Showed up five minutes late to a toddler parent dance class. No one there. I called multiple times left messages. Go to the coffee shop next door thinking we had the time wrong. Go back an hr later a Stephanie tells us " you didn't show and I had to get to the bank before my next class". Apparently we were the only ones.. little one was so sad.. we went back the next weeek as my daughter was so into It. Stephanie didn't introduce herself, ask my daughter's name or introduce others. read more

Kids truly grow up here. Dancers are supported year after year, and seniors are celebrated in thoughtful, meaningful ways that honor their commitment and growth--setting an example for younger dancers coming up behind them. The studio is intentional about maintaining a safe, respectful environment. Not every studio is the right fit for every family, and that's okay. When my granddaughter first started at this studio, we had a wonderful experience. Her original teacher was knowledgeable, professional, and held a degree in education. The curriculum was age-appropriate and developmentally sound, and our granddaughter absolutely adored her. At that time, recitals were high quality: the dancers were well trained, the choreography was impressive, and the shows were something to be proud of. The confidence our granddaughter showed on stage was incredible and we always admired how polished and professional the "older girls" looked on stage. It really seemed like a great place for our little girl to grow up. Unfortunately, over the past year this studio has gone drastically downhill. We've tried to stick it out in hopes that things would return to how they once were but we have been constantly disappointed. Her experienced teacher is no longer there, and now her classes are frequently taught (or "subbed") by 14-year-old students with no childcare or teaching experience. The studio owner, Stefanie, is often absent, seemingly always on vacation, leaving classes with no consistency. Many days the "teachers" are on their phones or ignoring the children altogether. As a result, my granddaughter is not learning anything new and is missing the close connection with her instructor that she once had. The most recent recital was extremely upsetting. The dances were disorganized and chaotic on stage. My granddaughter was embarrassed because she barely knew her routine - a direct result of inconsistent instruction and lack of training. To make matters worse, the studio owner and her assistant were aggressive and rude throughout the show. We witnessed children being yanked around on stage and heard Stefanie screaming at kids from behind the curtain. We also saw staff being snapped at and treated poorly. Everyone working there looked miserable, which likely explains why they cannot retain qualified teachers and instead rely on teenagers. On top of all of this, the prices are outrageously high for such a low-quality experience. Other dance studios in the area with similar programs are half of the price and have qualified instructors. Families are paying hundreds of dollars for cheaply made costumes (that appear to be from sites like Temu) that are already falling apart. After this recital, our family cannot continue here. We will be finding a studio that values professionalism, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and the emotional well-being of the children in their care. read more

Parent warning: We left Cherry Creek Dance because the training and environment were not healthy for our daughter. The instruction lacked consistency and constructive guidance, and over time it had a noticeable negative impact on her confidence and overall well-being. It took months after leaving for her to recover from the experience. A recent interaction confirmed our concerns. Even though she is a former student and still a minor, she received a direct message from the studio head that was unnecessarily stern and intimidating, referencing performance access and outside institutions despite no attempt to attend a private event. This type of communication should have been handled professionally and through a parent. Based on our experience, I would encourage families to look closely at both the training approach and the studio's communication practices before enrolling. The environment may not be as supportive or developmentally appropriate as it appears from the outside. read more

I'm not much of a big reviewer but felt compelled to write about the experiences that I've had with my daughter at cherry creek dance. She's been there for almost 2 years, starting when she was barely 3. We have had nothing but absolutely overwhelmingly positive experiences from top to bottom. The teachers have all been great, very engaged and good at connecting with the kids. You can tell they want to be there and love what they do. My daughter's confidence has skyrocketed, she has found a passion and I've found her to be more respectful, polite and driven. She has spent a lot of time with the older girls in the company and she has learned so much empathy and kindness from them. They all help her feel welcome and secure and she's more excited to goto dance than a playground. It absolutely is a little family. She had a bunch of dances in the recent recital and she had so much fun and can't stop talking about it. The owner Stephanie cares so much about the kids and goes out of her way to protect them and keep them safe. We've done little camps, parents nights and a whole bunch of other activities with her and it's just refreshing to see how hard she works to foster learning in a loving, non-intimidating environment. I'm excited to drop our daughter off there for as long as she is loving it but I have no doubt we will be there a very long time. I can't imagine that there is a better place for little ones to be introduced to dance in a non-competitive, uplifting, positive, drama-free space. read more

