Asked the cashier if he can turn the air on and told him if there was anyone that can help me. He said to try to ask the guys in the shop. I saw this older & wiser man. His name was Mike. He said bring ur car on this side and I'll help you. He checked my air and filled them up. He wasn't the happiest man. I tried making conversation. Asked if he had grandkids and he told me..."No! I don't even have a girlfriend and I don't need one and I don't want one." He didn't ask for a tip. I ran out of cash. Shoot.... went back to the cashier and bought something and got some cash back. Came back to Mike and said, "It really means a lot to me that you were willing to help me. Here is a small tip for you." He didn't say much, but he was kind enough to help me... I was there to put a little less than 1 gallon of gas before returning the rental car. I remember the charge was $3 something since it required me to walk into the store to get receipt so I just drove off since it was raining at that time. I was getting gas with my two pups in my car. One of them locked the car from the inside. My keys and phone were inside. I tried everything to get inside. I was in a panic because it was warm out. I went to the service center and they were closed. Fernando originally said he couldn't help I would have to call AAA. I went back to my car in tears at this point.... Five mins later he walks up to my car and says they normally don't unlock doors but he could see I was in a panic. He worked on it for thirty mins trying everything and finally got the door open! He was incredibly kind, patient and so helpful! I don't know what I would have done without his help. Even though I'm sure he wanted to go home for the day he stayed to help me. Came here previously for a smog check. They said they ran the test but the result was NOT READY. They told me to drive the car for a few miles and come back. When I went back, they said they will charge me again for the smog check test. Turns out they have a problem with their smog check machine as it does not interface to older cars. They should not be charging customers for it. read more

Mobil overall is a fairly high priced gas station and I am not convinced the quality is worth the price. It's often priced higher than even the higher end gas stations in the area. This one is conveniently located on the corner of el toro and moulton which is why I come here every once in a while. The convenient store is fairly limited and the customer service isn't the greatest. Often times when I come, like today, I can't go inside the store because the employee locked it up and there is no sign to show when they will return. I often pay inside as I worry about theft/fraud at the gas pumps. Overall, if you are in need of gas it's convenient but if you can wait it out then probably go elsewhere! read more

This place is horrible. I needed to fix a flat so they charged me $20 for it. I ran to the bathroom and while here the man told my kids that the tire is hard to take off so if he breaks it it's not his fault. When I got back I told him why would you give that choice to kids but then he got the tire off. 2 weeks later it came out. I went to tell them and they said too bad it's not under warranty. We live in Laguna Woods Village and I have had various repair & test situations over our 6 years here, from smog check to catalytic, starter, refrigeration and misc on our 2004 Nissan 4dr truck. Mike has been precise in his diagnosis, accurate in his estimates, adding caveats if he cannot determine the totality of the problem until he takes a few things apart. For example, we had a loss of A/C and he said let's try "this" first and see, then added more freon. Problem continued, so he said it would be better to add more as needed because the complete repair would be rather costly. Eventually the leak resulted in almost immediate freon loss & was repaired. Point being, that he would go out of his way to minimize your cost if possible, always explaining what was involved. He is a great mechanic and has become a friend as well. Ned B read more

