It's a gas station with a repair facility and 24 hour gasoline. Prices are about 10-20 cents a gallon more than I pay for Chevron at my local Los Angeles Chevron but this is a safer nicer area to pump gas. It feels good and relaxing to pump here. Today the cheapest regular was $5.00 a gallon. Was speaking to a woman who used to come here and now pumps her new BMW at Costco. She says it's about 40 to 50 cents less at Costco and her dad told her Costco is okay for gas. Maybe I will switch to Costco? That sounds like big savings. Is Costco safe gasoline? read more

Had a tire go flat on me while driving and this Chevron was immediately off the exit. The mechanic on duty, Joe, was amazingly helpful and had the tire off and patched, with me on my way inside of 20 minutes. This was during a high traffic time of day as well. If it were possible to leave zero stars I would. Towed my car there Saturday - shop was closed which is understandable, all shops close early on Saturday's. Monday morning the mechanic calls and he's a complete jerk, as I explained the issue his responses we're "okay okay okay and?". He explained the $150 diagnosis fee- okay fine no problem. I asked to place him on hold while I spoke to my husband, I muted my phone while I talked to my husband. I hear the mechanic say "I don't have time for this shit" and hung up. I had a flat tire on my motorcycle and all I asked if someone can look at my tire if the valve stem was damaged or not. Valve stems are all the same from motorcycle to car. Joe who didn't even care to look or reply turned towards me and said we don't work on motorcycles. I understand and wasn't asking for you to work on a motorcycle. Just look at the tire. My car didn't pass the smog test so I called the DMV gave me the number to call the state for help. They said to take it to a star service station. All I needed at the time was a smog fix. Instead I end up with no heater and a new radiator. There was nothing wrong with the radiator or the heater. They charged the state $900 and me over $700. Talk about the old woman alone bs. Wow. Towed my car to their shop after the failure of the alternator. They tried to charge me $100 just to look at my car and I had to call them back to see what was going on with my car after they told me they would call me back. I called them 3 and a 1/2 hours after they initially told me they would re-charge my battery which only took them one hour to do. And they tried to charge me $40 just to charge my battery. So basically it would've cost me $140 just to look at my car... I told the guy that I would tow my car to a different place and he immediately got defensive and hung up the phone on me. This shop I know only does it for the money. It's too obvious. When I took him my car too at first those guys just looked at me and didn't even ask for anything from me. This was the worst experience ever!!! Let me start!!! 2 weeks ago I went to get my back brake pads replaced and they try to charge me 864.00 I went to a 76 stastion in Newport Beach and got both front and back brake pads put on plus 4 new tires for 700.00!! Then went back only by mistake for a smog check again the guy was the biggest jerk!!! Not only not telling me when I show with my coupon that I was at the wrong Chevron!!! But still took my car back and saw the check eingine light was on and did not discuss the issue with me before he took my car and 5 min later charges me 58.00 and said he wanted another 200.00 to figure out the problem!!!stay away from this place they are theives!!! read more

Gas with a car wash. Theyll even fill up your tank for you! Basic car wash w/ vacuum starts a $12.99. Sweet! So convenient.

This place was just a typical service station/ gas station with a small convenience store. We just made a quick stop to use the restroom and get some snacks, so my review doesn't cover the service station. I pulled in and asked one of the auto mechanic guys (Caucasian and scruffy) if he had time to fix a tire that had a nail in it. He said yes and started working on the tire. He had minimal to say and answered any questions I had with short answers and minimal eye contact. Once he was done, I asked if there was a charge for taking out the nail (based on my previous experiences, a lot of auto mechanics did this service for free or for a small tip) but this guy was so taken back by my question, he started spew ting a series of sarcastic politically toned statements and continued harassing me by asking me where I came from and how we need a wall to keep people out of this country and bla bla bla...I was hoping the nice cashier, Julian would find the courage to shut this racist bigot up but it seemed like he was used to this guys political rants, so I tried my best to ignore the guy and he just smiled as I paid $20 for the service and walked out. Zero stars for this place. Took my 2008 Passat here for an oil change and smog. Guy that looks like Jack Nicholson was super rude. Initially he was very put out when I asked how much the oil change was. I could tell he was either hating his job or mad about something. After he put the car up on the rack and drained the oil he realized he doesn't have an oil filter for it. Im very understanding when things don't go right. But when I asked him nicely about how much longer he just says "I don't know". I'm left sitting on a park bench outside the gas station waiting in the cold for someone to deliver the filter. I ask "jack" how long again and I explain I just need to let my wife know as we need to pick up the kid at school. He says "I don't know" again and now seams pissed at me. We then exchanged heated words in the store when I told him he has bad customer service skills and then he tells me he doesn't care. I'll never come back here again. read more

