Drive a few miles down the one to the Mobil for gas half the price. This station is gouging customers at $6 a gallon.

Criminal gouging. Unconscionable behavior. Gas is cheaper on Kauai. Majority of pumps not working as of this writing.

No large sign displaying the gas prices. Wonder why?? Well, because they are gouging folks. Gas is $6+, which is about $2.50 higher than the stations in Ft. Bragg. Ridiculous!! read more

Last night, because we were running on fumes, we bought 1 gallon of regular for $6.26...we headed to fb and paid $2.68 less per gallon to fill up the rest of the way. Holey moley. Also, a pump was out of order. I suppose in circumstances like ours, the trip from Point Arena to FB was only possible because gas was available in Mendo. Still... read more

Charging over $6 a gallon, when it's $4.25 in neighboring towns. That'd be why they don't have a sign advertising the price. Yeah, of course they're welcome to charge what they want, but this seems predatory. It's obvious they're hoping people don't notice the price on the pump, and expect it to be in line with others around. read more

$6.79 for gasoline? I agree with the other reviewers, can't rate this place low enough.

I stopped at this chevron station last week when we were camping at Russian Gulch State Park in Mendocino. I was going to buy gas before heading back to the campground. I figured there price would be slightly higher than the $3.17 per gallon I had seen earlier at the Chevron station in Fort Bragg, especially since this is the ONLY gas station in the town of Mendocino....but there was no visible sign advertising the price prior to pulling into the fuel bay (Which, by the way is required by California State law!!) So I had to look at the price on the pump, and.......OH MY GOD, this Dillweed might as well be standing out there with a mask over his face and holding a gun on you as you pull up! It is CRIMINAL what they are charging. Do yourself a favor and drive the 7 miles to Fort Bragg where the prices are inline with today's market, and the stations have signage like they are supposed to, as stated in the California Dept. of Food and Agriculture's Petroleum Products Program. As Follows: Service stations are required to post the prices of the motor vehicle fuel that they sell. The signs must be visible to the motorist before entering the station to purchase fuel. Any conditions applicable to the sale of the fuel at the advertised price must also be on the advertising sign (i.e., full service or self service and cash price or credit price). And just because you are such an "A-HOLE" ridiculously gouging us California Tax payers, I will be reporting the fact that you are not in compliance with the above requirements. read more

Dear Mr Chevron owner. You should be ashamed of yourself for price gouging like you are doing. Yes, we didn't have to get gas at your station. Funny there are no prices listed out front like every other Chevron station I have ever been too. I thought, why not let's get gas on our way out of Mendocino to support the local business. Ha.....you are horrible and don't know how you can sleep at night when you are stealing money from people like this!! I have one thing to say to you......KARMA! read more

I have to add my voice to the many reviews about the price gouging going on here. It's really surprising there isn't another station in Mendo, to provide some needed competition. That's all it would take. As we were getting enough gas to get us to Fort Bragg ($3.95/gal), 7 miles away, a guy came up to us and suggested just that. He also inquired as to whether we might need any lawn clippings. I wonder what he meant by that...Avoid this place at all costs. Also, there was no one on site at the time. Not a bit surprised. I would hide my face in shame too! read more

My sister enjoyed shopping and eating in Mendocino for the day only to be ripped off as we exited town by stopping for gas at Chevron. No one was there, no price posted - however, you would think there is a standard charge for gas if there is a Chevron sign posted there. $83.91 for 14.57 gallons of gas equals $5.76/gallon. This practice of over charging leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the tourist who comes to spend money for fun in this beautiful Mendocino town. Price gouging at its worse. Not a good PR move for the town. What does town council think of this? read more

If I could give this place negative stars that's the rating I would opt for. Stopped at this Chevron on our way out of Mendocino. The first red flag was that the prices are not posted. As we began to fill our tank thankfully my husband noticed the cost increasing exponentially. We immediately stopped and realized that regular gas was about $5/gal!!!How is this possible when every where else it is averaging around $2.80/gal. This is utterly disgraceful but unfortunately seems to be the modus operandi of this establishment. A sour note during an otherwise beautiful day in Mendocino. read more

