we came down. We showed up with a tow truck and my vehicle was on the rack. He wanted $50 for diagnosis to bring the car down. I had to persuade him NICELY to get it off the rack. Additionally he claimed to pre-order parts when we told him not to. And had the audacity to tell me never to come again ... AS IF !!! The tow truck driver said he pulls cars from that station all the time. Learn from my mistake. By the way this job cost me $213 at competitor which is parts and about 1 hour labor. read more

Watch your receipt! I punched in my Safeway number and the screen said I had $.20 per gallon discount. I was charged full price. Then it said if you buy 8 gallons or more the premium car wash is $7. It charged me $9. When I went in to complain, the manager said no you get the $ 11 wash for $9. I told him that's not the button I chose which said $7. He did refund to me the $2 difference but would not honor the $.20 which would have been another 2+ dollars. I won't be buying gas here again and I will be calling Safeway to complain. read more

My recent experience with the garage is poor. They diagnosed my car as having rear-suspension problems to the degree that they couldn't set the alignment, the original reason I brought the car in. I was told that the car needed new control arms etc. They quoted me an additional $300 to fix the problem Brought the car to a mechanic who specializes in suspension - he told me there was nothing wrong with the control arms and then aligned the wheels. I now doubt either the skill level of the Chevron mechanics (@ Meridian Chevron) and/or their integrity. The prior owner, Youbert, was a fabulous mechanic as well as being honest. I am disappointed in the current owner/mechanics. read more

Do not go here! We have gone here in the past for smog checks, basic auto stuff, etc... but no more. The last time we came for what we thought was going to be a simple fix. I would not mind the jump in the quote if they actually fixed my car, but they made it worse. They messed up the electrical in the driver's side window and instead of telling us about it they drilled a block of wood inside the door so the window doesn't move. When putting the plastic covering back on from underneath they used zip ties and not very well. Now it drags when the car is moving. My car doesn't work again and it has been less than six months. read more