The service station... Yikes. First of all don't make the same mistake I did and pull into the garage and run the risk of getinht yelled at. "You need to pull out of MY garage" said one guy (after I was instructed to by the man in the convenience store). When i pulled around to the side of the building, I explained to someone who was much friendlier that my coolant level was low and I asked if they could add more. They tried to convince me that it may or may not be a circulation problem and wanted to charge me $65 and 30 mins of my time to get a diagnostic. Not sure if that's standard for any maintenance station... Anyways, I literally took the chance of my car exploding, went to Home Depot bought coolant (after double checking the manual) and problem solved! Never underestimate the power of reading through your owners manual as you can diagnose a lot of problems yourself and avoid your wallet getting hit pretty hard. 1 star because that man that helped me was pretty nice about the whole thing. read more

This is in response to Cheryl's post. I was standing behind this woman while she was being checked out after her vehicle failed the smog test. Joe the mechanic was very patient and polite in explaining her failure. She was very obviously miffed that her car failed and was very rude and impatient with the staff. As she started to leave she said under her breath that she'd never come back here again. At this point Joe turned around asked her why she said that, and she replied "never mind!". He further inquired as to why she was angry, if it was that they wouldn't accept her coupon from ANOTHER smog station? She hadn't shown this coupon to Joe prior to the inspection. She said "No!!". Then he asked her if she was angry that her car failed the smog inspection and could he somehow help her out. Again she replied "No!!" Joe then asked well, what is the problem? and She snapped "Never mind, you can read on Yelp!!!" and stormed out of the station. I asked Joe what was that about and he informed me that she was still angry because he recommended extensive work for her rear brake because only one pad had worn out indicating that there was a hydraulic failure, which meant replace the calipers. He also said that she needed new rotors because they were worn beyond the specification limit for minimum thickness. He said the bill was unusually high because she needed so many parts and he quoted price for Mercedes parts, which were ironically, competitive. She declined the repair, stating that she hadn't the funds to pay and would Joe "just put pads" on it. Joe declined, informing her of the consequences of not performing the work properly, ending up in premature brake failure, and potential risk to herself and those motoring around her. She never said that the price was too high, only that she can't afford it. Seem that she must have had a chip on her shoulder when she came in, and the question here is..... if she had such a bad experience with respect to her brake inspection, and didn't trust Joe, why would she come back to have a smog test? Joe is an ASE Master Technician and has been working at this station for over 20 years. How could someone stay in business for so long if he had been unscrupulous or dishonest in his dealings. It seems to me the unscrupulous people were likely the ones who performed her brake repair and didn't give her the service that was necessary to prevent similar braking problems like she already had. Kudos to Joe for sticking to his guns and not folding to this nasty woman's pressure to perform insufficient brake service, even though it meant that he would not see the profit from the job, and for keeping his cool while trying to resolve this tough (on her part) customer relations issue. It's a shame that people just jump on Yelp and denigrate someone's good reputation just because they didn't get their way. Shame on Cheryl, I witnessed the whole thing, and I would advise all the people who read Yelp to ignore this angry old woman's rant, not only in respect to the Chevron Station, but to anyone else she has pulled this vengeful crap on. I find it impossible to take her serioiusly. Good Luck to Chevron,. keep up the good work. p.s. In regard to her statement that he wanted to charge her $200 to figure out her problem (actually it was the car's problem, nobody could figure out her problem!) Joe recommended that she take it to her regular mechanic, but if she would like, he could diagnose the problem for $125, not $200, which is in line with a lot of repair facilities. There's always two sides to every story as many of you well know. Landon Hill called our facility a little before 4pm