This gas station charged me $6.259 for a gallon on gas in June, 2014 & and I have the ripoff receipt! There are no signs posted and apparently -- judging from the reviews on Yelp -- they've been engaged in this type of price gouging for at least two years now. Why doesn't someone do something? I have reported them to Chevron and the proof is on the receipt. Avoid this place at all costs!! read more

Probably one of the most expensive gas stations in the US. Diesel - $9.5, regular gas - $5.26. Do yourself a favor - go north 8 miles, where gas is 3.24 for Premium and diesel is $2.57. read more

This is a -5 star rating. Shame on chevron for letting this station stay within their franchise. I admit it's our choice to pump at station but the gouging is incredulously shameful. Paid $6.48/gal (again, it was our decision to stay in line and pump) while the county and entire area is under evacuation, state of emergency and without electric. Shame on them as owners and part of their quaint community!!!!! Won't swing in to give an economic boost to this "challenged" community again. read more

Thanks Chevron Mendocino. The auto tech was very helpful on NYE; much appreciated!...Yes, the gas was very high; but you do NOT have to buy gas from there...Nice people, great service...Please complain elsewhere...(12/31/2012) read more

This creep is getting away with highway robbery! I was forced to get gas in Mendocino last night but was surprised to see $6.59 a gallon for regular on the pump! I live on the coast in Gualala so I am used to paying at least 70 cents more, per gallon for gas here, but this place is a joke. Another reviewer has posted the name and contact info of the women who owns this 'business', so I will make sure she understands how I feel about this exploration! read more

Screw you guys! 5 bucks a gallon for diesel??!! It's 2.50 now in the Bay Area. Crooks!!

They are intentionally trying to rip off customers with no sign just hoping once you pull up you will cave in and pay. Chevron should make this owner post the prices if they cared anything about their brand but they don't and are ok with some intentionally try to deceive customers. Just go down the road to ft Bragg where stations have reasonable prices! read more

6.00/gallon that's rapping there community when gas 8 miles from them is under 4.00/gallon i'am surprised Chevron has there name on this station read more

At over $6 per gallon this is an absolute rip-off. No prices displayed so you don't know you're being ripped off until you start pumping. Stay away unless you are running on fumes..... read more

Pretty much predators, praying on unsuspecting customers who don't notice the fact that the gas is $6.50/gallon, when just 7 miles away in Fort Bragg, the gas is $3.80! read more

I am just speechless at the audacity of this business and how they are allowed to get away with price gouging and the illegal practice of not posting prices or printing a receipt. I paid $7.02 per gallon of cheapest regular gas over the 4th of July weekend here. I will be pursuing this injustice on every level--the worst instance of rip-off I have ever encountered in 40 years of travelling!!! TB read more

If I could give them a zero I would. Just filled up and what a rip off - $5.15 a gallon - the last time I use this station!

Good job ripping off visitors to your town. These people are probably dirty rich off the high gas prices that most of us didn't even notice until we have filled up our cars. read more

Price gouging indeed, since no prices are posted at this station as is the norm in the rest of the country. No wonder of course when charging nearly double the going rate elsewhere!!! I was charged $6.259 per gallon for regular unleaded. The attendant office was closed so there was no recourse to be had. These thieves are preying on unsuspecting tourists (like me) for a one-time ripoff. Don't give them your business!!! read more

Deceptive price gouging! As soon as I realized the outrageous price- which they do everything to hide- I stopped the pump. SInce I had this experience, I am boycotting ALL Chevron stations until they kick these gougers out! read more

Had the misfortune of stopping in Mendocino on our way up the coast from San Francisco to Eureka. The rental needed gas and I always heard good things about the town. Well, I payed $6.49 a gallon at the chevron. Sticker shock!!! But I just chalked it up to the high CA prices. Well, about 17 miles later in a Fort Bragg I saw gas for $3.89. I was furious. I can see $.40 to $.50 difference, but $2.60???? What a ripoff. Will never stop again and I advise people to go the extra few miles and save a fortune. I feel sorry for the people of Mendocino. Avoid the Chevron at all costs. And avoid Mendocino also. I give it zero stars if I could. read more

They charge $6.259/G. There was no clear price sign, the price display panel was not very clear, and there was no attendant. I should have checked the price carefully before filling up, but I did not suspect such a rip off. I only realized after getting the receipt. A few miles towards Fort Bragg, the regular was $4.159/G. read more
