Springmaid Pier is a 1,060-foot-long pier located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is the longest pier in Myrtle Beach and is a popular spot for fishing, sightseeing, and dining. Entrance could be tricky to some folks; it is part of the popular Springmaid Beach Resort property, but it is open to the general public as well. Pier is open year-round and offers a variety of amenities, including sightseeing, fishing, walking, and shopping. Springmaid Pier has been voted "Best of the Beach" many times over the years.   Not looking for catching a fish? $3 per person to gain entry to stroll along and enjoy the pier, more to fish (2 poles per person). No fishing for sharks allowed! Nice long pier and wide so plenty of room to walk or fish without bumping into people (I went during fall so better in summer it gets more crowded). Nice little shop that you go through to buy your tickets to get to the pier. You can go back through or use side gates when you leave the pier. read more

A very nice pier for fishing. Just a few years old now and the new design is great for fishermen. Perfect high benches that also act as an ideal rod holder, all along the pier. $39 will get you everything you need for a day of fishing. Some very nice regulars out there to give you some advice too. Caught and saw so many different species...it was a pretty cool experience! read more

We stayed at the adjacent Doubletree Resort and before we departed, we walked out onto the pier for a look-see. It's a lovely pier ($3 admission if not fishing) that is quite wide and easily walkable. We didn't do the whole thing but went far enough out to get a good view and experience. Quite a lot of people fishing on this Sunday morning. I didn't see a lot of fish but I did see many trying to catch them. The shop at the entrance has bait and loaner fishing rods as well as some Myrtle Beach memorabilia and drinks. There is parking at the adjacent hotel. We really enjoyed our time on the pier. If you are staying at the hilton you can walk on it at no cost. If you are not, you will need to go into the gift shop and pay $3 a person. We walked along it and took in the views. Lots of folks were out fishing the day we were there and were actually catching quite a bit. We saw a couple of pretty big sharks hanging out under the pier. that was cool and also a little bit scary considering we had just been swimming in the water prior to coming over to check out the pier. There were also some jellyfish hanging out near by as well. Several benches to sit on if you would like while you are on it and also a few trash cans available. read more

Springmaid Pier is back! After being wiped out by Hurricane Matthew in 2016, it re-opened and is newly rebuilt as of Independence weekend 2020. It's 1,068 feet long and has adequate seating for fishing as well as multiple lights and fish cleaning stations. It will cost you $3.00 to walk it. Parking is at the Double Tree Hilton next door. Originally built in 1954 it has been battered by Hurricane Hazel in 1954, and Hurricane Hugo in 1989. You can grab a cold beverage and a meal at the Southern Tide Bar & Grille. Very frustrating. Lost $15 worth of 3 oz. triangle weights, hooks and clasps/line with shrimp baited hooks getting caught FOUR times in two hours by casting out about 50+ yards on the left side of pier (facing ocean). Came back into bait shop and told clerk they needed to dredge the bottom of the ocean out 100 yards on each side of the pier. She responded the old destroyed pier and all its debris, knocked over in a past storm, was still under the water out to the left. Two other people were constantly getting bottom rigs stuck tonight near me and not happy. I have fished all up and down the Atlantic Coast off of piers and never had this kind of trouble with my fishing gear. If you use weights and bottom fish I would go elsewhere. I will not be coming back. Plus, paying $13 just to fish until 10 PM is nuts. If you want to walk it or use the restrooms get ready to pay $3. And the same pair of gloves I bought at a WalMart for $4.49 earlier in the day they were asking $12 for. read more

I was so upset today, I was celebrating my sister's and I enjoying a nice walk on the beach, and we stopped here to enjoy a drink and watch the waves. It was such a beautiful day. Our time was totally turned around when I encountered the rudeness of the bartender. She spoke so rudely to me, it spoiled my mood. She could have just changed the whole experience by her expression, I am very disappointed and don't want to go there. Poor service today 3/14/2024 read more