As a former dancer I spent a lot of time researching studios in the area to find the right fit for my son to take his first dance classes. This is the right studio! They are professional and friendly and just overall a wonderful studio. My son loved his classes and they took all the measures necessary to keep the kids safe during the pandemic. They even had a fantastic recital at the end of his season and he loved every second of it. We will be back for the next season for sure! read more

This place is amazing! Atmosphere: 10 - although some of the rooms upstairs are small & creaky and it makes you feel like you're studying in Paris in a Degas painting. It's charming & I love it! Staff: 10 - EVERYONE is SO FRIENDLY. I felt welcomed immediately into the dance family. I was so nervous about dancing (at over 100 lbs overweight) and was worried I'd be shunned. However, they're open and welcoming and accomodating. Price: 10 - I'm taking 3 classes a week and only paying $110 or so a month. Each class is an hour long. It's such a deal! Variety: 10 - there are so many options for adult classes which is so rare for a studio. adults aren't exactly money makers. i'm taking broadway tap, hip hop & jazz. i love them all for different reasons and look forward to every class. Instructors: 10 - not only friendly but knowledgeable. i'll admit that i haven't read their bios, but apparently each is or has been a professional dancer. if you're thinking about dancing, go here! it's awesome! read more

This studio is as committed to their dancers as they expect their dancers to be to them. Real dance studios should challenge their dancers to expect more for their bodies than the day before and try harder everyday, and these instructors get that from these young dancers. It's a little tight quarters in the lobby and in some studios but I think that makes you feel special. If you're in there you better work :) read more

I really don't like this studio. Of all the studios I've used, this one is the worst. Some of the staff members (and even the owner) have been pretty rude and passive aggressive. The bathroom is gross. The floors are dirty. Kind of sad because it has the potential to be an awesome place. The only reason I've continued go here is because the studio I used to go to closed down. I think they should really make more of an effort to treat their customers with respect and keep their facilities clean...then I would be fine using this studio. read more

We have been looking for a new studio for my 3 year old and tried a class here but we won't continue. It's a cute space, more parking than I expected for cherry creek, and I can tell they have their hands full trying to manage several classes running through a very small storefront. However- this was our first class, and as a parent I was not allowed to meet the teachers, go into or even see the studio, or observe at all. They will literally take kids as young as two out of your arms into a space neither you nor your toddler have ever seen, with people you have never met... and they believe crying is normal. When I asked about being able to observe, the staff person was curt and lacked understanding/sympathy. It was shocking to me that any establishment thinks they can take a toddler into the unknown and be issued absolutely blank trust with unknown adults. read more

Lee Prosenjak "The guy who does everything but teach dance" should be nicknamed "the guy who does everything but teach dance and honor his business commitments to his clients". I am a tour operator and attempted to use Cherry Creek Dance studio for a one hour private dance lesson. The instructor (allegedly) showed up 25 minutes late for a one hour dance lesson. Lee not only said I was wrong (he said someone showed up to teach at 10:45am). I'm not sure who in the world lies to customers about their business besides Lee, but it's worth noting. Lee and CCD wouldn't refund my private dance lesson when THEY didn't show up to provide the services. Imagine showing up with a client for a new business you are operating, and expect to count on the reliability of a business like Cherry Creek Dance. And then imagine Cherry Creek Dance doesn't show up to open the store until 10 minutes after your private dance lesson begins. Then 25 minutes later, your instructor is not there and the person who opened the studio has no answers. Then imagine you paid $150 for this 'experience' and Lee would only refund $75 because the customer is always.... "half wrong"? American Express will refund this on my behalf, and I'll be writing to the Better Business Bureau because of how disgusted I am with the service. Hopefully you all don't make the same mistake. read more

