Well equipped with tea/coffee facility, large flat sreen TV with freeview channels and a sofa. You take the included breakfast at the Toby carvery next door and they offer a "help yourself to veg" carvery (pork, turkey, beef) for £5.25 before 7.00pm (£7.50 after 7.00pm). The carvery was best value and I enjoyed it. Bank's cask ale at £1.99pp plus lagers from £2.45 to £2.85pp. I stayed for two nights and will definitely use an Innkeepers lodge again.

They were very busy at 4 pm. I had a Guinness and a slice besides steak and ale pie. It was delicious. The wait staff were friendly. Great atmosphere. Families and friends sharing meals. Very dog friendly with small and large water bowls and biscuit treats for four legged companions. Definitely worth a stop

For a stately home, this was definitely the most reasonably priced of all the ones in the vicinity. You get 10% off for a weekday booking too. £3500 (excluding cost of wedding) covered a wedding breakfast for 50, room hire, evening reception for 130 including DJ, who also allowed us to choose our own music. Went for the menu tasting meal and was very impressed with the quality of the food. The events co-ordinator was very helpful and easy to get hold of. The rooms are spacious and ornate, and it is set in lovely grounds. They also do a special spa package for your hen night, although I chose to go abroad. The toilets are awesome! Huge, and very clean. Very good value for money for a wedding reception.

The hotel itself is ok. A large square tower, with good sized rooms and modern TV. My room had a weird noise after the AC was turned off. Room was warm enough on the cold nights, and bright enough. No sockets near the bed to plug in electronics which was a little frustrating, but otherwise pleasant enough.

Our friends also had the same booking issue so that was an odd 2nd occurrence on same day. Not a huge deal tho. There is a bar. And a restaurant. Breakfast was free for guests staying and it was quite lovely. All the stuff to make yourself a full English. With mini pastries that actually were tasty. Cereal, bread, juice and coffee as well. A buffet style so load up on bacon and sausage and beans!! Doubt I'll find myself in Coventry again but I'd recommend Ramada if your travels take you here.

Coombe Abbey is a hidden gem. I'm originally from this neck of the woods, and remember many summer…read moredays playing in the public parks around the Abbey. At that time, it was a private building, but all of the grounds were open. Now it's a hotel, and WHAT a hotel! The entire place is a trip back in time. Very little of the original architecture has been changed, with new additions tastefully evoking the building's magisterial beauty, such as the dining area which is essentially a massive conservatory at the back of the building. We occupied two interconnecting rooms. We are definitely not the hotel's target demographic -- 2 adults and 4 young kids -- but they did absolutely everything possible to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable, and unforgettable (in a good way!). Each room had a feature bed, which was just wonderful. The bathrooms were extremely well-appointed, with fantastic showers and bath fittings that soothed away the jetlag and long days of touring the area. Speaking of which: Coombe Abbey is a fantastic base for things like Warwick Castle, Stratford, and Birmingham, especially if you want somewhere a little away from the bustle of regular tourist spots. Remember that the hotel is surrounded by its own land and acres of farmland, too. At night, there isn't a single noise; nothing intrudes on the quiet and serenity of this location. We slept like logs every night -- all of us, even the children. Breakfast was included in our booking, and it's pretty usual English hotel fare: buffet breakfast, including juices, cereals, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, and -- of course -- a fry-up. I believe that Coventry has a lot to offer to tourists. Unfortunately the city is doing a really poor job of redeveloping and marketing itself, and so a lot of good things are going to waste. Coombe Abbey should not be one of them. It's magnificent in every way.

I'm having nightmares now just thinking about the bathroom, with the door that was on an angle so wouldnt close, it was so small, it wasn't dirty but it wasnt clean, if that makes sense! The whole place needs a lot of TLC and modernising. I had a garlic bread thing and chips over at the bar and that was nice, infact the bar itself although empty was clean and respectable. For my two day stay at Ibis (with my traveling group), I genuinely felt that the staff honestly did…read morenot care about it's customers; they would not allow us to use a toll free number (even though it was an emergency), they fed us horrible food, and the rooms were awful. In the rooms most of the toilets did not flush, none of the heaters worked, none of the televisions worked, the carpets were very dirty, and there were bugs in the sheets. If I were you, I would rather sleep in the woods than spend another night in that god-awful place.

The locks feel a bit old school and the fact that the windows have security cords on them and don't really shut properly is a bit concerning. The car park is a bit rough and not visible from the surrounding area so does not feel that safe. Usual basic bar of soap and 1 towel regardless of people staying. Possibly the worst place I have stayed in but it still is a place to rest for a night.
