Came here today to get Mrs. Texas' van inspected. The staff here was very friendly and very proficient. The mechanic who inspected the van was very professional and courteous. I was in and out within fifteen minutes and this included and extra bonus as I got a chip in the windshield repaired during the inspection. They've got a system in place for vehicle inspections that keeps me coming back twice a year (once per car). It's a breeze to park, step inside to pay, and be out within 30 minutes. Most times, it's only taken about 15 minutes. They even have sausage wraps in the chafing dish for about $1.50, which I like to munch on while I wait. There's a covered picnic area between the gas station and the garage for waiting. I did take off a star for the reason that they expect you to leave your keys and insurance paperwork on the seat. I prefer not to leave the keys sitting inside my unlocked car in the parking lot. read more

We took our car to a local dealership for a vehicle inspection, we were sitting in the driveway waiting to pull into the building when they called us and said their inspection machine just broke down. They Recommended Lindell's if we wanted it done soon and we took their great advice, the inspection and total wait time wasn't more 20 minutes, I barely had time to check out all the taxidermy on the walls in their convenience store, I may have to go back and get one of their cool $7.00 ball caps. read more

I have been going here for three years in a row to get my inspection sticker. Corner of I35 access road and Old Settler's. It was right across Springhill Suites where we were living when we first arrived to ATX. They are pretty face, straight forward. You pay inside, wait, done. Last time I came it was during my lunch hour. It took up my whole time but there was quite a bit of folks waiting. This year I came on 12/31/13 so I figured it would be packed and it was busy but not booming. The did the car pretty quickly but then parked it in front of the store and left it there...keys and all. Nobody said a thing to any of us that were waiting, I just happened to notice it was parked in between a candy crush game! what the .... glad lots of honest folks in "the Rock"...but what if there weren't? someone could have had a free car! I finally asked a guy in coveralls if my car was done or...? was worried about it passing b/c the back of my car has a dent (from valet parking at the Stephen F Austin hotel valet parking next door to Roaring Fork downtown, thanks a lot guys for ruining a poor college kid's car!) and this dent is forcing my back tail light to protrude slightly BUT... everything luckily still works. and I passed. I would only fail this place a star because I saw that same tall guy in coveralls get off a nice suburban, walk right over to this young mother with her baby in a carrier, explain everything to her and left the car door open for her. HEY! why didnt I get that treatment?? not cool. I think I only had that the first year, and I was maybe a week into being here and I needed that at that time. They helped me fix a truck that hadn't been reliable for over five years. They got it up and running quickly. A few weeks later, the truck wouldn't start yet again, and it melted a set of jumper cables. I had it towed to Lindell's and they were finally able to confirm the alternator was getting stuck and was the reason the truck had eaten (not chargeable) batteries so many times. I was overjoyed because I was given next week by another car dealership and a month by a collision company and in a blink of an eye my car was repaired. Never again. Wish I had never been recommended to get my inspection done here. They were completely rude to me, from beginning to end. I've had my car for four years. Its always passed inspection. This guy fails me saying my tint is too dark. It's stock tint that came on the car and has never failed. The guys at the register taking my money was rude to me. Then I get failed. I'be had my car inspection done at this station for several years. They do a great job. But this year with COVID 19 I was shocked to see my car inspected and driven by someone who did not wear a mask nor gloves. They were in my car touching things and breathing. It was most upsetting. read more

I came in for an oil change and planned to pay it off with my GM rewards but, the website system was down. The phone customer service could not do anything on their side and gave me the only option to pay out of pocket and save my GM points for another visit. I got my inspection done here about a week ago. First time around I failed because I just got my car back from the shop and the onboard computer was not ready. They told me to drive it for a few days and bring it back which I did and it passed. Despite the hiccup, they are fast, and cheap. I paid $18 and some change. Will probably be using these guys again in the future. read more

