On the way back from Greenville, SC, he exits the highway at the Gaffney Outlet exit from 85 (between Greenville and Charlotte) and drags me to the Gaffney Outlet Food Court. If you have seen my Panda Express review.... YOU KNOW I PARTICULARLY DO NOT LIKE FOOD COURT FOOD. I don't even go to the food court. But here I am. So here I am, at Gaffney outlet mall in the food court. There are all of maybe five restaurant options there and only three were open. I'm dragged to the counter of this place called Sugar Daddyz's which is a straight shot from the parking lot entrance. My SO is so happy! I'm looking at the menu, they have an extensive selection of funnel cakes, you imagine it, they will prepare it. But then there are items such as fried snickers, fried cheesecake, hell... fried anything your heart desires that is legal, edible and fryable (is that a word???). They also had cakes, candy apples, and more. This is literally a sweet tooth's DREAM. This now makes sense why I'm cooking healthy and my SO's stomach is going more out than in. He has been cheating on me with Sugar Daddyz's! We ended up ordering and sharing a half apple/ half plain with powdered sugar funnel cake. The gentlemen working were knowledgeable, personable and willing to sell me 2000 calories and a smile. I'm pretty sure they were the owners, their pride was showing through. The funnel cake came out rather quickly, cooked just right, texture of the funnel cake, was not greasy or tasted of old grease. It was a great funnel cake. What made this a winner for me was the portion and the freshness of the ingredients used. The apples were fresh and plentiful. It was so good. I was hoping that this funnel cake had SOMETHING I could complain about, for the sake of my diet and my hips, but no such luck. The place looked clean, owners were super nice and my funnel cake was delish. Like worth making a special trip to Gaffney for this. There was a younger guy working with dark hair that was cheerful and eager to learn how to help us. He spoke to each of us with joy and asked us if we were enjoying the lights because he had never been himself. To our surprise we stumbled upon River Streets Sweets- an homemade candy and ice cream confectionery located in the heart of downtown Greenville. I was in Oh, with the desserts they had ranging from candy, fudge, chocolate covered apples, soft-serve ice cream, popcorn, nuts, chocolate covered pretzels/marshmallows, and so much more. River Streets Sweets has some unique flavors that I have never heard of before, such as Bear Claw, Blueberry, Hazelnut Coffee Crunch, and Pink Grapefruit.
