Marie did such a beautiful job at making my cotillion beautiful as could be. She definitely exceeded my expectations. Because she worked so closely with our hotel she was able to help us contact the hotel. All the floral arrangements were beautiful,the tables set up were beautiful and the fixtures that we had like the canopy and the uplights were gorgeous. She was also there at our cotillion making sure everything ran smoothly. There was just one problem that I didn't like, I know for cotillions youre usually suppose to do slide shows as a special section for everyone to watch, but as someone who has gone to many debuts and cotillions, my sister and I specifically wanted it during dinner as the guest while they ate, because slideshows to us wasnt a big deal, we wanted it, but not something to take special time out of and do as a separate event. We did specifically tell her about this, and we made the slide show at least 20 minutes longer without music(so it would play with the music we wanted at dinner) BECAUSE we wanted it played at dinner, but it didn't. it played after dinner and after the performances, Other than that, Marie made our cotillion wonderful and I am very happy with the total outcome of the event. read more

The color choices made for the high and low table arrangements and our sweetheart table definitely popped while allowing us to keep a romantic/rustic wedding theme. Omg omg omg I still can't seem to LET IT GO over how awesome my Frozen themed cotillion was thanks to Chesha's Events. Cotillions in the Bay Area are always a competition between classmates and high schools so when it came to my cotillion, my parents knew to pick the best there is here. Marie was my onsite coordinator and event designer for my cotillion. Really, when it came to planning, she asked me what I wanted and I just told her, "I just want it to look like the move Frozen." I was a bit curious as to what Marie would be able to pull off. Flowers in the winter? Pretty sure she'd pick white ones but which ones? I really didn't want white roses. Low and behold, Marie not only created one, but TWO amazing white flowered centerpieces without roses! They even had a frosty element to it and she made the vases glow with light blue and had them painted to make them look like they were icicles! My friends kept screaming and running up to me like, "JENNA THIS LOOKS LIKE A WEDDING!" Oh man. I'm definitely getting Marie to do my wedding. Another cool thing is that Chesha's Events is pretty popular around here for their candy bar creations. I definitely wanted her to do that but I also wanted something that would make my event different than all the other cotillions she's done. Marie said, "Well, since your theme is Frozen, let's do the candy bar, but we'll also do an ice cream bar." I was freaking out! There was this long table set up with giant scoops of chocolate and vanilla ice cream along with bowls of all sorts of toppings. It was the coolest thing ever. When it comes to slideshows and random cousins wanting to perform at cotillions, I know how annoying that can get and how it ruins the flow of the party so I was really nervous but thanks to Marie, everything was on time and she even managed to squeeze in a surprise performance by my little cousin who sang, "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman." I remember my mom and Marie discussing that if any relatives want to do surprise performances that aren't in the program to tell them straight up no, but I'm glad Marie found a way to let my little cousin sing. All of the vendors she recommended, my family and I took with full trust: DJ, photographer, and videographer. They all did an amazing job and everything was absolutely perfect. If anything did go wrong, I hardly even noticed, which I'm glad because Marie's job is to fix it. Having Marie design and plan my cotillion was the best birthday present my parents gave me. I've personally known Marie for 10 years and Chesha's Events are my go to event planning coordinators when I have an event or know someone need's some extra help. :) Marie has been involved with several of the parties I've either attended or have been a part of. To name a couple, one was my cousin's wedding I was in on November 29, 2013. Not only did Marie work with my cousin on her budget and what she could afford but the event itself looked like a winter wonderland. The floral arrangements, the bouquets, along with the other flowers were all beautiful. The center pieces looked amazing and you can tell Marie and her assistants work very hard to make them perfect. Marie and her assistants were also very kind hearted and warm with the guests of the party and made sure everything ran smoothly and in a timely manner. Originally we went to Marie for seat covers and we ended up hiring her for my twin sister and I's "twintillion." We had it at the Double Tree hotel and Marie helped us with contacting the hotel. She took a lot of stress off our hands. She as well was able to do the stuff we weren't able to think through because planning a party is very hard and stressful, but with her she was able to guide us through it. She also helped with the order (schedule) of everything. I contacted her through email and she replied within a day which is pretty fast, in my opinion. The day of the party she was there the whole time (with helpers) and guided us throughout the whole event. We didn't have to worry about decorations or anything because she took care of it all. The day of, all I had to worry about was hair and makeup and not stress at all about the ballroom. The party itself turned out better then expected and it's all thanks to Marie. She even took down everything at the end of the night and we didn't have to worry about it. Everyone raved about the decorations! It has been about a week or two and people are still talking about it. If you have never planned a huge event, come talk to Marie, she'll help you through it! read more

