This pier is really nice but super expensive! For my husband and I to fish we paid $33. We brought our own poles ($10 each to bring your own) plus $3 each to go on the pier and then we bought a $7 thing of bait shrimp. The bathrooms were pretty clean and the gazebo at the end was nice to take a break and get out of the sun. My husband caught a couple small fish. Probably won't be back but was a good experience on vacation. There is also a lot right next to the pier that charges $10 for parking. Pretty much how it goes during crazy tourist season! read more

This is one of the best places to enjoy the beach in the Myrtle Beach area hands down! Most of the time not too crowded and not as much competition from the crowds near the downtown boardwalk with all of the traffic from the hotels and tourists!!! You pay a $3 fee to walk the pier and parking is extra. Also if you want to fish they can set you up rental equip for about $30. Best time is after before high tide. Eat lunch or Dinner at Duffy Street Seafood. If you're interested in the best beach adventure in town, this is the place to be!!! read more

Excellent fishing pier. During peak season be prepared for crowds. The pier is almost 1000 ft long. There is also a nice observation deck at the end of the pier. Rates are also reasonable. read more

Great little pier to walk out and watch people fishing! We saw tons of jellyfish and a gentleman caught a baby shark (which he threw back)! They have a restaurant which seats indoor and outdoor. They serve alcohol too. The gift shop sells souvenirs and bait for fishing, t-shirts, etc! read more

It's odd for me to provide a review for a place I didn't actually visit, but bear with me. We intended to go crabbing at the pier and brought our whole family and our crabbing supplies. The lady at the counter saw what we were planning and told us that the pier was not a good place for crabs and recommended a place on 53rd Avenue very close. She also gave us some crabbing tips! We went to a Cherry Grove Pier to go fishing. Not much people during the winter time. A rod and to fish is around $30 bucks each. It was a super fun experience. We caught a little fish, but let it back into the ocean. Super cute pier that also has a photo op section if you've caught a big one! There's also bathrooms and a gift shop here. It was fun to walk on the pier. However the lady sitting in her car taking parking money $10 was rude. We didn't know if she was someone trying to leave or just sitting there. There was no way to tell if she was the parking lot attendant or not ?! We gave her $10 and said wonder if that lady just took our money or if it was in fact the attendant lol. $3 a person to walk on pier, the nice guy gave me a post card. Our kids went to the ice cream shop and the rude young lady told them they only had butter pecan so they went and got dipping dots. Me and my husband decided to get butter pecan ice cream since that the only kind" they had". Well my husband decided to ask for strawberry and low and behold they had all the flavors suddenly again. Unfortunately, this pier is privately owned and not owned by the city or state. Because of this, the owners can charge 2$ per person (free for the wee ones) to walk out to the end and come back. If you are a fisher, this may be a good deal for you. They do rent poles and have snacks, so it is not completely a wash. A nice view, but if you aren't fishing, that is about it. read more

It's always nice to walk to pier. You get a great views on both sides of the beach and the hotels. Parking is $8 but it pays for your walk on the pier when you give your parking pass to the staff member inside. You will pass fisherman and other visitors on the pier walk through to the end. There's places to sit at the end of the pier at the bottom. Scratch your name and love one's name into the wood to make a memorable experience. read more

Its cheaper to get a non-resident saltwater fishing license for $11 that's good for two weeks and fish any where else than come here and pay $10.50 per person per rod per day plus $8 parking! At that rate it would have cost my son-in-law and I $14.50 per day to fish splitting the parking when $11 got us a whole 2 weeks worth of fishing! Plus the wife and I walked down to the pier from our condo one day and they wanted $3 per person just to walk out on the pier. Uh NO! That used to free but on most piers now its only $1. Save yourself the hassle and expense, For less than the cost of one day on this pier you can enjoy 2 weeks worth of fishing with the non-resident saltwater fishing license! read more

Very enjoyable, in my opinion. I visited the pier this afternoon, for the first time, and it was a positive experience. The staff were personable and available (especially the parking attendant, who patiently explained to me the rules for entry). The pier's outbuilding was clean and comfortable, as was the walkway; the restaurant looked inviting, and though I didn't go in, I quite liked the warm, friendly smells that greeted me as I passed. There were bathrooms available, and the men's was orderly and well-maintained. I was equally pleased with the pier itself, which, with its quiet, laid-back vibe, proved to be an excellent scene for the picnic lunch I'd packed. Out at the circular end, beneath its nice, shady roof, I had a long, leisurely meal, and it could be described as magical. The distance lulled me into feeling as if I was truly on open sea, and, with the help of a good book and my good food, I lost myself in the experience, as so rarely happens in adult life. Even back on proper land, I found that my "sea voyage" stayed with me long afterward, as to lend sparkle to the rest of my day. A magical time, indeed. So, a word of thanks to all the good folks at the Cherry Grove Pier, for enabling my lovely open-sea picnic. I am sincerely grateful for your work and service. read more

