This is a nice place. Very large and spacious. Fairly friendly atmosphere but I wouldn't recommend the food! We went for a Sunday carvery. They were quite busy and we thought this was a good sign. However, when we sat down to eat, I found that the food was mostly quite bland. The most flavoursome part of the meal was the cauliflower and that's not a good thing! It was also pretty cold by the time we got anything although that was partly because it is a buffet style carvery so the food is not cooked fresh as you come in. However, the dishes were regularly replenished and everything was clean.
In general, this is a nice place but at £7.50 for a meal I could have had half the price somewhere else and where it would have been nicer, I wouldn't recommend Chequers for a meal. read more