I'm very unimpressed with this dance studio. The owner, who is also a teacher there, is rude. She made me feel absolutely horrible for reaching out to her. I've only spoken to her once since my child was enrolled. And the one time We spoke (I called to ask how my child was doing in her classroom) she was incredibly short and unhelpful. In fact when I said, " Hi, how are you?" She replied, " Busy! What's up?" Like I was a mere peasant infringing upon her precious time. Remember, this was my FIRST time really talking to her and this is how she spoke to me?!...yikes! Like, lady we are all busy especially as parents. I was really taken aback. But I should have known that my experience with this studio would most likely be unpleasant considering the fact that the first day I came in to register my child, the woman at the front desk told me that my mom stopped by earlier that day to inquire about enrolling my daughter. I had no idea what this woman was talking about considering my mother lives in a completely different state. Then it dawned on me (and she sort of hinted ) that the potential customer was Black. She assumed that the Black person that came in earlier that day to inquire about her child/grandchild was related to ME because I'm also a person of color. Ha! It was absolutely ridiculous. Even though she tried to explain her mistake away I simply answered no, we are not related. Not to mention, if you are ethic (your child has an ethnic name), your child's name will most likely be mispronounced repeatedly. Which, maybe the first/second/even third time is understandable, but it kept happening even though I submitted proper pronunciation to them for this very short name. And they will assume that you are pissed or causing trouble when you correct them. I was never angry. The only reason I corrected them (as politely as I could is because my young child won't know you are talking to her if you say her name completely wrong.) They were calling my child an entirely different name so she would just stand there looking around wondering who the hell they were addressing. This studio is NOT ready to handle POC. So just be aware. I would not encourage (POC) families to join this studio. They will take your money, but aren't really ready to embrace diversity. I'm truly saddened by this very unfortunate experience. read more

My 5-year-old daughter really likes the classes and her instructor is wonderful. My complaint lies solely in the facilities - they are deplorable. The bathrooms are constantly backing up and, thus, always smell horribly. The water fountain has been out of order for at least a month and even has handwritten signs from the kids asking for them to be fixed because they are thirsty after class. The basement where parents can watch live feeds of the studios and classes is disgusting and depressing. The pick-up process is clunky because of the layout of the building - this I realize cannot really be fixed without a total overhaul. I really like the staff and my daughter likes her class, but I don't know if we'll be staying after the month we've padi for already. If CCDance would pay more attention to these problems, we would definitely stay for the classes. read more

Just tried the Teen/Adult hip hop class last night. Let me say, I have never felt more welcomed and like family the way Cherry Creek Dance treated me. By the end of my class, everyone knew my name and encouraged me to return. My teacher was knowledgable and so fun. I have danced my whole life and was just looking for a studio to start at in Denver; I am lucky I found this place on my first try because I will not have to look any further. I'm writing this as an almost 30 year old getting back into ballet after a 20 year hiatus (and no it's not like riding a bicycle). Even though it's extremely challenging and can be frustrating at times, it's still very rewarding! I started out taking class once a week with Natalie for adult beginning ballet and loved it so much I'm now taking it with Andrew as well. I love both of them, even though they do have different teaching styles, but both are very good! If you're considering renewing an old passion for dance, I think this is a great studio to do it at. I first visited this studio when I purchased a punch card for classes on Living Social and I've continued dancing with them now on a regular weekly schedule. I studied ballet for years as a kid and wanted to get back into it for a workout and for the love of movement and dance. The beginner/intermediate classes for adults cater to a group of individuals with various levels of experience but is still a challenge for those looking for one. I love the attention to form and technique that is ballet but also the fun and approachable teaching style that Andrew brings to the studio. I get a great workout, I am challenged to stand taller and push just a little more, and I'm loving the artistic expression I get to enjoy while dancing. read more

