However, for my particular needs, it didn't feel as if I got enough out of the appointment. My weight has been very steady for the past couple years, which I suppose is a good thing, but I've been trying to lose weight by doing consistent workouts, nixing coffee, takeout, trying to incorporate more veggies into my diet. I definitely have issues with soda and snacking (cookies/chips), but overall I wanted to see if I could have a plan designed for me to help me accelerate weight loss, preferably 1-2 lbs a week. Her approach is not about diet restriction/calorie counting, but more about wholesome clean/natural eating, balanced meals. It's a great approach and I applaud that. I just know my biggest issues are calories. I eat great foods -- spinach, broccoli, avocados, Greek yogurt, blueberries, almonds, peanut butter, apples, peppers/mushrooms -- but portion and calories, even with healthy things, can cause weight gain, too. I wanted a strict diet/calorie plan that would ensure I could drop weight but not feel deprived. I may have been better off using a calorie counting app, but figured a professional could maybe offer more? I think she is good for someone who may have zero knowledge of nutrition, and have no idea where to begin when it comes to snacks or meals. Her snack/diet suggestions were things I was already incorporating into my diet, and it felt a little repetitive. I was seen more or less on time, my appointment at 1PM, and walking up to her office by 1:10. It's up in a loft inside a pilates studio, so if people have any physical issues with walking, I would not recommend this narrow winding stair case. Very cozy and cute looking space once you're inside. Simple looking, with a desk for her work, some chairs, and further inside seems to be a cute living or recreational space. Also, very hot inside. Considering we were on the very top, and it was still the height of summer, it felt unbearably stuffy and uncomfortable. No air conditioning, but not even a fan. I sat there, trying to think clearly while feeling sweaty and gross. By the time I left, I realized I had huge sweat stains! Great person to slowly guide you into healthy eating. She offered good suggestions, and introduced me to the Plate Method.

I have been with Lorraine for almost a month now and can safely say that she has completely changed my life and point of view on food. She provides such a comfortable and safe environment to talk about not just food, but my cognitive and mental outlook on my life. Upon my consultation, she made sure to note all aspects of my health and past eating habits, and created a delicious customized meal plan based on my preferences, as I am primarily plant based. These plans also integrate meal prep into them, which has reduced my snacking tendencies, as I can just grab my prepped meals from the fridge. I have fallen in love with cooking at home again and get excited about each meal as they are all so diverse and completely satiate me. It's crazy how quickly my taste preferences have changed and crave her recipes. The 3-month plan I opted for includes weekly check-ins, where Lorraine doesn't mention calories or weight every time, but more of how I am feeling mentally based on the foods I am eating. She is also sure to educate me on certain foods to avoid or gravitate towards which can positively affect my lifestyle. I needed to reconnect with Molly after a nasty bout with covid back in January 2021. After getting sick with a complicated virus such as covid, I was truly blessed to start a new health journey with Molly. Molly not only sees the value of nutrition, but also the mental and spiritual aspects of health. She will recommend: books, films, and self-care practices that will get you feeling right again. She got me to start eating dairy-free again; this was huge for me. Also, she got me to start eating more plant based again as well! This time it was actually easier than anticipated. I now eat basically 90% plant based and some days have no meat at all. I really feel stronger and my performance has been better at the gym as well. Another thing is, Molly understands the importance of boundaries and being a bit selfish about your health and self care at times! Her simple tips go a long way, and if you utilize all these small tips they will yield results and pay dividends. Molly is so positive and encouraging as well. I've naturally learned how to cut back on or eliminate things my body just doesn't respond well to. I've never been one to "enjoy" salads. It's taken me years to get here, but now I just throw in what I want, even if it's just a few ingredients, and my body thanks me for it. Not only that, Molly has taught me how emotions fuel my body, and not in an intellectual way. It's really about leading with intuition, and that's something that develops over time. My skin has never been clearer! Previously, I'd try different products that would work for a time, and then it'd be back with the breakouts. It's taken some time to get to the point where I am now, but overall, I'm so happy. There's still work to go, but I never thought I'd see the day where I'd go an entire month without one new pimple. Since quarantine, I've lost weight without even trying (and still ordering Seamless), and my face doesn't seem gaunt, which has been in an issue in the past. It just feels like this is how my body is supposed to look now, but I'm still open to the journey and feeling good where I'm at.
