I have been a customer for years and I have special ordered cakes and cookies from Cheri's and always been happy. So when my husband and I were planning a small wedding ceremony we decided to go with Cheri's. I ordered a cake and discussed what I wanted. On picking up the cake my husband took pictures before leaving the bakery. I noticed that the cake was bubbling in the picture and leaning. He had already picked it up and transported it directly to the restaurant cooler before sending me the picture and it was my wedding day and I had no time to address it. (Cheri's won't deliver unless you spend over $400 on a cake). When we went to cut the cake we discovered that it was splitting apart at the layers. It was cracked and when we cut the cake it fell apart. The top layer was supposed to be vanilla and the bottom raspberry and they switched the cake layers. They also broke my cake topper! I went into the store to talk with them about it. I'm holding a second large wedding next year and had originally planned to purchase several cakes for that event. When I came in and showed them pictures and explained what happened they kept saying that it must have been something I did and that has never happened before. I showed them the pictures of it bubbling at the store and they said it was just a shadow on the picture. Really?! A shadow in the EXACT location where it broke apart. A quick google search shows that the reason it would happen is because it was not cooled enough before frosting. I wish I had read the previous reviews because it seems to be a trend of quickly making things in a subpar manner. I will not be using this bakery continuing forward and I would suggest reading reviews before making the same mistake I did. read more

I never leave bad reviews and usually look past things. Don't use them if there are other options available to you! I Called to get a specific cake they said they were making one anyway and to call at a specific time to make sure its done and then I could come pick it up. This specific time came and went and they never answered the phone- 5 phone calls in 30 minutes. Their VM does not even have an option to leave a message. Another business came through with what I needed so all is not lost just aggravated with the experience. read more

They have the best cakes and cookies I've ever had. The cakes are really moist, and they put plenty of amazing icing on them. They make some really amazing looking cakes that even my cousin that works in a New York City bakery is impressed. We've been going there for about 10 years and everytime there was a special occasion we would get a cake. BUT the last few years I've been disappointed. The staff hasn't always been the friendliest. I've had a couple inncidents when I ordered a cake and the person working there just jotted it down like they could of cared less if it would turn out how I asked. One cake I got for my husband looked nothing like how I ordered it. I had to wait for them to fix it, which made us late for our plans and it still didn't look good, but they gave it to me for free. There was another time where I was trying to order a cake and when I was telling them what I wanted a girl told me how they couldn't do stuff like that when I had already had one done like that. The most recent cake was a jewelry box cake that my husband had made and they left out the fact that the top was Styrofoam. So, some people didn't get cake because we thought we had more cake than we did. But when we've called and complained they've always made it right. By giving us the cake for free or giving a discount, which is awesome. I feel bad only leaving 4 stars because this place definitely has good cakes. I ordered half a sheet cake for my friend's son and boyfriends birthday. One side was decorated lighting McQueen and the other side was decorated with sports stuff my boyfriend likes. There were 3 fondant pictures also on it. The cake was over $100 which was definitely NOT worth the money. The cake tasted okay, but I was really disappointed in the decoration. The cakes are not only delicious, but if you give them some creative freedom and point them in a direction of the general theme for the cake - you get artwork! I'm finding that the better bakeries in town have a hook. With Twitzed Confections, it's the baklava. Bliss-fulness has their rubelach. Cheri's doesn't have the impossible-to-spell name as the other guys, but they have their own feather in their cap with their whoopie pies. The cream filling in said pies may be more than reminiscent to the Little Debbie versions, but the difference is made by the soft and moist chocolate cakes that sandwich it. Your mileage may vary with some of the other unique sweets on offer. Red Velvet "bites" - little rounds of cake topped with a swirl of frosting are a cheap and pleasant way to satisfy a sweet tooth. The strawberry cheesecake brownie and banana cake square, on the other hand, were more similar in construction than you may have expected due to each topped with the same thick layer of cream cheese frosting. For as much as J Raes struggled finding the balance between a malleable cookie frosting and one that didn't contain enough gelatin to render it the texture of Play-Doh, Cheri's shows them how its done with an admittedly less complex but very pretty decorative cookies. My sample was of an autumn leaf, and between the clean design and gradient coloring, it was almost too good-looking to eat. There were a few types of cupcakes, if those are still your thing, and the wedding cakes seem like a big part of their business. If they decorate their cakes like they do their cookies, I'm sold, though I should admittedly be focusing my time on finding someone with whom to share the cake before settling on the baker. read more

Extremely disappointed. I ordered a cake for my husband's retirement from the Air Force. I was very specific on what I wanted including details, colors, etc. I sent pictures of what I wanted and was told the colors would be EXACTLY what I requested. The American flag was coral pink rather than crimson red that I asked for and what the picture showed that I emailed. I spoke to the owner Cheri and her remark was "I'm sorry you see it as a different red than I do". TERRIBLE customer service. I would never recommend this bakery! read more