Review Marie Hiring Marie is every brides nightmare. The purpose of hiring a wedding day coordinator/planner is too keep the stress off the bride but that's all Marie did, stress me out the day of the wedding. I don't entirely blame her for everything that went wrong, I blame myself for hiring her and not sticking with my instinct. I got so many warnings from all my friends who recently got married or are getting married, when she wasn't being clear about her role and not showing me any receipts from the beginning. She had so many red flags. I don't know where to begin.. I'll start from the beginning. I sent her a wedding day agenda from March to September and she never responded or made any suggestions and I kept telling her I sent her everything and I assumed everything was ok. I also sent her the seating arrangement but she managed to put my family and my husband's family who flew from New York/Texas/Washington DC in the other side towards the back from our table at our wedding. Two days before the wedding at the rehearsal she made changes to the wedding day agenda, why didn't she do this with me a month before the wedding NOT 2 days before the wedding. When I confronted her over the phone, she said she kept asking me to finalize the agenda... THE WEEK OF THE WEDDING. At the rehearsal, Marie was rushing everything and I saw she ignored/avoided questions from my in laws, my husband and my officiant. My in laws and the bridal party later told me she was unprofessional and rude. When my officiant and husband asked her to help them with the sequence of the coins/veil/etc, I heard her day to them in front of me "google it" and walked away. Her company is called "Cheshas Flowers." The morning of the wedding, I got missed calls from Marie and a text asking me to call her. Her urgency seemed like I should worry but I was too busy with hair and make up. I called her 1130am for my bouquets since my bridal party and I were going to take photos. She said "The bouquets are not ready. One of my assistants quit and I'm stressed because this morning the tables were not out." Are you serious? Should I feel sorry for you that you're stressed and why did she tell me this? I asked her to have one of her assistants drop off the flowers and she said no. So I had to have one of my photographer's assistants pick the bouquets up. By the time we got the bouquets, I wanted to break down. My bouquet, half the roses were dead, literally, my entire bridal party was in total shock and everyone was quiet. I had sent Marie numerous photos how I wanted my bouquet to look like and it looked NOTHING like the photos I sent her. The edges of the roses were black and dead. My dad and brothers thought it was a bouquet from a wedding she did the week before. I didn't want those crystals on them and she added crystals. My bridesmaids bouquets were nicer than mine, that's what they said too. What pissed me off the most was they were all poorly put together, they were falling apart and my husbands boutinerre fell apart quickly in the limo. So that's how my wedding day started. I would think, if I received dead flowers, get FRESH ones. She kept telling my mom that that's how those roses look like... Doesn't make sense to give a bride dead flowers. The Flowers for the cake looked nothing like what I showed her. She charged me $50 to stick a few flowers upward. It was hideous. At the end of the night of the wedding, she had the nerves to come up to me and say "This had never happened to me before. I will refund you $200." I just looked away in tears. This day was also my 30th birthday. I don't care about the money ... Marie ruined my wedding day. I prepared and planned this for a whole year. I couldn't get the photo shots I wanted with my bouquet. I spend thousands on my photographer and videographer and I couldn't get the bouquet shots I wanted. She is very unorganized, not honest, and not professional. My dessert caterer said when she got to the venue to set up, she went to Marie and asked for a table, Marie said i don't know and ignored her. My food caterer ended up helping my dessert caterer. My DJ also said the same thing about Marie when he asked for a table. I won't ever recommend Marie to anyone. I'm sure she did a great job for other peoples weddings but she clearly ignored mine and I paid her THOUSANDs ... I'm sure she made out a lot still from me after refunding me for the bouquets and her poor wedding day coordination fee. If I can go back in time, I would've hired a professional wedding planner because based on her obvious unacceptable and unprofessional behavior, she was only in it for the money and did not care about me. I sent her numerous emails how I wanted the flowers to look and my $400 big center flower piece, everything looked nothing like how I envisioned my wedding to look like. She should be ashamed of her behavior. DO NOT go through what I had to go through. DO NOT hire her. read more

