I brought my dog on the beach down the road and got a lot of dirty looks and apparently beaches aren't dog friendly for some reason. So a lot of people had a lot of dogs here walking around. They had two Porta potties that are not well-maintained. You can walk along the walkway, they have a few regular porch swings and a few kids swings. There wasn't any grass for dogs to go to the bathroom which would've been nice.

This was an important activity as part of our bi-annual entire family vacation. We held up our end. Arrived 15 minutes before departure time of 0700, made our way to the boat, and waited. Watched other vessels very similar depart with full loads to go fishing. Texted and called Keith's number numerous times without success while waiting. Wasted a full 45 minutes until 30 minutes after planned departure time (0730). It wasn't until 0945 that I heard from Keith with the lame excuse of "called the wrong charter group" and an additional excuse of "too windy anyhow". The ocean was too windy, but we were staying inshore. He had nothing when confronted with we texted and called while waiting. A poor showing all the way around.

That being said, I hesitate to post this because I truly do love supporting local businesses. But with tourist season starting, I think it's important to share an honest experience. The first few times we went out with this company, it was amazing. We followed the shrimp boats and not only saw tons of dolphins, but also got a close-up look at the shrimp boats pulling in shrimp and other sea creatures. They would even bring a few things onboard for the kids (and adults) to see before tossing them back. It made the experience feel really unique and memorable. However, ever since the shrimp boat has been out of commission (probably the last year and a half), we honestly haven't seen dolphins the last 3-4 trips. I completely understand there are never guarantees with wildlife, but it has been a little disappointing. It's still a nice boat ride for the cost -- I would just suggest not getting your kids too excited about dolphins and making sure they understand sightings are never guaranteed. Yesterday, we went on the sunset cruise, and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences we've had. I understand the policy is that the cruise runs rain or shine, but the ocean conditions were rough enough that I truly don't think they should have taken people out. There were young children onboard, people getting sick, and several passengers who were visibly scared as we went through large swells offshore. As someone who has been on this boat many times, even I was uncomfortable. If it had been my first trip, I honestly would have been terrified. Considering the boat had already gone out multiple times earlier that day, I feel like they should have recognized the conditions were not ideal -- especially knowing there was little chance of seeing dolphins in waters that rough. I just think better judgment should have been used. If you're visiting for a family vacation, I would strongly recommend checking ocean conditions beforehand, because I'm not sure cancellations are considered unless absolutely necessary.

One of the first things I did was purchase an annual fishing pass at this pier. What I've found since is a very friendly group of people who enjoy the opportunity to live and work by the ocean. So far every interaction with staff is nothing but friendly and welcoming. I take a chair, a cooler, and a fishing pole and spend mornings relaxing over the water. It would take a lot of this to hurt a man. I haven't tried the food so can't comment on it. This is a family owned business. It's not public so it's not free. Duh. Without an annual pass It costs $10 to fish and $1 to walk. I can't see where that is out of anyone's reach and it helps keep the pier open and clean. Highly recommend you swing by and check it out. If you are pleasant and friendly you will receive the same in kind. Every time.

No. But it was absolutely worth it, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. There was a bit of miscommunication during booking -- the woman who took our reservation over the phone didn't pass along all the details correctly. When we arrived, the man behind the check-in booth was there, but he seemed to be resting because we had to ask one of the deckhands to assist us at first. Once we got his attention, he called the woman who handled our reservation and cleared everything up immediately. He wasn't the friendliest older gentleman, but he got the job done and made sure we were set to go. Once on board, Captain Mike and the two deckhands (whose names I wish I could remember) made the experience unforgettable. They were professional, upbeat, and clearly knew their stuff. There were a few moments when I thought we might be getting a little too close to other boats -- but that's part of the thrill of being out on the water. When you've got a capable captain who knows how to handle his vessel, you learn to just trust the process and enjoy the ride. And let me tell you -- we saw dolphins. Plenty of them. Pods swimming right alongside the boat, playing in the wake, even a few that surfaced close enough to make everyone on deck gasp and cheer. It was one of those surreal, peaceful experiences that make you forget about everything else for a while. Maybe that's why some other reviewers didn't have the same reaction -- perhaps they went on a slower day. But for us, it was nothing short of magical. We only spent about 30 minutes in the open sea watching the dolphins, but the hour-long ride to and from the viewing area was just as enjoyable. The sea breeze, the ocean views, the sounds of the waves -- all of it came together for a perfect outing. The park has clean restrooms, a picnic pavilion and a playground area as well. It is popular with people for walking their dogs but it was never crowded with people or dogs when we were there. There is an observation walkway/dock over the water and a boat/fishing dock that rises and falls with the tide. There were a few fishermen using the dock as well as fishing from the Intracoastal Waterway bank each time we visited. There is a small parking lot with some additional parking nearby. There was plenty of parking when we visited.
