My daughter attended this daycare for six months. Throughout that entire time, she never became comfortable there. She consistently asked me not to make her go, hid behind me at drop-off, and remained fearful and hesitant around staff. Particularly her lead teacher Ms. Angela who is also the Director. She never truly warmed up to her or the environment. She did have some good days but then would be afraid again. Ironically, the only staff member she finally connected with was a new male teacher who had only been there for a couple of weeks, and a couple of the teacher assistants who had also been around only a few weeks. I also noticed changes in my daughter's language during her time there. She began frequently saying phrases like, 'What did I say?' and 'Now what?'--expressions she had never used before."
In July, After the daycare closed for a week, parents returned to find an almost entirely new staff aside from the director, without any prior communication. For a child who was already struggling with anxiety about daycare, that was a significant change. I believe parents should have been informed ahead of time.
When I brought my concerns to the owner Ms.Marie, I expected a respectful conversation. Instead, her first priority was insisting on involving my 4-year-old daughter in the discussion, even after I repeatedly asked to speak privately first. The conversation quickly became argumentative. Ms. Marie repeatedly emphasized that she was the owner and suggested that gave her the authority to speak to my daughter without me present."
Rather than feeling heard, I felt dismissed and talked down to.
After I raised concerns about my daughter's experience, my enrollment was terminated effective immediately. As a parent, it felt like I was dismissed for advocating for my child rather than being met with a genuine effort to address my concerns.
Throughout this process, I did not feel that my daughter's emotional well-being or my concerns as her parent were treated with the empathy they deserved. The way the situation was handled ultimately led me to lose confidence in the daycare.
Every family's experience is different, but I believe parents deserve to know mine before deciding whether to enroll their child.
When I received the termination letter it explained that after an approximate period of 1-2 months we could return once we realized that they were the best choice.
