Everything is immaculate and very nicely decorated. Once we were seated we were provided with an extensive menu of dining options. Everything on the menu looked incredible! The outside is crisp and flaky while the inside is soft and chewy. I asked for chicken as the meat choice. I enjoy how the carrots and cucumbers are sliced in a square straw. I think that provides a nice texture in every bite. The wonton noodle soup was delicious. I've never had soft wontons before. They've always been crispy nibbles on a side plate. I like that in this dish they were part of the soup. I was a little disappointed in the vermicelli noodles though. They were nicely done and very tasty, but there were so many that they clumped together and were difficult to get a bite of without getting a whole mouthful. Also of note were the drinks. I am a huge Bánh mì (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) fan, and plenty of reviews said this place had the best in Salem. I ordered the tofu salad rolls and the Bánh mi with grilled pork. I also ordered a Thai tea. The Thai tea was sweet and creamy, and quite good. The spring rolls had good flavor, but the wrappers were so chewy that it made them a little difficult to eat. The herby freshness I associate with Vietnamese spring rolls was present, but was a bit muted compared to other rolls I have had. The peanut sauce was good. The Bánh mi was a solid sandwich. The bread crust was shatteringly crisp, and the grilled pork was delicious, and its flavors dominated the sandwich. The pickled vegetables didn't seem that pickled, so their taste faded a bit in the background. The jalapeno slices provided a nice heat that came on gradually. This is probably the best bánh mi I've had in Salem since the Saigon Restaurant closed. I honestly would go back for the Thai tea alone! But the food was good, affordable, and the service friendly. I can't speak to their pho, and it might be what they are most known for; it's in their name, after all! A solid place and one I am glad to have tried!

This should complete my reviews of the Keizer area sushi places worth visiting. Cherry's Nagani has the BIGGEST rolls I have seen at just about any sushi place I have been too--Oregon or otherwise. Simply enormous. And they use local ingredients, all the healthiest versions of everything...really well done from a health-conscious perspective. They have great looking soups too (Curry, Chicken Noodle) but it was a hot day so we didn't try them, though we look forward to doing so this winter. The only real issue that I have with the place is Cherry. While she is incredibly nice and she is so excited about every aspect of her restaurant, she really goes overboard with the talking. She notified us of every special thing they do (local ingredients, no GMO/pesticides, organic, etc.), gave us a history of the restaurant and her family, discussed competition in the area, and went through the entire menu explaining everything on it in detail. While all of the information was great to know and very helpful, she stood at the end of our table and talked the entire time we ate. The ENTIRE time. It was not an enjoyable experience. This is the second of the three sushi places I have reviewed where I will only order take-out due to the problems with the sit-down environment. read more

Absolutely love the freshness of the food and excellent atmosphere at Cherry's Nagani in Keizer! Food isn't frozen, but extremely fresh and ingredients are of the highest standard (and I'm no stranger to sushi restaurants). Love Cherry and "Uncle Jack" and feel that I'm going there for a kind-of warm, inviting, family type experience, as they make me feel as if I am part of the family. She showed me a 100 rating from the health inspector, and says she has had that same rating for many years, and you can tell! The time and attention they spend to make their customers happy, translates directly into great, fresh and healthy Japanese food (not just sushi -- try the soups:) and an experience that has me coming back... See you soon guys! read more

Nagani Sushi is my next door neighbor. I send ALL of my customers to them. They opened about the same time I did. I love ALL of their home made soups. They have the freshest sea food around. My clients have become repeat clients of theirs. It's very small and the service is great. Cherry is so friendly and has been doing this for around 30+ years. I have clients who tell me it's the best sushi they have EVER had. My favorite: fish soup with fish, shrimp, rice noodles, spinach and green onions. Fills me up for the whole day. Also the shrimp salad rolls, the keizer rolls and the california rolls are all really good. Oh, and the EGG FLOWER soup, is the best I've EVER had. And just $3. She makes her own broth. No MSG in any of her food. read more

Went to Nagani with a group of friends this weekend at one of my friend's recommendation. It exceeded my expectations, and gave me the excitement you rarely encounter anymore when going out to eat. Cherry was the absolute sweetest person I've encountered in a while, she clearly cares about her customers, and her quality of service. The food was wonderful. I had the opportunity to try the california rolls, Shoyu chicken, and curry soup. Everything I tried was delicious. This is a local gem in a community that is becoming increasingly more food chain oriented. read more

Freshest Sushi in Salem. Cherry makes you feel as if she is serving you right from her kitchen at home. She was in the restaurant business for 25+ years in Honolulu, so her food is a Pacific/Asian Fusion. I find it delightful that even though she is originally from China, she can make anything after living in Hawaii, and is especially good @ Japanese food. Her place is small, and very clean. You will like the experience of her sweet outgoing personality as much as her authentic local food. Give it a try. read more

I have eaten there many times over the years, and I have never had a problem with the taste nor quality of the food. The food has been delicious every single time. Also, I read Alli's comments about the service and food. Quite frankly, that long winded rant was embellished to the highest order. Lunchtime was not super busy, which was a great thing because service was quick. We were seated quickly, and our orders, though not on the conveyor belt, were placed and plated fairly quickly thereafter. Drawing a blank on the exact roll I had, all I know is that it was super TASTY. I had one of their shrimp tempura rolls, and I paired it with a matcha mochi. Now, the matcha mochi was not as great as I've had from other establishments, but I ate it all anyway. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. All in all, it was a good lunch. Price points are REALLY A STEAL here. So, if you are looking for a budget-friendly lunch, then this is the spot for you - especially if you enjoy sushi. They have ready-made, grab-and-go rolls, alongside other items and desserts. They also have a larger menu that you can request various items that may not be on the conveyor belt. Again, service is quick, so if you don't see something that you can immediately grab and eat, then you won't have to wait too long if you have to place an order. Consider visiting them - especially for the conveyor belt experience - which I always find super cool. It's small and quaint with some cute cultural decor. Nothing flashy - but the experience is still cool if you've never experienced grabbing sushi and other dishes from a conveyor belt.