Please explain to me how a person can plan a flat tire and make an appointment! Then she asked how much for a replacement tire - $287! Seriously she drives a Buick!! Ridiculous! This is by Far the WORST MECHANIC SHOP with the most DISRESPECTFUL manager who goes by the name "Mike". I took my Jaguar 2007 to his shop to fix the leak in my engine coolant. One week after leaving my car at his shop, he supposedly had "fixed" the coolant leak. To my surprise, I took my car back after it was done, the ENGINE light was on. So I went back to tell him why my engine light is on and that my coolant alarm is still on, stating there's a leak again. His response was "why would you buy such an old and expensive car. You shouldn't buy this type of car, obviously it's going to have problems. I fixed what I could and that's all I will do." I was taken aback by his disrespectful, and condescending comments. First off, no mechanic or anyone has a right to tell their customers "why would you buy an old and broken car." Although, my car ONLY had a coolant leakage. Then, to top it off, he tells his coworkers to not touch the car and that he won't fix it. I walked out extremely disappointed with this "MANAGERS" behavior towards his CUSTOMER. So I gave it another week, waited to see if my engine light turns off and coolant stops leaking. Turns out it became worse. So I decided to give it a second try and take it back to MIKE and have him fix what he apparently made worse. Once again, I was faced with an aggressive, condescending and disrespectful mechanic/MANAGER. MIKE does NOT know how to speak professionally and RESPECTFULLY with his customers. Why is he even the manager ? How is this place even being operated? He told me to leave the premises and that he wouldn't fix my car whatsoever. I am EXTREMELY frustrated at this Mobil gas stations mechanic shop. Disappointed, would be an understatement. I only had a coolant leak, now I'm facing a continued leaks and engine issues where the car has a hard time starting! People take their cars to mechanics so they can fix the issue, not rip people off their money and break more things while "fixing" the main issue. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. Mike is head and shoulders above them all! His is very knowledgeable and professional. He can diagnose just about any auto mechanical problem; I understand he was an electrical engineer in his home country! But because he doesn't have a lot of overhead, his prices are great!!! In person he's very easy to deal with, although he can be a bit hard to understand on the phone cause he does have a slight accent. I was filling my car up with gasoline at the Mobil Station on 24362 El Toro Rd, Laguna Hills, CA 92637 the corner of Moulton Parkway and El Toro Rd. before I started work on Saturday. My battery wouldn't start so I went into the station to see if anyone could help me jump start my car. The man in the garage said, "WE ARE NOT OPEN!! GOODBYE!!" And turned and walked away before I even said what I needed. The owners and/or employees are rude and disrespectful. I've had service there, smog checks and even referred a family member there for car tune ups. No more will I go there for gas or service. I will not refer anyone there and implore you not to do business at this station because they don't know the meaning of customer service. The number was incorrect. I came to the gas station at the register and verified the correct phone number, which is (949) 472-4373. The previously listed number - 1 (949) 830-1570 is only for the mechanic shop, and they refused to give the number to the Mobile station register clerk. They only said: "you have to speak to the mobile cashier in person, and call here only if you have a mechanical problem". I was at the different city, and before driving all the way over there, I needed to verify if they have the new Mobile system that accepts the exxon point fob scanning, which they do. I gave 5 stars to Mobile gas station because the cashier Camilo was very pleasant and professional, and he gladly gave me their phone number. I have mentioned that I'll try to update the Apple map by providing them the correct phone number. I would give zero stars for the rude people at the MECHANIC shop, as while calling there two times, the first guy just said: "come speak to the Mobile cashier in person" and just hung up. I asked my 83 year old grandma to take her car to this service station for a second opinion. I called the service station and Fernando explained to me the issues the car has and their quote was $150 less than the other competitive offer they gave my grandma. I was extremely happy and my grandmother was happy with their service and they did a complementary car wash for her. Fernando was very helpful and is a great mechanic. Their shuttle service gave my grandma a ride to her home in Laguna woods and they brought her back to the service station once her car was fixed. They offered me water and if I needed shuttle service to where ever I needed to go to. Fred and Alicia were super helpful and the price was reasonable. A security guy at my gate in the Woods suggested I go to the Mobile station at El Toro/Moulton. Looked on the Internet to find glowing reviews about Mike! Although it was Sat. about 4:30PM, called and talked to Mike who asked me to come right in. I pulled into this Mobil station to buy gas. Lo and behold, a gentlemen with the auto glass dept comes over and starts to wash my windshield saying that it was part of the service. I didn't think anything of it because he had a auto glass badge around his neck. He looked legit. Next thing I know he's talking to me about the chips and crack I have in my windshield. I've had a crack in my windshield for years and I've never had it repaired because I didn't want to have to pay for it out of pocket or through my insurance. I know, I know, it's dangerous to have chips & cracks in your windshield. He said that it wouldn't cost me as much and then preceded to fix my 3 chips and 1 crack. My family has been bringing our cars to him for several years now for routine maintenance and unexpected car troubles. Mike is incredibly knowledgable (educated as an engineer), honest, and trustworthy. He never overcharges, never skimps on service or parts, and genuinely cares about the care and condition of your car. He's inspected used cars I was thinking about buying and kept me from purchasing some serious lemons. He doesn't sound super friendly on the phone if you're calling for an appointment, but he really is a nice guy. He will also usually have you in and out of there within a half hour. The guy who runs the service part of the gas station, is unbelievably rude. I took my car there today to ask for some water in my radiator. He said the car was 'hot' and I needed to wait 10 minutes. I said OK, and then he put the dipstick in the oil slot and said I was a quart low and said it was $10. He then said I needed 'synthetic' oil. I told him that I didn't think my car used synthetic oil and I called the place who does the service on my Mercedes to ask. They told me I needed 20/50 oil. I told this to 'Mike', who snapped that he didn't have that and that he "knew what my car needed". He walked over to my car, closed the hood, and basically told me to leave. I then went in the convenience store part of the gas station to ask if I could speak to the manager. 'Mike' followed me inside and claimed he was owner (which he isn't) and started verbally assaulting me and saying, "you have a personality problem". For Your Information 'Mike'... Mercedes, BMW's, and Audi's began using 'synthetic oil' in their cars after 2000. My Mercedes is a '97.. and uses conventional oil. I then took my car to PEP boys to get a quart of oil, they tested it and said I was not low on oil. I have a 2009 Mazda mpv and I noticed some shaking. I took it to my local dealership and they gave me a list of what I have to do and it was 1550 dollars!! I had plan to fix it but my sister recommend me to this place a gentleman named Ray helped me he said he would charge me 96 dollars to find the problem but if you decide to fix your car here he will wave the 96 dollars. He called after two hours and said a rat chewed my wires. They would only charge me the part and labor for about 450 dollars. Mike may be an excellent mechanic, but when we stopped in to get an emissions test, he was rude, unhelpful, and used delay tactics to deliberately keep us waiting (he knew we were in a hurry to get back to the nearby DMV). After waiting for 25 minutes (by my watch), he deigned to start the emissions test. Shortly thereafter, he told us that our 2013 Honda CRV was "unreadable" and we should go drive it around for a while and then come back. When my spouse questioned this protocol, Mike then suggested we drive it around every morning and come back every day until he could get a reading!! These are the most rude and unhelpful people I have ever met. I called in to get air, but had never seen an air pump like they had, so I went back into the shop and asked if he could help. He just said that the gauge was on the end. I went back, could not find how it worked, so then went into where they service the cars. I asked the man in there if he could help - he looked at me and said "We're not open" I just said to him thank you for your kindness and he shouted at me to get out. I eventually worked out the gauge, but I certainly will not be going there again for anything. Their attitude is appalling. I saw the review that Tucker gave them and it seems I had a similar experience. I would not even waste my time on giving them a star, but have to put at least one in otherwise I can't post the review, but they are not even up to half a star!!.