My oldest daughter started her time at Cherry Creek Dance in the tap/ballet combo class. She loved it from the start. Over two years later, she's traded in her tap shoes to add jazz and hip hop classes to a roster that still includes ballet. She has so much fun! Her baby sister is now in that combo class, and will hopefully come to love dance as much as her big sister does. Their teachers have without exception, been stellar. The office staff is friendly, headed by Lee, one of the owners. The teachers and other staff are always friendly, approachable, and eager to help. Parking can be a headache once in awhile, but if you arrive early enough, you should be able to nab a spot. The office can get quite congested during drop-off and pick-up times, particularly during the most popular late afternoon slots. Parents can view their little dancer on the monitors in the viewing room, if they would like. Alternatively, there is a Starbucks conveniently located right across the street and the neighborhood is great for walking and shopping. They offer two recitals a year, participation optional. The dance they spend all season learning is the one that they would be performing on stage. During the season, each class travels to other classes in the studio to perform for those classes. It's invaluable experience that gets kids used to the idea of dancing in front of other people. My somewhat shy six year-old has never had any issues with performing on stage during the recitals, which I credit to these little performance sessions at the studio. Clothing, shoes, and accessories can be purchased in the store, which is quite convenient when your daughter manages to rip her tights or her foot manages to grow seemingly overnight. I give the parent/tot class 1 star because I sincerely enjoyed meeting other moms and children. The instructor and founder of Cherry Creek Dance, Stephanie, should NOT be teaching young children. She has zero patience, and I had a strange feeling about her from the beginning. There have been multiple times over the last few weeks when I have felt she is not only impatient, but annoyed by the little girls. The class starts at age 16 months so it surprised me that someone with such low tolerance was teaching the class. She gets especially agitated when the little ones fuss. Not something that any of us enjoy, but that is completely understandable in a group of girls this young. 3 weeks ago I witnessed an incident where I felt Stephanie shoved a little girl away from the mat where we were practicing rolling. The little girl fell to the ground and immediately Stephanie started back peddling and said something along the lines of 'Oh sorry sweetie, did you trip?'. That moment stuck with me. In fact, I mentioned it to my mother and husband that night. I continued to attend the classes bc my daughter loves them, and I felt she was safe with my supervision. However, today was the last straw. My daughter is very young and loves the class, but she rarely wants to sit and stretch and she has trouble waiting her turn. After the usual exercise of rolling on the mat, my daughter stood up and Stephanie asked her to walk back over to me. My daughter hesitated for one second, and Stephanie shoved her. My daughter fell to her knees and her hands. She was not injured bc she was on the mat. As I previously witnessed, Stephanie immediately tried to cover up the incident by saying something like, 'Sorry sweetie, are you ok? Did you trip? Did you get going too fast?'. NO. Stephanie was annoyed and lost control and pushed my daughter out of the way and then of course realized that was wrong. We will not be going back to CCD. If you want your young child to be exposed to dance AND have fun in a safe environment, do not go here. read more

We have absolutely loved our time at Cherry Creek Dance. My daughter started there when she was two only taking one class per week. Four years later, she is hooked. She dances three days a week and has decided that dance is her sport of choice. The teachers are fabulous and have encourage my daughter to do things that I never thought possible of someone her age. I love that the studio is primarily a performing studio and does not seem to focus on competition. I also love that they set expectations high for their dancers and enforce a strict code of conduct for those who dance in the company. The studio lobby can sometimes get congested, but the kids seem to have it all figured out. If you haven't tried CCD, do so right away. read more

There aren't words to express how happy I am with the amazing start my daughter has had with Cherry Creek Dance. I'm new to Denver but not new to dance. I danced for over a decade as young woman, it was the best time of my life and after this current foot injury heals I will start the adult classes offered...I digress!! The base for ballet, that began what I feel will be years of dance for my daughter, was simply top notch. Being able to watch her progress on the screens in the parent waiting area is fun and allows me to see her progress. We added tap to her routine this season and hip hop will not be far behind. For summer. The Winter Recital proved to me that this school is pumping out dancers that will get college scholarships and opportunities others will not. Not to mention the staff, friendly and informative!!! I feel lucky to have done my research as a former dancer to find this school but if you're a parent without any dance history, look no further. Over 6 hours of dance practice every other Saturday is way to much for a young child. The front desk staff gossips and seem very disorganized. The facility is in terrible condition with being very unorganized, dirty, and run down. The bathrooms and drinking fountains are gross. I absolutely must share what a delightful experience it was to buy dance shoes here! I must admit to being a little unnerved by the many people in the front room and the line waiting to speak with a man behind the counter. But once it was my turn (maybe 10 minutes later), my daughter and I were treated like we were the only people in the room. Lee listened to what she needed, made suggestions, gave her plenty of options to choose from along with just enough gentle (and knowledgeable) advice! We walked out with the perfect shoe selection AND his offer to come to my daughters' high school if more than four students needed to be fitted for shoes! Almost too good to be true. Great quality products, attentive and friendly and intelligent customer service! He even gave us suggestions for great places to eat dinner. It's a bit of a haul from Parker, but SO worth the drive! read more