I am REALLY disappointed in Cheri's. After using them for years, from weddings to funerals, I finally splurged on an expensive "Lego" cake for my son's 7th birthday. The colors I requested were not used, and the "street" I asked for wasn't included. We paid almost 60.00 for the cake, and the decorations were what we have come to expect on a Walmart or target cake. After calling and leaving a voicemail asking for someone to return my call, I still have not gotten a return call from over a week ago. I would not recommend them to anyone at this point because of poor customer service. read more

So disappointing! I ordered a birthday cake from here and the smash cake is free with the cake order. I had no problem ordering and customer service wasn't bad. The problem was the cake, it tasted like a plain Wal-Mart cake and way too much frosting. The way it was decorated was sort-of cute but the lettering was done in puffy-looking frosting which was hard to read. Definitely not worth the money :( read more

I was very disappointed with this bakery. My family has been ordering from here for the longest time, so we recently used them to make the cupcake tower for a family wedding. Although, the cupcakes were great to eat, the presentation was terrible. When we showed up to the reception all of the cupcakes were still in the box, and the stand was not even put together. When we later asked why it wasn't put together, we were told we had to pay extra for that. Honestly, you would think that would just be included in the price but regardless if we had been told this, we would have most definitely paid for it. Also, the so called "manager" of the bakery did not seem to care and wasn't very apologetic. We will definitely not be going to their bakery anymore. read more

I asked for the cake with nuts so she pulled one out of the freezer got home and had a total of 3 nut crumbs and the frosting left grease on my lips. We stopped ordering cakes from cheri years ago. My mother went into this bakery ordering a cake for my baby shower. First off they tell us we have to pick up the cake a whole day before the shower. Second we get there to pick the cake up and it is nothing like what the lady who took my mothers order said it would be. We were told the bunny ears on the cake would be made out of wire, there would be multiple shades of purple flowers/ different types of flowers on the top and that was not what we received. We are presented with a cake that has form board bunny ears that look like a 2 year old cut them out and the flowers on the top are all the same style and color except the one single rose flower stuck right smack in the middle. Just one rose really what did your decorator get tired after doing one different type of flower so you just fill it in with the rest? To top it all off you, you gave us a $5.60 refund!?! What's the point of all that if it's not even what we asked for nor what we told what we would get. There's no time to change anything party it tomorrow, your pick up time is up and your closed tomorrow so we are stuck with a cake that is nothing close to what we asked for, so thanks for that. We have always came to this bakery for all our party's and events and every time things have been perfect. Plus your employees need to know how to handle situations like this way better instead of blaming it on the customer. We have used this bakery for cake in the past and have had no problems so we ordered my son's first birthday cake. This morning I sent my father-in-law to pick up the cake. Cheri informed him she didn't have the cmake made because we did not pay for it. She was very rude and at one point told him that it was just a cake. They finally found our receipt and told us they would have the cake ready in an hour. They never apologized for the mistake or being rude. They did give us some free cookies but I would not recommend them as they are very unprofessional and don't seem to care about customer satisfaction. read more

I came in personally to order a small cake for me and my husband's marriage ceremony. It was a 6 inch mini cake just for us. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, but I took some inspiration from a cake that they had already made. It was white with purple, blue and pink airbrushed flowers. Only difference is I told them I wanted hearts in those colors. When I picked up our cake it was baby pink with a hot pink border and some purple hearts drawn on it below our initials. It looked like a little girl's 2nd birthday cake. Even if they didn't do the airbrush they didn't have to make the cake pink, because I never asked for that. I wanted it white. When I went, I told them to just make it pretty and left it in their hands because I didn't want to be too picky. I guess I shouldn't have trusted them that much. The cake tasted great, but it didn't look appropriate for our occasion whatsoever. I'd go back again, but will definitely be more specific with what I want. read more

Our family has literally spent thousands of dollars, over several years on cookies from this bakery - the service was always so-so and we had heard and read all the horror stories of orders lost, not delivered, not done as ordered - but the cookies were decorated nicely and the taste was ok - we were finally one of the people who had their order lost - an order placed over a month in advance and prepaid - almost $200 for 10 dozen cookies - when the order was found there was no apology - we were in fact told - 'what is your problem, we found the cookies' - if we lost something we were responsible for - the least we would do is apologize - the cookies were found only after we produced the receipt and described the order - what this bakery does not seem to understand is the celebration that the product was ordered for is something special to the customer and having an order lost for even a short time is very stressful - we were told this problem 'happens all the time' - we pointed out if that was true, then they had a system problem that certainly needed fixed - we are very disappointed in how this business operates - a good product is only as good as the service behind it - the service at Cheri's is terrible - how sad read more
