    miso soup
    Dawn K.

I tried the hibachi steak lunch special and the 3 rolls lunch special! It came with miso soup and salad with an amazing dressing! The miso soup was not good. The three rolls I had were: salmon, eel avocado, and the spicy white tuna. I was sad that there was so little rice for the sushi and that the seaweed was a little chewy because it got soggy from the rice. But the fish all tasted as they should and I enjoyed the spicy white tuna the most! It was had a savory nuttiness from the fish and the tempura bits mixed in a "spicy" sauce. The sauce was not spicy at all though and there was not a lot of sauce. On the other hand, the steak was so juicy! They cooked it perfect medium rare and it was so well seasoned! I enjoyed the sauteed vegetables and the noodles that came with the hibachi steak as well.

This is a large space for sushi and hibachi. They had decent rolls (I liked the spicy scallop crunch) but I would stay away from the sashimi (even the raw tuna wrapped around one of our rolls was a little suspect). The ginger was also not of great quality and had brown spots all over. For the price though (we are coming from NYC), it did the job.

We came here for a sushi date. I got some California rolls that were pretty good. I really liked my Jolly rancher cocktail, I would totally get it again. The waitress was very nice, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated.

Four of us stopped in for an early dinner to a quiet dining room, which had a steady flow of customers. Our first time here, we weren't sure what to expect, but the food was terrific. Sushi was fresh and well made. Udon was delicious. We also split several appetizers which were good. The sushi rolls were gigantic. At the end, we were all too full to order dessert. About the only negative was our server who seemed to be going through the motions. He was very soft spoken and did not seem all that happy to be there. Nonetheless, we gave him a generous 25% tip.

My fiancé and I visited Geneva for the first time and came across Ichiro downtown. We both love Japanese food so we figured we would try it out and it did not disappoint! I ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was great. The prices were very reasonable and the service was good too. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in the area!

We loved this place. All of the food was extremely fresh, and the tempura was super crispy. We are in town for 5 days and we already agreed we're going to come back here on the last day. What a treat! The service & ambiance was great too. Nice spot.

Dinner at Ichiro Japanese Restaurant in Geneva, New York was fantastic. The food was really great, service was excellent and the atmosphere was extremely pleasant. My husband had the Hibachi Shrimp and I had the Salmon Bento Box. The Raspberry Sake Tini was the best martini I've ever had and I highly recommend! Really great dining experience.

Been here a dozen or so times over the past five years (would go more frequently but we live in MI so we stop in while visiting in-laws). Most of the family gets the hibachi - which is quite entertaining and they all say their food is good. I gotta take their word for it as I must order sushi. A good variety of basic and special rolls. I love sashimi and have never been disappointed by the quality of the fish. I enjoy sitting at the sushi bar as the lead sushi chef will make a little special item for you - not dig something out of the cooler but make some delectable bite or two of something right in front of you.

Came here on a Saturday with a group of over 20. We came for drinks alone but then after a few drinks, we decided to order some apps and rolls. The staff was warm and welcoming and our one waitress for a table of 20+ DID HER THING! You would've thought our party had three waiters. She served us with a smile on her face, remembering orders and faces without the use of paper and pad at times. The drinks took some time to reach the table but we were informed that there was only one bartender on for the night. I purchased the Zombie (mix of white and dark rum, 151, OJ, and pineapple juice). This drink won the table over. Strong, affordable, and mixed very well. The sushi platter was pretty basic: tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. Fresh and cold! If i'm in the area again, Ichiro will be top on my list. Affordable, friendly, and tasty!

The pork bao in particular had this beautiful char that added just the right smoky depth without overpowering the sweetness. Absolute standout. The ramen was exceptional. Rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. My tonkatsu was beautifully caramelized -- that golden crust giving way to tender, juicy pork -- while my girlfriend's chicken katsu was crispy, perfectly cooked, and somehow still light. No sogginess, no shortcuts -- just done right. The atmosphere strikes that sweet spot between cozy and modern, and the service was genuinely warm and attentive without hovering. One of my favorite touches? The large visual menu on the wall. For anyone who isn't super familiar with this style of cuisine, it makes ordering approachable and stress-free. Such a smart move. Yori House nails flavor, texture, presentation, and hospitality. Can't recommend it strongly enough -- we'll absolutely be back.

The menu is very interesting with everything Korean, Japanese and Thai inspired from fried rice to tacos to noodle dishes. Service was very good and though the restaurant is small, it is well appointed. We ordered edamame and a pork bun for appetizers. The edamame were served lightly salted and warm and the pork bun wonderful and flavorful. I highly recommend. For a main dish, I ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. The only complaint I have is that the dish was pretty salty. The shrimp were delicious and the portions for everything were generous. We ordered spicy fried rice to take home and I'm so glad we did. Sorry but no photo of the pork bun as we dove into it as soon as we got it.