If you like to fish, take photos of sunrises and sunsets, or just like gazing out over the ocean, this is the place for you. It cost $3 to get a wristband that lets you come and go from the pier all day. They are open until midnight so you have lots of time. There are built in seats every few feet that are good to sit on or use as a table for your fishing items. There are two stainless steel sinks to wash off your fish while you butcher them. You have to be careful and watch for the fishermen casting their rods. There are bird droppings all over the pier but mostly by the gazebo at the end of the peer. Some boards on the pier and on the benches of the gazebo are little loose so watch where you step. We went to the pier in the evening for sunset. We paid $8 to park in the lot but part of that went toward the driver to get on the pier for free. We left once it was dark but a lot of guys were coming on to the pier for a night of fishing. There is a small gift/bait shop that you have to go through to get on the pier. If you forgot anything that you needed to fish or just want to rent a rod, that's where you can get what you need. I think the view is worth the $3. read more

Cherry grove pier and cafe has been closed since January 1, 2021. They say for renovations but it's really because the management company lease was not renewed. What a waste of prime property. Prince Resorts should at least be honest about why it's closed and when or if it will be open again. I love fishing, have been here since December 2020 and am so disappointed to not be able to fish or even walk out on the pier or enjoy a meal and drink at the cafe. read more

We visited the pier at night and boy, was it a busy place! Its a nice pier, primarily used for fishing. We came out for a quick walk and something to do before heading back to our hotel and we in the minority of people who were not there to fish. There is a $2 fee to go out on the pier which isn't awful, but there are plenty of other fee-free piers around. read more

Nice place to visit, take a stroll, not sure how great the fishing is, didn't have much luck at all in our two days and four tries. I admit, don't know much about pier fishing or salt water fishing, so a lot I need to learn. They charge you two bucks to walk on, sometimes they'll let you slide though. Good thing is, if you fish off the pier, you don't need a fishing license, but then you can't fish on the shore either. A fourteen day out of state fishing license will run you 14 bucks. They do have equipment rental, think we paid 50 bucks to rent two poles up until midnight. There's a 60 buck deposit too. They charge you 9 bucks if you're bringing your own pole. They will allow coolers on the pier, but they inspect them, sometimes, other times they don't, so you might be able to sneak in some beers, otherwise, they'll gouge you for 3 bucks for a domestic. Parking is 8 bucks, but there is public parking pretty close by. Of course, the beach is right there, which is nice if you want to cool down. Once you pay, they'll give you a wrist band if you want to leave and come back. read more

Decided to go fishing and went to cherry grove pier. It's $8 to park which is a little much and it's pricy to fish there. Nothing much was biting but it was a nice atmosphere and not overly crowded. They had ice cream, a bar, and the people were friendly. The only thin bad was it was a little more expensive than some of the other piers. read more

The Cherrygrove pier is a great place to fish it is locally owned and operated. We have been coming here for years to fish it is the best pair in North Myrtle Beach it is well staffed and stocked and they have everything you need to have a great enjoyable time! read more

After reading on their website about the great fishing. We decided the entry fee and pole fee would be worth it. We got their about 2 hours before full tide to get rigged up and ready to go. Their website failed to mention the $5.00 fee just to park. One of our fishing poles was not allowed because our reel was to "BIG" So $50+ dollars later we were set up with 4 poles and 2 crab nets. We rigged up 4 poles with all different bait, bottom fishing ect. We tried everything. 4+ hours later I go in and ask the guy whats up...he tells me.....try about midway down the pier...He said we "Might" could catch something on the bottom but nothing out at the end of the pier. Bottom line is dont waste your money! read more

Do not go here. This is the worst place for fishing. My family and I were visiting for the summer and wanted to find a quiet place to fish. After looking online we found this pier. We arrived at around 1am and discovered that they charged per pole per person to enter the pier. We ended up paying $50+ for 5 of us to enter with 4 poles, a crab net, and bait. When we got inside the place was packed and little children were running back and forth. We were there for no more than 10 minutes and decided to ask for a refund because the environment was too noisy. The manager refused to give us a refund and ignored us as he helped his next customers. It wasn't until he realized that we were standing there taking up space in his store that he offered us passes to come back another time. We took the passes and returned later that afternoon. There were less people this time but we ended up leaving empty handed. The only thing we caught were baby sharks which we couldn't keep. In the end, we paid $50+ for poor service, a tan, and a not so great view of the ocean. read more