Keith is awesome! We have 4 vehicles in our family including a 2000 Tundra. Unfortunately before Christmas we dropped off our the Tundra at another shop to have the power steering fixed and boy did we learn our lesson. We've had issue after issue. I have four cars in my family and I would not trust any other automotive repair shop in the area to work on them. They are honest and they will not give you the run around on the repair. They are pretty down to earth, country folks but I consider that a plus not a minus. I have been going to Keith Lindell for the last fifteen years and he came recommended by my dad who used him for all of their vehicle repairs and maintenance for at least ten years before that. Keith is beyond honest and has always helped us when we've been in a cash crunch (which is almost always when we've need car repairs.) He'll tell us what has to be repaired and what we can wait to repair or don't need to bother repairing. We've taken them Cheveys (sp???), Isuzus, Mazdas and Nissans and they've been able to work on all of them. I recommend Lindell to all of our friends and family and I highly recommend if you're looking for a new mechanic, to give them a try. read more

At first I really liked this shop. I had had a bad experience with my previous mechanic and was just looking for an honest mechanic. It all went badly when i took in my wife's Chevy Traverse in for AC issues. I am going to break this down into a timeline because this car went through three shops Lindell and than two others that they suggested I take it to. Timeline: At their suggestion i went from Lindell to a dealership because the mechanic said the data in the computer wasn't making sense. Dealership gave me a short list of issues so I took it back to Lindell because I did not want to pay the dealership prices. One item on the list was transmission work which Lindell pointed me to someone else. The day I got it back from the tranmission place it died. The obvious thought was to go back to the transmission place but this was not a transmission issue from what I could tell. So back to Lindell to get some answers at least that was what I had hoped. This is where the Lindell review really starts: Lindell said the car was low on oil but that they put oil in and it was fine. Now I feel like this low oil issue is really on the dealer although i can't prove it. They diagnosed an oil leak but let me take the car out of there three courts low on oil? They charged me 200 dollars for that diagnosis surely they could have mentioned the oil leak had left the car low on oil. The mechanic at Lindell put oil in the car and said it was running fine. Not only that but he did not see any evidence of an oil leak (again the above dealership I won't use again). He said it was a little loud but assured me it was fine. A few hours later the car was dead again (not out of oil, for the record just dead). I called Lindell, hoping to get it back into the shop for some answers what I got instead was a large amount of attitude from the mechanic. Telling me that he had other cars to work on and that he could not spend all his time on my car. I got off the phone with him and took it somewhere else. It was hugely disappointing and unprofessional. Not to mention I should have gotten the money back for their diagnosis that the car was fine when it obviously wasn't. I guess the search for a decent, honest mechanic does not end at Lindell. read more

These are the most honest mechanics I have ever come across. I will hear from an oil change mechanic that I need hundreds of dollars in repairs. Then, bring my car to them and they will tell me there is actually no problem and they do this without even charging me. I cannot say enough about these guys - there is no better. read more

Keith did some muffler work for me, I love this guy; quickly diagnoses the problem, fixes it within a reasonable time frame, doesn't charge an arm and a leg. How rare is that! So this guy does a lot of work in a day so don't expect to wait on your car, just plan on leaving it with him and things will be good. I got there on a lunch break and was concerned it looked busy. I paid for an emissions test, sat down for about 15 minutes and that was it--all done. Very professional, very fast. So I came here last year to get my car inspected & passed... Came back today & the old man that works the register was pretty rude as he was last time but I didn't pay it any mind. So they told me to leave my ins & keys on my passenger seat come to find out my ins expired so as the guy was coming to my car I told him what was going on & he said to get a picture of my current ins & it would be no problem so I did that & showed it to him. He goes gets my car & tells me I failed because I need new windshield wipers by the way which are fine & working & he said "they may be working but you need new ones" then he tells me my tint is too dark it's 22% but needs to be 25% or higher. I came here last year w everything the same especially my tint & I passed, my tint was in my car when I got it from the dealership... I will no longer be coming here & I don't recommend it. Their new workers are very rude & obviously will nitpick just so they don't pass your car... If I had the choice to give them a negative star I would!! read more