I haven't been to the physical location but I've ordered Doordash twice (and it came very quickly). Both times I got the Garlic Soy Sauce Tofu Noodle with hand cut flat noodles. The portions were good sized, full of noodles, tofu, broccoli, and bok choy. It comes in a light garlic sauce and I ate most of the broccoli despite not usually being a huge fan of it. My husband got a dish with tomatoes and liked it though he was complaining there aren't appetizers on the menu. Understandable as it's a one person operation. I'd like to try the other noodle option for this dish (regular thin noodles) but the hand cut is so good I will probably keep getting it! On the website I see you can create your own dish with noodle, protein and veggie choice - this is also going on my to do list.

I initially had pizza in mind, but as someone who's traveled extensively and spent more hours than I can count exploring Chinatowns in LA, San Francisco, and NYC, I was excited to see Seasons' Noodle and decided to give it a try. The staff could not have been nicer--warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their work. I truly admire independent chefs and restaurateurs like Yan, and always try to support businesses like this. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Noodle, and while the portion was generous and the presentation solid, I left feeling a bit disappointed. The noodles themselves were nicely done, with a satisfying chew, but the dish as a whole didn't quite come together. The sauce was thin and watery, which left everything feeling separate instead of integrated. The shrimp lacked seasoning and didn't absorb or hold onto any of the sauce, which made the dish feel unbalanced--more like a bowl of ingredients than a cohesive noodle experience. Given the restaurant's inspiration from Northern China--where noodles are often hearty, robust, and well-sauced--I was hoping for something a bit more bold and unified in flavor. In Northern Chinese cuisine, the noodles and sauce should almost cling to one another, often enhanced with garlic, chili oil, or vinegar to bring depth and warmth. Here, it just felt like that final spark was missing. The Mercantile on Main itself is a cool and thoughtfully restored space with a lot of character--it's housed in the historic Sibley Building, once the largest department store between New York City and Chicago. It's now a food hall and gathering space that blends the city's history with a modern vibe. That said, on the day I visited, they were setting up for an event, which made the atmosphere a bit chaotic and distracting--probably just a case of bad timing. I don't live in Rochester, but if I did, I'd give Seasons' another try. Everyone has an off day, and maybe I just didn't order the right thing. I'm still rooting for Seasons' Noodle--because the heart and hospitality are definitely there.

Head chef Nalee Phommachanh had the vision alongside owner (and sister-in-law) Vilay Sysavath. The family- run business offers a diverse and authentic Southeast Asian menu, a quarterly rotating chef specials menu with paired rotating drinks, and a full-service bar with specialty Soju-based cocktails and other Asian-fusion beverages. My wife and I were in Rochester for a thrift show and wanted to grab some lunch. We love Vietnamese, pho is one of my favorite foods, so we decided to give them a try and we were glad we did. The restaurant is small and jam packed full of tables, but we were still able to be sat and given menus immediately around 2PM on a Saturday. We decided to order a bunch of things and share them. Obviously, we got a bowl of pho, along with an order of egg rolls, a chicken lemongrass plate, and a couple pf Thai teas. Our food took a bit to come, but it was pretty busy, and we were very happy with our food. Everything was delicious. The grilled chicken from the platter had awesome lemongrass flavor, the pho's broth was flavorful, the egg rolls were absolutely amazing, and the portions were huge - we had plenty to take home afterwards. Employees were friendly, prices were comparable to similar restaurants. We'd definitely go again if in the area.

Unsurprisingly, I originally visited to try the pho itself. While the pho is served with a plate of Thai basil, hoisin, siracha, sprouts and lime to add flavor, I'm still somewhat regularly disappointed in the lack of umami flavor in the broth itself. It lacks some depth. There are also times when my broth wasn't quite as hot as I would have wanted. Generally, the pho is fine... but there are better options around Henrietta and Rochester. Just something to keep in mind. I've had a variety of other dishes as well, and the pork banh mi is another that could use some improvement. In the couple times that I've had it, it seems to be very dry. I want a scrumptious banh mi with plenty of pickled veggies and a flavorful pork... but that isn't what I've experienced here. It's served with a broth on the side, and that's fine... but I want my flavor *IN* the sandwich... without having to use a broth as a substitute to add moisture to the meat or flavor to the sandwich. On a recent visit, I brought my mother. She ended up ordering the shrimp fried rice for her lunch, and, while the size was large (she ended up needing a takeout container to bring about half of it home), she found the dish to be lacking in flavor and components (noting that more vegetables might have been nice). During this visit, I also ordered the spicy cucumber salad for the first time... and also found *that* side lacking in flavor. There was an itsy bitsy amount of spice... but for something marked on the menu as spicy? It wasn't what I was expecting. Service was fine, and the overall ambience of the restaurant is inviting and clean. The entrance/exit can be a bit rough for cars that are a bit lower to the road... just something to be aware of.
