The park is only open about three months out of the year. The result is seasonal employees that don't care about doing any good at their jobs. Combine that with the ridiculous prices (No first responder/ government/ or even local discount, only military and senior citizens) and it makes for an extremely mediocre experience. This place is a tourist trap- myself and half a dozen other people waited over half an hour for a terrible, overpriced slice of pizza. You're better off finding a pool at a resort/ air BNB with a water slide. The only redeeming quality was the assortment of slides, however, many of them were out of service. (On a Saturday afternoon, no less.)

Stop by from out of town with the family, park is small and shaded seats are very limited. We got here when the park open around 11:30 and we were able to find nice shade! Other no so lucky so be aware of the time you come in. They charge 40 dollars for adults, they do have military discount so be sure to ask. Food is very expensive 13 dollars for a 5 pc chicken tender meal with fries and soda, funnel cakes are garbage, waste of moneya! They also say no drinks allowed but I saw people coming in with outside drinks , i will at least bring some water, i didn't try but saw many allowed to bring in at least one drink.

Month of May is mostly weekends only. Don't let weather deter you! We saw guards in training and walked to the top of any slide we wanted! Our guy is 7, and 44" tall. We rode everything but the 48" single tubes. Going in off peak is key. Had a great day.

The good is that it wasn't too crowded on this Sunday in August. We got there soon after opening and there was no line to get in. The wave pool was disappointing as the waves were like gentle to non existent. The lazy river was ok but have been to better. The Arooba tuba looked like a giant toilet bowl and was decent. Didn't partake of food but my companions did. After waiting on line for 15 min, was told they ran out of hot dogs. They do have adult beverages that were a bit pricey but pretty good drinks. As storms were in the area, they shut down all the slides but kept pools open. Was told if lightning strikes within 10 miles, all shuts down. Was a good hot day to enjoy cooling off, def bring water shoes or sandals as the pavement gets pretty hot. They need more shaded areas to get out of sun for awhile.

This is a mixed bag of reviews and a lot of people hating on Myrtle Waves. Is it the best water park I've been to? No. Did I have a great time? Absolutely! Here's how it went down. I hadn't been for years as I no longer live in the area, but my nieces and nephews have been season ticket holders for years. This year they invited me to join them for a promotion they run in August where you can bring a friend on a season pass... Uncle Scott is in like Flynn. Being the Funcle that I am, the kids immediately knew I'd be down for hitting the biggest and worst slides in the park right off the rip. They took me straight to the Rockin Ray. Picture a giant stingray with its wings perched mid-air in water flight essentially creating a giant half pipe. This double rider tube slide is a favorite of my nephew and usually, his sis is too much of a chicken to ride. I gotta say, this slide was more than I bargained for, that initial drop leaves your stomach at the top of the stairs and as you launch up to the top, your brain is pretty sure you're going straight over the edge plummeting to your death. Fortunately, that doesn't happen... often. The rest of the day we hit countless slides, the lazy river, wave pool, and even had lunch in the food court. I thought the prices were reasonable, the staff were chill instead of being on a lifeguard power trip, and the lines were pretty short too. We all had a blast and I can say I hope they invite me back next year!

First visit here while in the Myrtle Beach area. It was okay. Cool locker areas. There were multiple concession stands on the premises. However only about 3 open. Due to us not wanting to remove shirts and water shoes, we were only able to utilize the pool and lazy river.

The staff there was not one single person that we ran into that was nice not a single one everyone was grumpy and upset and rude especially in the arcade. The girl they have working the ticket booth was swearing while she was on the phone with her friend while she was working. Do not get the refillable cups because that machine doesn't work most of the time and when you ask them to fill it up because that one's not working they get really grumpy with you. The room was very outdated we were in building one and it was like going back in time. Just came from the breakers so we should have stayed there we will never go back here. The stains on the couch and the fact that there is no outlets besides underneath the very short nightstand. The door to the balcony feels like it's going to fall apart. The bathroom is very strange you cannot really close to the door unless you're like in the bathtub. Now let's get to the pools again these people are very rude. The fact that you have to walk all the way over to get the towels and then bring them back where they're going to charge you $5 even though you don't get to really dry off is crazy now I know why people brought their towels. The boys did enjoy the water slide however we did not enjoy all the little puddles to get into the water park it just felt like something wasn't draining correctly so you're stepping into gross water. The pools were okay, it's a lot of trying to figure out where to go and what is a hot tub and what is not? The lazy river is very shallow and I know you have to be in a tube and that's fine but I don't like to lay in a tube I just like to like float in a tube while being in it but I couldn't do that because I'm too tall. I mean the elevators took forever there wasn't one thing we liked about this hotel. Arcade is a complete rip off, I would never be back! Please avoid

Then there's a $40 incidental fee or a $250.00 hold on my credit card, which could take up to 7 days to remove. The elevators in the second tower are just disgusting with all the construction going on. The view from my oceanfront balcony room is two ropes hanging from above, and there's orange fencing and cones everywhere below near the pools. To top it all off, the lady at the front desk had a nasty attitude. There are many other nicer and friendlier resorts in Myrtle Beach- I suggest trying one of those. This will be our last trip to Crown Reef.

Upon arrival you will notice that there is a sizable parking lot for those who are here for this section only and also bathrooms which is always a plus. There is a small hut where folks check in and purchase the package they wish to experience and its usually slots of time that can be long or short. There is a nice lake with several obstacles set up for patrons to climb up and jump off of into the lake and there is even a part that will pull you around the lake on a cable that was attached to some kind of track . That looked like fun but its clearly for a certain level of adventurer. The area looked clean and kept up and there are plenty of trees to hide under when the sun is blazing up above you. This will be important for those that aren't enjoying the water. Now while I am doing this after not trying and was just an observer, I can admit that I don't think that I ever had any interest in visiting a water park. An amusement park with a couple of water attractions are fine but not one that is dedicated to it in full. I think this is a great idea for any visitors to the region with kids of a certain age to give them something to do for a few hours so if you're heading down there do check their prices and then hit one of the many awesome buffets that MB offers.
