Figured it was Americanized Chinese food, so we stuck with "safe" choices. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired and ended up throwing most of it out. Beef teriyaki (inedible) and the Egg rolls were so dried out. Sweet and sour chicken was a huge portion of smallish battered pieces with a thick bright red sauce (no pineapple or veggies). Fried rice was okay.

We stopped by here on the way up to Niagara Falls on Labor Day weekend. It's a really small (but…read morevery cute) town and all other restaurants were closed. There is nothing in the vicinity for miles. So we were glad to find a Chinese restaurant which is sort of expected to be open on a public holiday. Food 5/5 : the food tasted very fresh, flavorful and they provide good portion size for each entree. Good value for money. We ordered spring rolls, veg fried rice, noodles, hot and sour soup and vegetarian Buddha bowl sort of entree for 3 people. We realized it was too much food for 3 people and ate it for brunch next day Service 5/5 : they had a few customers stop by to order and grab food but they still served the food in about 15-20 mins. The people were nice and friendly. No complains Ambiance 5/5 : it had a homey mom and pop restaurant vibe. It's not a fancy restaurant but the food is good. Functional, clean and well maintained

There's few restaurants that have great food AND an amazing ambiance, but I'm happy to say that Ichiro is absolutely one of those rare places! I recall the soft-shell crab appetizer being one of my favorites from my previous visits and I had to opt in for it. I found this time around; the soft-shell crab was of a smaller size and clumsily presented. As for the Blue Mango Tuna, these were tasty and we had no complaints there. For entrees, the girlfriend opted in for the Teriyaki Steak Bento Box. The steak was tender, and a huge highlight was the tempura. Hot, crispy and perfectly fried. As for my Sushi Deluxe, I was a bit disappointed. The salmon tasted off, and as much as I don't personally like tilapia, even by tilapia standards, these weren't good. I did however enjoy the yellowtail since it was a cut from the belly section and the sweet shrimp (a la carte). We found our server to be on the dull side. He came off as if he hasn't gotten sleep in a few days and didn't seem too happy to be there. This is just our observation and definitely affected our entire revisit to a favorite restaurant of mine. We can also overhear a man at the host stand teaching a young girl mathematics and can overhear her frustration with it. Our Asian Sandwich came with no tempura flakes on top which states it does on the menu. This wasn't the great experience I've had over the years, and I'm on the fence whether to return or just make the drive to Rochester and visit one of the Japanese restaurants there.

I got the green curry, because it was so good at the previous location but was a bit disappointed because I felt it lacked the same punch of flavors that the other provided. The presentation here was also not nearly as thoughtful and pretty (not that that's super important, just something I noted). It still hit the spot, just not as much. My partner had the pad Thai which was very tasty. Service was a bit stand-offish, but they did their job well and efficiently. The interior was also not as warm as the other location, but I enjoyed the dimmer, warmer lights.
