Ordinarily I am not really into reviewing gas stations, but I was seriously impressed by this one. It's really new. The keypad on the system was the new kind with actual buttons n the key pad and not the touch pad style like every other gas station everywhere. It's right off the 5 freeway at the Avery exit, so very convenient as well, and cheaper than the other gas station a block away. You would think this place would be convenient. It really isn't and not completely their fault. Ideally exit, go east, enter location on Paseo side and exit on that same side. The Marg side leads to a series of extra turns and miles of unnecessary driving unless you come here not from the freeway or from the East and go elsewhere. On a decent slop, when raining and oil on the ground I would be careful. Parking is limited even considering the space, it's not very efficient. Prices are high because of the area. Service inside is slow and the variety of snacks are lacking in part due to size. Car wash is pretty good, but expensive, it's a nice feature. Certain key times to avoid due to sunlight is mornings and evenings. It's basically right in your eyes at either time. read more

Shitty place to get a service. I love she'll gas station but the ppl behind the the counter is mean. This particular one, especially. This older fat lady there was so mean and gave me the dirtiest look when I asked her to turn on the air. She stared at me for the longest time then said ok (not willingly). I said thank you and she ignored me. I went back to my car, but she never turned on the air. Thanks lady for being real. I get it, these pandemic hot days make people not being in a good mood, but shit, she works customer service, at least crack a smile or something or say, sorry can't turn on the air, you gotta pay. Cheaper gas for the area but their car wash doesn't work. The soap wasn't dispensed and I purchased the most expensive wash. Imagine your car being washed with no soap, then management doesn't even bother to respond to your email. There is a sign posted at the end of the car wash for complaints and I guess that's just a way to get you to not bother them inside. read more

So last night I was running on 18 miles until empty. I pulled in here because it is quiet and always clean. I paid $50.03 for 87 octane gas and drove home which is only about 20 miles away. Now when I filled up I looked at my full tank and it registered 407 miles until empty. As I pull into the garage I look at my gas gauge and I i was at 354 miles!!!! Another 26 miles missing from my tank!!!! My mother in law drove about 15 miles today because I reset my trip meter last night. I started my car and as I looked at my gas gauge it was now registering 294 miles!!! I drove to work and ended at 248 miles until empty. My car is a 2015 model and is fully serviced. I plan on calling the station to tell the manager because there is something going on with their additives they put in the fuel. I should not be missing almost half of my fuel within 24 hours. I filled up regularly at the ARCO and get 4-5 days worth of gas for less. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where they are not tampering with the fuel. FYI...I have also gone to other SHELL stations by my house and have not had this fuel impact on my vehicle like it was here. read more

Not really sure why the guy would do a day report at 6pm and hold up the line in the store for 10 minutes. On top of that the Sign on the door said Ice was 2.49 and I was charged 3.29. Update 4/3/2018, 8:30PM, pump 4: What a bunch of ass-hats; I get gas on my Shell card with a car wash. The printer is out of paper, and when I go to the store, there is a clock on the door saying they will be back in 25 minutes [from when I was standing there]. WTF? I'm out $6+tax on the frikkin carwash. I wait 10 minutes, figuring the lacky is taking a dump, but nothing. I'm not gonna wait another 15 minutes - time is money. Never again, Shell. Calling Shell tomorrow, cancelling the card, and getting credit. Old review: Consistently lower prices than the stations on Ortega and Junipero Serra. They DO provide the CASH discount when using SHELL cards. They now seem to accept the FRN cards (fuel rewards network), but this has not worked in the past, even though the receipts promoted it. They have a car wash. Starts at $6. They recently (August '16) adjusted the car wash operation profile [to reduce water usage/cost], and it don't do nearly as good a job. The Quickee Mart salespeople have always been helpful, even when I asked for a carwash refund because my pickup wouldn't activate it correctly. read more

Twice now (thought maybe the first time was just a random thing and was willing to give another chance) their car wash has left white spots on my right front fender/hood/car door/side mirror. After it happened today and went in and told them there is something clogged or dry or bad with the soap/wax in the car wash. The woman there argued it wasn't their car wash, even though it JUST happened, the spots weren't there when I went in. She said it must have been something I ran over. If I ran over it, it wouldn't have gotten on both the hood and side of my car (physics and all.) Left a voicemail at number that's near car wash exit to call if there is a problem, no return call as of yet. Stay away from the car wash there. read more

Awful! Go elsewhere for gas. These guys are idiots. They charged my card for gas, the pump stopped and they charged it again. The the pump stopped. I finally left because the whole situation was assinine. Today my card is charged $82 for gas I never got. The manager didn't do much to stop me from writing this when I called him. While the location is "right off the 5", going there from the 5 works great, but getting onto the 5 freeway from this gas station is kind of a pain, the on-ramp is right there in view, but NO LEFT TURNS. Being right by the freeway traffic gets busy, so it's not easy to flip a bitch either. The gas station itself is fairly new, clean, and has a car wash for a plus. read more

This place is a total ripoff. Most gas stations, like Mobil or Chevron, put a $1 hold when you pump gas. In my 20+ years of filling gas, I have never had a gas station putting a $99 hold on any of my credit or debit cards. I get an email alert from American Express when I charge anything over $25. Today, I went to Shell, put $10 in gas and got an email alert stating that Shell charged $99. Everyone should avoid this gas station. It's a big deal if you use your debit card since the funds are not available for couple of days. I will no longer spend a penny at Shell. read more

I've never used a car wash this bad. It already barely gives you any time to dry your car but last time i went the dryer started while my car was being dried and the dryer finished before it finished washing my car. Not only that but the prices are $6, $8, and $9, but the machine only takes ones and fives and doesn't make change. read more
