Director Amanda is excellent and responsive. My son was in the Pre-K room there and my daughter in the 2s and then Preschool Rooms. Megan is/was the Pre-K teacher and I adored her. She was open and up front with the parents. Which is always appreciated. Paulina was my daughter's teacher for the majority of the time she was there and I miss her. She was sunshine. A couple of things I didn't care for: When we'd pick up the kids (at 4:15) my daughter's preschool class was often mixed in with the Pre-K class. And the same when we'd drop them off in the morning. At those times, I kind of felt like they were never doing anything....always running around playing but not doing anything organized. And by running around playing I mean that it came across as complete chaos sometimes. In the end the school did not offer Kindergarten so that is why we pulled my kids out. The school is pretty new, considering the ages of many of the places around here...so I think in time and when there are more kids there, that the kink I mentioned above may work themselves out.

We knew she loved being around other children, so we thought we would give daycare a shot. We're so happy we found Rainbow Academy. They go above an beyond for the children. Even though our daughter is still an infant, they keep her engaged with daily activities and tons of seasonal celebrations. We were able to take the morning off and come take her trick-or-treating with her class. That was so cool to us! All these little things add up, and we know she's being taken care of very, very well. Plus, our daughter loves it there. I was able to go back to work full-time sooner than I thought because of how much she loves it. She's attached to her teachers and has a blast all day. Her teachers helped her adjust to the daily routine, and we see the benefits all the time of the love and devotion they put into her every day. She comes home so happy (and tired from a big day of play!) and we notice her picking up new skills. I also love that they separate the infants into the really small children and the older children. It gives our daughter a chance to get more focused attention on the things she needs to be working on. I also appreciate how much charity work this business does. If I wanted any information from the director or the teachers I needed to ask for it, and I often got different responses depending on who I asked. It felt like the teachers relied on the "Tadpoles" app as a crutch so that they did not have to talk to us. Moreover, I was upset at the number of injuries and incidents my son experienced here compared to his placement at another center. His very first day after attending, he came home with horrible diaper rash with open sores. The teachers tried to make excuses for this by saying it may have been because they were serving him fruit. This is ridiculous to me because we had been serving him fruit at home for almost a year at that point. He was constantly sick and had so many bruises, scrapes and bite marks from "incidents" that I was afraid his pediatrician would think he was being abused. It culminated in an incident where he had a febrile seizure in the classroom and the teachers claimed that they had no idea what caused the seizure or if it could have been prevented. They sent him to the ER where his temperature was found to be 102.7. They claimed someone had been holding him when it happened, so how could they not have known that he had a fever? We had also previously told them that he has a history of febrile seizures. As childcare professionals they should have known the signs of a fever and been able to contact us or administer Tylenol to him before the seizure happened. All in all I did not feel safe sending my son here, and I think the teachers and director did not do a good job either communicating or making sure my child was appropriately cared for. I am writing this not to hurt their business but to make sure other parents are able to make an informed choice when it comes to who they trust with their child's care.

This is why my child is 4 years old and not completely potty-trained! The KinderCare just up the street understands this issue... And never blamed my child for any neglect because they didn't neglect him. Great Beginnings did. I have never brought my child there with a rash! He had a wound on his leg because this daycare did not change him for however long! So the audacity of the owner trying to shift the blame on my child not being potty trained is absolutely ridiculous... Considering he's been in several other daycares where this has not been an issue, I know where the blame lies. So we can go back and forth on this issue until we make it to court! Because I still have the pictures the day it happened. And that's the exact day I told these people my son would no longer attend this daycare! I just so happen to take him home and find the wound after. He had been giving me signals of abuse previously that I didn't understand until I found this wound. My child can't speak for himself , so I have to be the one to do so. This daycare knows that my son was unable to speak for himself... Which gave them license to neglect him! KinderCare down the street and NEVER neglected him. Or tried to blame him for his delays in speech and development! How dare you! You should be ashamed of yourself. So this place doesn't like to employee people with actual credentials that want to help children. I think this is a place where people pass through when they realize their skills are better utilized to actually help children..., rather than neglect them for time management purposes. It's a good thing I took my child out of there! I would never step foot in this place again! So much so that I have to send my own posted envelope to get a tax document that could easily be uploaded, or sent in the mail. We signed on during the transitional period and it was messy but they've proven themselves to be very hospitable and welcoming to us. They perform their duties professionally while still giving you a sense of true caring for the children.