and inquired about a smog check and an oil change, to which I replied yes. But can you do it NOW? I replied yes, right away. I could tell by his pushy attitude on the phone that he was already irked about something, but I chalked it up to life in the big city. He arrived about fifteen minutes later at which time I wrote up an order for service. He seemed overly suspicious about the price of the smog check and the oil change, even though I had given him a detailed estimate for both services which included itemized costs for the smog inspection, certification, oil, filter, labor, and hazardous waste fee. He still pushed to have the exact amount of each service individually, so I verbally quoted the price of each item as I pointed them out to him on the estimate, but that wasn't enough and he further insisted on more itemization, so grabbed my calculator and added the costs involved in the oil change service. Keep in mind that all the following incidents further exacerbated the problem, being the amount of time the service would take. I was not irritated and he mistook my being in a hurry due to the lateness of the day for that. I try to close our shop each day at 5, never happens though, as I always stay late to help, especially those in emergency situations such as flat tires, etc. However, this was not an emergency situation. Services like the ones Landon requested are easily scheduled for his convenience, even though he neglected to do so. In spite of no appointment, I took his vehicle in at the last possible moment. Hard lesson learned, as it turned out, after I performed the smog inspection and put the vehicle on the hoist, and began the oil change service. I typically service quite a lot of VW vehicle including Passats like Landon's, however this particular year and engine required a cartridge style oil filter which I did not have in stock. I immediately called my supplier and rush ordered a filter for his car, and informed Landon of the situation. By this time Landon had become visibly irritated, talking on the cell phone to his wife, apparently there was some heated discussion as to who was going to pick up their child and he kept insisting on an "ETA". I told him that I rush ordered his filter and it would be here a.s.a.p. and would get him on his way quickly. He told me he was trying to figure out if he needed to have his wife pick up their child and I replied that he probably should have her do so because I didn't know exactly how long it would take. He then said "WHAT ABOUT THE SMOG TEST?" I informed him that I had already completed that service and as soon as the filter arrived, I only had to install the filter and oil and he'd be on his way. It wasn't enough, apparently, and he insisted that I call the delivery person to ask him how long it would take, even though I had just ordered the part a few minutes earlier. I told Landon that I didn't have the phone number of the driver, only the dispatcher, and even so, people aren't supposed to use their cell phones while driving anyway. In a sarcastic tone, he said "Oh, I'm sure you don't use YOUR cell phone while driving, huh?" I replied that, actually, I didn't, and of course he questioned my veracity. One thing I really hate is being called a liar, especially by someone I'm doing my very best to help. At this point I could tell all was lost with respect to this guy, and as he became more agitated , raising his voice, and talking over me, I told him I was done. Apparently he wasn't, as he kept ranting and raving about the this being the WORST service he'd ever received. I told him he was about the worst customer I ever had, so I guess the feeling was mutual. I guess it all boils down to the fact that Landon hadn't planned ahead and tried to cram too many things to get done inside an hour, as it turns out he was supposed to have picked up his child by 5. Had he informed of this prior to starting, I would have suggested that he only have the smog inspection done as it would only take about 20 minutes and leave responsible time for him to pick up his child. Now I understand what was bothering Landon, as some of you parents may know, if you pick up your child late, you get whacked with a late fee. When he said "You don't care about my problems!" I told him he was right, I only cared about getting his vehicle completed in a reasonable time frame, which by the way, was completed before 5, so all this hooting, hollering, and stamping his feet was unnecessary. Seems to me to be just an example of poor planning and bad parenting. After all, who puts their oil change of their car ahead of their child. As far as looking like Jack Nicholson, thanks!
