Popped into this candy shop, knowing that they just opened one in Knoxville as well (which I have been longingly seen in passing). I had a minute to look around and see what kinda candy we're working with. They have a ton of quirky flavored colas, wall signs, comic books, and of course, candy. I was anticipating a wall of bulk Jelly Bellies, but the only bulk candy I saw was a ton of saltwater taffy and the self-serve, flavored sugar tubes. There were a ton of silly, unique gift candies and candy packs...a goofy kid (or kid-at-heart's) dream. HUGE gummy tongues, gummy sushi kits, lots of candies and tins for Harry Potter fans. The shop is a bit pricey with a touristy vibe, but I appreciated that the owner was walking around greeting the (many) customers and the ability to find something for everyone. read more

Was having a bad day and stepped inside to grab a treat. The man at the counter had amazing customer service and I left the shop much happier than I arrived! I didn't get his name, but I hope he knows that his small acts of kindness make all the difference. We were walking around Asheville and had to stop here. What a huge assortment of candy! Mallo Cups, Chuckles, Reggie bars, everything you could want. Row upon row of pop. We were vising our home away from home ( Asheville NC) when we got caught in a rainstorm while walking downtown. What a great surprise we had when we ducked in here to stay dry. Amazing & funky collection of sodas ( 100's!) and candies ( 100's more!) Some blasts from the past ( wax bottles with flavored sugar water) as well as odd flavors of soda: crumb cake soda (!), pickle soda(?), and grass soda :( They are always creating new flavors of soda too. Such a cute candy store in the heart of Asheville! Rocket Fizz has everything a candy lover could want! Well, almost everything. Unfortunately they didn't carry the Fruit Chews I was looking for and loved as a child. Even though they didn't have it the owner did his best to walk us through the store and offer suggestions on items he had that may be similar, which I appreciated! Even letting me sample some before I made my purchase. They had everything from quirky flavored cotton candy (ex. pickle and pizza flavors) to nostalgic candy favorites dating back to the 1960's, as well as the all time favorites like Reese's or Snickers. There was a "mystery grab bag" section which was really awesome. $9.99 for a small bag, $16.99 medium, or $36.99 for the mega. You wouldn't find out what was in the bag until after you paid for it which is the fun part. There was also a quarter drop game in the middle of the store. Drop a quarter in a water filled jug, if the quarter lands in the shot glass at the bottom you win a soda of your choice, which they had dozens of cool flavors to choose from. A candy and soda lover could easily spend an hour in here reminiscing and admiring the huge selection of sweets and merchandise. We cannot say enough about our experience today at Rocket Fizz, Asheville! Not only is this store in a fantastic and totally cool location but they welcomed us and our pups with genuine smiles and love! Our corgis, Panda and Miss Swish were happy as could be to relax in the AC, pose for pictures and watch the activities. They may have even enjoyed a wiff or two of some peanut butter candies! OMG OMG! These people are the friendliest ever! This store brings such cool vibes with some many colors. If you love candy and sodas, this is your store. They have this jar filled with liquid in which you can drop a quarter and make it score into the shot glass on the bottle, if you make it you get a FREE SODA, of your choice! I honestly thought that was a clever idea for their customers, not only are they giving away a free soda but it shows you they really care about their customers. I tried around 8 different sodas and they are all different. They have over 400 different sodas and they are all tasty in their own ways. If you're a fan of ginger ale, you can find an onslaught of different types here, including Blenheim hot. I can't help but be baffled by the size of this place. It's huge. The lease here must cost a fortune, but they don't show any signs of shutting down, so business must be good. I popped in for a few last minute stocking stuffers and was pleased to find that they had little vintage toys and fun knick knacks as well. If you've got kids and you're looking to spoil them, or completely overload them with sugar to the point of insulinic shock, Rocket Fizz has got your back. One our traditions when we are in town is to go to Mast General and let the kids get some candy from the bulk bins. We arrived 5 minutes too late so I yelped and found Rocket Fizz. Quick car ride over and we were in. The sodas are the stars of the show, lined up all around the store. Bacon soda? Double whammy for your heart! I didn't try but did look around which was cool seeing all the different kinds. The kids did get their bulk candy, mostly in saltwater taffy form. My complaint and reason for the 3 stars is most of the taffy was hard, not that soft taffy chew. Was really disappointed. And we bought a lot. Oh well. read more

Lovely selection, prices seem to be double what you'd expect. There is lots of candy you can get anywhere with a mix of more unusual ones thrown in. Also old timey candies make an appearance as well. There are also random comic books and novelty gifts sprinkled throughout. read more

I went to the Asheville location of Rocket Fizz on 7/9/22, 20 minutes before closing. We were rudely greeted by two workers behind the counter who yelled that they were closing soon. We said we would be fast and we're just browsing. Immediately the girls rolled their eyes and loudly said a rude comment about us to each other. They continued to stare and make comments until we left. There were also plenty of other people shopping, without a problem. I have loved this chain in the past, but do not recommend visiting the Asheville location. read more

I stopped in here while walking across town only because my wife saw the sign and pulled me in. I always thought this was just a gimmicky tourist shop with random trinkets and candies. After going into the store, I still think it is kind of touristy, however, I began realizing how rare some of the sodas are that they had! Once I saw how many they had, I began looking for one that I have not had in years since I lived in Papua New Guinea. It is an Australian Ginger Beer that I've only ever been able to find at World Market on rare occasions, and this little soda shop had it!