Marie did such an awesome job coordinating the day of our wedding making sure everything went smoothly. As the bride and groom, we were able to enjoy the day with our guest without the feeling of being stressed. Her flower arrangements were beautiful and we couldn't be more happy with the outcome. We bought all of our decorations including our candy bar and she did such a fabulous job with the set up. Our goal was to have it decorated in an elegant manner as the theme was Old Hollywood and she delivered It. She had taken off most of the stress in having a wedding . She listened to our ideas and she suggested as well. We told her what we want and told her I believed in her creativity. Sure enough I was very right. A few weeks ago, I had my cotillion and Marie and her team did a great job! First of all, when we started the planning process, Marie was always so on top of things and took note of all of my likes and interests for the party. Before meeting with her for the first time, I knew that I wanted a Disney themed cotillion and didn't know how that would turn out but when we met, she said it was no problem and that she's done some Disney themed events before; needless to say, I was relieved. I wanted my main color for the party to be a mint green (since it's my favorite color), and was concerned if she could make it happen but she did! We agreed upon having mint as the main color with white accents. She made the planning process so easy whether we were discussing centerpieces, flowers, the candy bar, invitations, etc., and she had so many options to choose from! She definitely knew what she was talking about and always said she'd offer discounts which was great as well. Fast forward to the day of the party... When I arrived at the hotel with my court to start getting ready, Marie and her team were already there setting up and she assured that everything would be just the way I wanted it. After getting ready, I finally saw the finished product and I was completely blown away. Marie and her team can truly transform an empty room into a beautiful venue that is aesthetically appealing. Everything was perfect and Marie and her team were so sweet and easy to talk to. My event was just an intimate luncheon for 30, and I personally did not have a lot of time on my hands to even meet with Marie. However, Marie made it easy enough that we simply exchanged emails, photos, and phone calls, and everything still turned out great! It may not have been a big wedding, but I still felt Marie gave my event the attention it needed. I call it her wow factor, and that's the best way to describe how my guests felt. My event was so tightly timed, and her assistants arrived promptly to set up, as well as to tear down. We literally just showed up at the restaurant and everything was there for us to enjoy. My wife and I were truly blessed and thankful to have Marie plan our wedding and make it the most memorable and overall happiest day of our lives. From our first meeting with her, Marie was friendly and knowledgeable and we could tell she was very experienced in planning all kinds of events. Being the young and working couple we were, we weren't expecting anything close the what we wanted our dream wedding to have, but Marie blew our minds as she made it above and beyond our expectations. She was flexible with her packages customized something to fit our budget and offered us a wide array of suggestions to help us keep the costs as low as we needed from different venues, to DJs, to cake vendors, Marie knew what she was talking about and definitely had her own hook-ups to aid with lowering the cost. There was always great communication between her, my wife, and I (mostly my wife) and she always managed to tend to any and all needs we had and answer all of our questions. At the event itself, Marie made sure everything was handled professionally and elegantly. The set up was beyond breath taking and seemingly all guests in attendance kept commenting with several Ooos and Ahhhs. My mother in particular kept one of the centerpieces for her own dinner table because she simply couldn't resist having such a beautiful display of fresh top notch flowers. In all honesty, as far as the DJ and cake vendors went, we knew that since they weren't as expensive as some of the other vendors out there we weren't expecting much and were just happy to have something that would fit into the budget but Marie's suggestions were phenomenal to say the least. The DJ was great playing songs that caused everyone to swarm to the dance floor and stay the entire night, while the cake was simply scrumptious. Overall, Marie and her team were extremely well organized and handled everything professionally even in regards to silly last minute requests (including helping my wife and I put on my boutonniere). Marie is a wonderful party organizer! I recently just had my debut(Filipino 18th Birthday celebration) this past August; without Marie, my big day certainly wouldn't have gone as smoothly as it did. She is extremely professional, easy to talk to, and has great ideas. I was a bit worried that having a themed debut would be difficult, however, after a few discussions, she was able to coordinate a night that was beyond what I had expected. She and her great assistants made sure that the program for the evening ran perfectly and on time. It was also nice that she gave us options for the setup/decor that would fit in our budget.
