I'm having Chetu code an app along with corresponding back office and website for our startup. I decided to go with Chetu after firing another developer and then talking to a couple of companies who used them. I found their rates to be very good, of course, they are using coders in India. Hey, I tried to use US coders with horrible results. The project has been going on since December, and we are about 6 weeks from completion now. So far, I have been very happy with what they've done. They have been very adaptable and have had excellent communication. Everyday, I get email updates from all of the coders. Each week we have a meeting where they demonstrate the products and receive input. The project is tracked on Trello, and they stay on top of it all the time. I question the negative reviews left here. If you search for other Chetu reviews, you'll find reviews from Neisy J under different names and locations with the exact same review. Red flag. Once the project is completely finished, well at least version 1, I'll come back and update my review. read more

Never work with Chetu. I brought an app that was 98% complete and needed them to make minor modifications. They broke functions of the app and then took weeks to repair them. I'd ask a question and it would take them 4 days to respond and I was being charged the entire time. We hired Chetu for an Autotask/QuickBooks integration and after 1,000+ hours we still had no completed product. Costs more than doubled, weekly calls were repetitive with no progress, there war no finished product delivered but what shown was outdated, inefficient, and overpriced. Very poor experience. Chetu sold us a ~500-hour project that dragged past 1,000 hours with no finished product. Calls were unproductive, their team lacked QuickBooks expertise, and the solution was unfinished, outdated, and costly. I believe this is actually a scam company and not a real business. They sell services they do not have. Our experience is that we hired them to do some integration work between quickbooks and autotask. They brought on junior or incompetent engineers that just kept pushing the work around, unable to make progress. When we asked to escalate we got the run around. Chetu threaten to illegally sue anyone who writes a bad review which is why reviews are written anonymously. I paid them $50,000 to develop an iPhone app and what I got was a bunch of useless code. If you are a small business RUN FAR AWAY FROM CHETU. You have a legal right to post honest reviews and contracts that forbid you from leaving reviews and threatens to revoke your use of the IP due to leaving reviews voids the contract. What was touted as a "world-class company" to rebuild a website with newer technology ended up being a website with reused broken code wrapped into a vulnerable word press website. The original contract was for a roughly 3-month project which extended into 7-8 months. The concept was they were billed by the hour and that it would be handed off to the hire's Technology dept or person if they had one. Unfortunately, the hours kept stretching on and when pressed for actual time-sheets because it felt like we were being conned, they never provided the documents. After one problem was fixed, 2-3 more would crop up. When asked to ensure verification and testing, that never happened. It's the equivalent of hiring contractors to redo your kitchen in a 3-month span, showing you the cabinets, fridge, counters working separately, but once it was put together in one room, you were missing the fridge, dishwasher and most of the electrical outlets while being told you didn't provide the correct planning. Towards the end, the communication was so bad that Chetu accounts still remained in our system. We attempted to remove them, and one of them was connected to the WordPress system as an admin account that flushed most of the site down with the admin account. When asked for assistance, there was none given. We've had to go back to the drawing board and redo most of what was done by Chetu, putting the site backward a year. read more

Chetu is a terrible company to work with. I have never had more problems with deadlines and communication in my life. The company told us our project work take about 10 weeks and over 40 weeks later we decided to stop working with them as our project was still incomplete. We found a new company and programmer who have done more work in 2 weeks than chetu could do in 2 months. The time they estimate and charge you for is 2-5 times longer than it should be (I just found this out after working with a new company). I strongly recommend choosing another company over this one. Our company needed a couple additional resources for a big project. We brought Chetu in to help out, and the entire experience was nothing short of a nightmare. If you read any of the review on Chetu you will find that they all say the same things: incompetent developers, missed timelines, over budget, etc. You will also see that when confronted, Chetu gets nasty and makes threats, with the CEO being the most nasty and aggressive of them all. We were able to salvage the project because we were fortunate enough to have our own resources in house, but most people do not have that luxury. We ended up losing money on the project because unlike Chetu, we stand by our estimates and had to take a loss in order to preserve the client relationship. If you think you are going to save money by paying a cheap hourly rate for a developer, think again. Chetu is more expensive in the long run because their developers take 5x the time to complete a task than a competent developer would take. Our team reviewed the code commits from Chetu and believe that they inflate the number of hours actually worked because the commits to not correspond to the amount of time they claimed to have worked. And don't be fooled by Chetu's assertion that they are on-shore / off-shore. Check out the reviews on Glassdoor from their former employees and you can see first hands accounts which detail a dysfunctional sweat shop. Their developers admittedly lack the skills for the projects they are assigned to, and they describe their work environment in India as hostile. This company is extremely overpriced for the service you get. The customer service is nonexistent and the CEO is extremely rude. The only conversation they will have with you is when will they get their money. Remember that you are paying for time which includes their mistakes which were many. Oh, they have themselves covered in the contract, so be very careful. they list their services as a consultation that they hold NO liability for. I ended up spending $100k on a system that did not work and had so many glitches. They even tried to get me to pay for the errors and sent me the files with the wrong access codes. I could not even get in my own software. Had to hire a professional to hack into it. I got the same amount of work done (higher quality) in a 16th of the time and a 16th of the cost. The worst was how the CEO and his team (by order), handle the situation as if I was in the flea market spending $10. I was so stressed thinking I had lost everything. NEVER AGAIN! read more
