I asked him how much it would cost to repair everything. He quoted me $1400.00. He said he doesn't set the prices. I told him i couldn't afford it so he dropped the price to $1000.00. I said fine. He said he wanted cash so I went to the bank. When i returned he was getting ready to leave when i asked about the fireplace cleanout which was full of ash. He told me it would take time to clean it, then finally said it didn't need to be cleaned...It was full of ash and soot. He smeared regular morter all over my red brick chimney with his fingers (see pics)and did the same in the fireplace. The mortar he put in the chimney has already cracked and fallen out and I can literally rub the mortar off the chimney with my hand in most places. I have been trying to get a manager to come out to look for two weeks with no response. I will be filing a claim with the Contra Costa Superior Court Monday morning. I strongly suggest staying away from these guys...

The house is 100 years old and the prior occupant hadn't cleaned the chimney in a long time. Joe was able to come out very shortly after I called, and when he came out he was able to diagnosis a few fairly significant issues that needed to be addressed. He then put together a very competitive estimate on the spot. Joe and one of his guys came out the next week and took care of everything. They were very efficient, tidy, and communicative, and the work product is excellent. There were some hiccups throughout the day that were not Joe's fault, and he just rolled with them, found solutions, and executed with barely any delay. And as I wrote in my last review, he is an incredibly nice and friendly guy. He's also very honest, straightforward, and open. I completely trust him and highly recommend him to anybody needing chimney and fireplace work.

Sam was great to speak with and he answered all of my questions and gave me what I thought was a reasonable quote (given all the increased taxes and tariffs due to the Trump administration ripping off Americans!!) and scheduled time for them to come and install a new gas insert. The installers were quick and professional and did a good job installing the new gas insert, everything looks great and the fire is warm. :)

Throughout the whole process, Kevin the owner was open and honest with how to get the most bang for my buck and didn't pressure me with any upselling. Upon hiring Signature, they were great at communication and were able to schedule me about a month out after I accepted their bid. Kevin came out and did a temporary patch prior to a big storm to make sure I didn't have further damage while waiting for my roof replacement. During the actual install, his crew was professional and friendly. One of the guys actually brought me tamales that his wife had made! They were very respectful of me, which is important to me as a woman living alone who needs to feel safe. The worksite was tidied after the job and they even did some minor stucco repairs. Signature may not be the absolute lowest price out there, but I think they are by far the best value and highest quality. Thanks Kevin!
