    Weak and a rip off.

This place used to be a great place, but i think its been bought out. The new owners don't seem to have the same pride for their deli as before. I stopped in to grab a sandwich and what a joke. $12 bucks for a roast beef sandwich. NEVER AGAIN.

Clean bathrooms, good gas pumps with prices consistent with area, looking for gift ideas? This place has many for mountain and western themes. Snacks, beverages and did I mention clean bathrooms?

they are selling fake products when asked for a return they made us grab a different fake one instead of giving me my money they wouldnt give us a different one instead unless we had our receipt which when we bought it we werent given the choice to have a receipt the guy grabed it and threw it away.

Seems like a very nice mini Mart, gift shop, food stop. Gas is way overpriced. Restroom is very clean. Convenient to highway 50. Cool little photo stop at the saloon next door. Some funky looking hats.

$9.99 for this turkey sandwich. Kind of a rip off 3 people standing behind the counter with 2 registers. but no one making sandwiches at "the deli"

Where can you stop for a Bio Break, fill your gas tank, and buy anything from ice to a purse with a concealed gun pocket (I don't need one and I hope you don't as well)? The store has a large variety of things to buy. It has the normal food and drink convenient store items you would expect to find. It also carries some sporting goods, clothing, wood artwork and souvenirs. The assortment is surprising and not expected from a roadside store. The store and bathroom are clean. I like to stop and stretch my legs since the location is 45 Miles to the Nevada Stateline and about 60 Miles to Sacramento. The Parking Lot is large and can accommodate vehicles with trailers. The store is right off of Highway 50 making it easy to find and visit. Tip: You may want to add the store to your GPS before your trip. Celluar coverage is spotty up in the mountains.

Every time we head to the rubicon trail, we always stop to fill up our gas tank. Freshpond Trading Post is awesome because: 1. Easy access if you have a huge trailer with a Jeep like me. 2. Has paper towels at the pump 3. Very convenient location, right off highway 50 4. Very clean bathroom with paper towels and toilet paper 5. Very friendly and helpful store clerks with great attitude 6. Large size parking lot- such a perfect place to meet up people 7. Has diesel fuel 8. Decent grocery selection and local unique gifts 9. You can pump gas even when the store is closed at night. 10. Local people work here 11. The store is clean and organized 12. There is a fun photo booth- if I remember correctly- the theme was a jail house. The gas price is slightly higher than other places but I'm very impressed every thing that this place can offer. Definitely recommend to everyone! Stop by, you won't regret it!

Great little gas station and mini mart…read more We were on our way to Hell Hole Reservoir. Stopped here to use the bathroom because I'm particular about where I pee. I'm not one to just pull over to the side of the road and pee in the bushes. I don't like to pee outside. I don't even pee in the ocean. I'm particular where I pee. This place is way up in the mountains, and as it turned out, exactly where you need a bathroom to be if you had multiple cups of coffee before you left Sacramento, as I had done. So happy to discover this gas station does have a public restroom. It's in a small building separate from the mini mart. It was clean and tidy, qualities we all appreciate in a public restroom. After taking care of business and washing my hands I popped into the Mini Mart to spend some money. I didn't actually need anything, I had snacks in the car. But when I stop at a little mom and pop operation like this I always try to spend some cash. I want this place to still be in business next time I'm passing through. The Mini Mart has mad snacks! Including many of my favorites, like Chili Cheese Fritos, Chicharrones, Trail Mix, Chex Mix and Pretzels. They had about ten or fifteen different kinds of Sunflower Seeds. Some weird ass flavored ones too. For example: Taco Supreme flavor, Zesty Ranch flavor, Dill Pickle favor, Jacked Pepper flavor, Takis Fuego Flavor, and BBQ flavor. For a hot minute I considered trying one of those bizarro flavors. I eventually decided to just get a bag of regular old David Original Jumbo seeds. My same old, same old. Maybe someday I'll try one of those exotic flavors. But probably not. Oh, and I love that the self service soda fountain featured Pepsi products, Love me a Pepsi with my Sunflower Seeds. In fact, there's a veritable plethora of drink options in this Mini Mart. In addition to the self serve soda fountain, there's also a slushie-type machine with two flavors (red and blue). They even have one of those push button automated Espresso machines. The Mini Mart is stocked to serve the local community as well as travellers passing through. Shelves were stocked with everything from pet food to BBQ supplies. You need Folgers Coffee, French's Mustard, Del Monte Ketchup? Top Ramen, Campbell's Soup, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese? Toilet Paper, Motor Oil, Insect Repellant? You need a Gas Can? You can find it all here at the Forresthill Valero Mini Mart. And I was impressed that the price of gas here wasn't that much higher than it was in Sacramento. So, yeah, I'm a big fan of Foresthill Valero. I especially appreciate that they provide a public restroom. I was happy show my appreciation by spending a few bucks Mikey C says: Forresthill Valero, 5 Stars all damn day!

Loaded up the car and SOOOOOMEone (not me, I didn't drive) forgot to check the gas tank. We were driving on less than a quarter tank and by the time we got to this area our low fuel light came on. Worried that we'd run out of fuel, we headed towards Kirkwood since we assumed the resort would have some, but we saw this place and stopped inside asking where the nearest gas was. We didn't see the pump since we parked on the other side of the building. They only offer regular unleaded, so if you need diesel fuel, you're SOL here. Filled up with enough gas to get us to the campground and back home. It was expensive, but no more so than we expected. Actually cheaper than we expected since we know that gas in the boonies would be a ripoff. Still, the convenience of having the option to get gas out there was sort of a lifesaver. Note: Amazingly, there are seasons out here (snow and not snow), so the area isn't always a barren snowy wilderness. During the summer, it actually turns into a barren non-snowy wilderness.