The recital isn't your typical "let's just get through this night" - these kids are super talented and it was genuinely entertaining. We've been a part of CCD for 6 years, since my daughter was 3. My daughter is now 9 and she loves her CCD dance instructors and has grown to love ballet. She has become committed to the practice and was planning to dance in the Nutcracker this weekend. She's been rehearsing for months and we had plans for family and friends to attend. I apparently missed a note that I was supposed to pull her out of school for a rehearsal at the Paramount the day before. I truly had no idea and even attended the info session the night before but missed the very beginning where that was covered. I totally take responsibility. The heartbreaking part is that instead of calling me earlier in the day, the studio called at 3pm. They told me it was too late and my daughter couldn't dance in a performance she'd been working on for months. She'd been replaced by another dancer. Been replaced, without even a curtesy call before replacing her but only after the fact. To say she was devastated is an understatement. Stephanie finally called me and shouted in my ear about how busy she is and when I tried to reason and fix it for my daughter she just said it was all my fault. I get it. Lesson learned. However, the lack of sensitivity for a child that loves her and her studio was shocking. I understand stress and balancing many things, I do it every day but to not show a committed and loving child more respect and care makes it just too heartbreaking to ever return. I saw a side of Stephanie that was disturbingly cold and ruthless. My child is a human not just another source of income and Stephanie made it feel like she was just the latter. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Cherry Creek Dance. If you're looking for a fantastic dance studio, this is the place! They offer anything from hip-hop, lyrical, ballet, tap, jazz, break dancing, modern, tumbling, musical theatre, production, etc. I am so grateful we chose CCD. The recital was amazing. Please stay to watch your child's dance lessons. We took my daughter for the first time and had an inappropriate experience with the owner (a teacher), who grabbed her face and shook it when she was too shy to tell her her name, and when she didn't respond, grabbed her by the leg to look at her name (written on the bottom of her shoe). She took other children by the arms (not by the hand, but grabbed them by the upper arms like rag dolls), and pulled them to their spots and to seated positions. She separated my shy child from her friends (the teacher said she always does this so they will concentrate), and my daughter walked away crying. It was a heartbreaking experience. I spoke with the teacher afterward, who was apologetic and said it was all more harmless than it looked, but it's impossible to explain to a timid 5 year old who is learning about body safety and being "the boss of your own body" that it's okay for a teacher to grab and shake your face. It seemed like the teacher was just stressed by the large class of 4-5 year olds crammed into a small noisy studio, but, regardless, if you're in to play-based learning, this is probably not the studio for you. Please stay to watch your child's lessons to make sure you're not unpleasantly surprised to find out what's going on during his/her classes - I'm so glad I stayed to watch.... read more

My daughter has been taking the combo class on and off for a little over a year (we usually break for soccer), and while I really enjoy the structure of what they teach the owner lady does make me a bit nervous. There is never a consistent teacher for the class and anytime the owner lady teaches the class I just sit and watch the screen with anxiety. She does seem a bit more aggressive with the children, the way she grabs them, tosses their shoes at them, pushes them to move along, etc. (She seems to lack patience)I just sit there waiting for her to do something to MY daughter that I might get upset about. The children definitely listen to her and she definitely knows what she's doing as far as dance goes however. We tried the Colorado Ballet co for my daughter's age group and there wasn't much learning about dance going on just frilly baton ribbon waving. read more

We've been dancing here for several months and love it! The owners and staff are dedicated, friendly and the curriculum for 2-3 year olds is impressive. They are the only studio in town that I've found to take two year olds AND teach dance technique (vs a parent/tot class or creative movement; fine programs, but not what we are looking for). Their make up policy is very generous, they have a huge parking lot and sell beautiful dance gear and cheap snacks for after class. Daughter gets an hour of class, I get to hang out and enjoy adult conversation. #winwin read more

Just moved from NYC and Cherry Creek Dance by far has the best classes in Denver. I would compare them to Steps or Broadway Dance Center. The staff is amazing and very welcoming. Incredible adult program and fantastic for the kiddos too. After seeing so many teaching styles in my life, Cherry Creek Dance clearly has a wonderful vision for dancers of all ages and abilities. read more
