This preschool is special. It combines a loving, nurturing environment with dynamic, inventive programming. Although we only needed a half-day program, Bethlehem does provide a full-day preschool/daycare option as well. The prices are very reasonable. My first daughter graduated the program well-prepared for elementary school. Not only was she academically prepared, but also socially prepared as well. My second daughter will be starting her second year there. I noticed so much positive growth in both of my children each year there. Bethlehem not only prepares your child for "school", it also gives your child a wonderful Faith-based foundation upon which to build their life. The teachers are always finding new and exciting ways to show the kids how to find joy in learning. Both of my children look forward to school and get excited about learning. I don't think there is anything more important for a preschool to do than that. Since I have been with Bethlehem for 4 years already, I've noticed that every year, the director Miss Pong, makes a point of listening to parent suggestions and implementing them whenever possible. It give my husband and I such confidence to know that any concerns that we have will be heard and addressed. When we were comparing preschools, we ended up choosing Bethlehem in large part because Miss Pong was the only staff member that actually had an answer to our question "What is your curriculum", instead of the standard answer we were getting: "Oh, it's a typical preschool program." And the staff at Bethlehem place learning opportunities above "what is easy." For example, other preschools told us that they don't have the children outside in the winter because it takes too much time getting the children into and out of their snow suits. Miss Pong, on the other hand, told us that the kids go out in the winter, weather permitting, because it gives them an opportunity to learn how to zipper and button as well as get fresh air. Bethlehem also provides many in-house field trip opportunities (as well as at least one outside trip) not found in most preschools. The local fire department, health department, wildlife shelter, and animal shelter all come and give hands-on presentations to the kids. A librarian from the St. Charles library also comes once a month to do story time with the kids. And at least once or twice a month, Pastor Mark or Pastor Sarah puts on Bible stories for the kids (even dressing up as the characters on occasion). There are special days for the kids like Crazy hair day, Fashion Disaster day, Beach day, Backwards day, etc. Another thing I love about Bethlehem is that Miss Pong is always striving to provide parents with opportunities to get together if they are interested. She even opened a new lounge area where parents can hang out and visit. She fosters the idea that the school is a community. This school is amazing! read more
